I grew up in the UK but my primary school had a ANZAC cemetery next to it where victims of the Spanish flu were buried. We would commemorate ANZAC day each year and all all our classes were named after Australian and New Zealand cities, one of them being Canberra. Always find it strange when people say can-bear-a just cause we were taught how to pronounce it properly at school.
in the UK we tend to get it right, but yeah outside of the commonwealth especially you get that. Especially since in the US, they tend to have quite a lot of place names taken from England. So pronouncing those "their way" reinforces that assumption, leading to "Birmingham" being "ber-ming-ham" and not "burm-ingum" for example
So my grandfather worked on the B-57 in Alaska and anytime someone mentions that bomber he tells this story. He and his crew got another B-57 in for maintenance and their CO was pushing to get it ready in double time so it could participate in low level intruder training. Basically a B-57 would fly out from the base and then try to sneak back in under the radar. So my grandfather gets the work done on time and then takes the day off to go moose hunting with a buddy of his. They get out to the woods and start trekking through the snow when my grandfather hears a jet overhead. He looks up just as a B-57 roars by at less than 800 feet. It does a circle around him and his buddy, effectively scaring off all moose in the area, before moving on to the base. The B-57 was so low my grandfather could see the tail number. It was the same one he fixed the day before. He never had another chance to go moose hunting and to this day is still livid with that pilot for ruining his chances.

The camberra was one of the more normal looking designs by the guy who drawn blueprints for wyvern and lightning as well. I absolutely like to troll in GRB with the B Mk.2 with its 4,000 pounder. The RB-57D, a variant of the canberra was also the first plane to be shot down by SAM in history, so it would be an unfortunat first-time record for it.

one of my first jobs in my RAAF maintenance career was to service batteries. I fondly remember the day 3AD quietly restored a recently retired Canberra to airworthy condition for a fly over of the Chief of the Air Force's parade (he was an ex Canberra pilot). My task was to service the enormous main battery, which comprised of four lead acid batteries on a pallet/rack, and the emergency battery, a small nicad battery.
What do I think about the Canberra? When I left school at 15 I went to work at Aircraft Servicing Flight at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus on B2,B4 and PR7. Canberra's so at 15 it was a dream job although I never joined the RAF. now 64 years later I still remember the Canberra with fondness.
When will we get the aircraft inbetween the Lincoln and the Canberra? The Washington B Mk.1???? We are still missing this iconic RAF aircraft that had it's role replaced by the Canberra and V-bombers. Similarly when will we get the V-Bombers? The Buccaneer was the replacement for the F-111K which was to be the replacement for the TSR.2 which was made to replace the aging V-Bomber fleets. We are missing so many bombers inbetween that will work within the current game which us Bomber mains are still waiting for since 2013.
Hey Gaijin, maybe don't put unarmed bombers with no countermeasures at the same BR with air-spawning attackers that have missiles? That'd be great! I'd rather not have the ability to survive past a couple minutes be determined entirely by whether or not someone notices my plane's existence.
Loved the old Canberra. The Photo Reconnaisance variants survived in service with the RAF into the 21st Century. Its a shame we don't make aircraft to last like that any more. We usually pronouce it 'Can-bruh', btw.
My dad knew a guy in the Indian Air Force during the kargil war. They had Reconnaissance Canberras running all night and day until the war ended. They would come down every couple hours and and the guy would remove the camera reel and analyze it and send it to the War Department in Delhi. Even told me a story of helicopters bringing in wounded seeing them up close... Now one of those Canberras is now on public display at some college in Pune.
What i love about the American version is that martin build it with a rotating bomb bay, much like their other famous project from The 50s, the seamaster

Well for one @war thunder I think you need to review the hawker Hunter f6 and give it the option of carrying 4 aim 9b air to air missiles and the option of the sraams as historically they did take aim 9’s and gives them something with a bit more range also I feel the f6 and fga 9 need there external fuel tanks added as the fuel for them is not sufficient enough for matches.

the canbarra is bretty hard to play. no god high sped turn exept you want to lose the wings and it fels like it made out of glas. i think the canbarra mk II, need a lower br to be god, it is so overatet in the game, ok it has big boombs but you got shot down so fast whit it you can´t drop the boombs. the same by the baccaner it is to bad for his Br, 8.7 is god for it. when you remove the Bull Bubs 8.3 back to normel.

Also saying "cool did I ask" as a response to the original commenter saying the B57 has a glitched texture on the wing in response to your "not everyone lives in america" comment is probably the dumbest response I've seen, you have to be a 16yo max, also that's quite literally the name of the plane in the US air tree (B57). NASA still uses one, its highly modified though, they use it for high alt stuff. I love the B-57 in game on WT.
