A Full Walkthrough of an Southern (Govia Thameslink Railway) Class 455 EMU train.
This video is a full walkthrough all 4 carriages which are standard class 3+2 seating throughout.
The formation of a 4 carriage class 455 is the same for all Southern units.
The interior of the Southern class 455 is 3+2 standard class seating throughout and there are no toilets on board. The interior design features Southern green and yellow colours. The class 455 often operate in 8 carriage formations.
The class 455 with Southern have been in operation on the metro routes in South London which includes services from London Victoria to West Croydon, Sutton, Epsom Downs as well as services from London Bridge towards Beckenham Junction, West Croydon, Caterham along with some use on other services.
All the class 455 currently in operation with Southern are planned to leave in May 2022 and services operated by class 455 will be operated by other units such as the class 377 Electrostar units.
Note that this video was filmed in May 2021 on a service while it travelled between West Croydon and Sutton.

Its nice to see the inside of these trains before they go because as much as I think the class 377 will provide a better service there is something I like about these older units. At least SWR will still operate them for a little while longer.

I do remember riding on them couple times and it sounds like a Class 313, Class 314, Class 315, Class 317, Class 318 and the Merseyrail Class 507 & Class 508. Real sad to see them go. And Southern are still keeping the Class 313 “Coastway” for little bit longer.
