I bought a 2DS LL “Japanese version” because it’s so much cheaper and I could care less about the 3D functionality
This is a good tip, I've noticed this on eBay as well
But it’s in Japanese... I would buy because it’s cheap but I can’t read Japanese
@@friedpicklez08 99% sure you can change the language settings to English. I've bought cheap PSPs from Japan and I do that with those
@@calebherring387 I bought the exact same one and it just came in today which was wayyy sooner than i was expecting and it's not bad and compared to the 3ds xl the quality does feel a bit cheap "no complaints' and it also feels a tad bit lighter
@@friedpicklez08 I can't read Japanese either but it won't even matter cuz once you homebrew it you can look into how to change the whole system to English if you want which is kind of pointless in my opinion because you can still play any game on it and it'll be in English regardless of it being region locked. Oh and you can't just change it in settings I checked.
Nintendo:Gba doesn't work well on the 3ds/new nintendo 3ds
Modders: works fine to me.
Yup it’s just awesome, Mgba is just amazing
@@bartnail2856 why mgba when you can inject the titles into the console's emulator
@@mohamedaminekhadhraoui6417 on o3ds its better to use vc injector, but on n3ds and n2ds you can run mgba.
you dont need to convert the files to cia, you have save states and load stats, you have button mapping, screen size adjusting (3 options for top screen and 3 for bottom).
you also have auto save and auto load( is you close the app and open it again it will load the last saved auto save.
@@bartnail2856 maybe but the virtual console's near perfect compatibility is much more attractive to me.
@@mohamedaminekhadhraoui6417 yea i use vc on my old 3ds, but once i tried the mgba i just moved everything to the mgba.
i think its better but to each their own.
i also think its easier since you just dump the files in the sd .
So glad im not alone with buying one in 2020
Devil assah where did u buy yours?
@@diorxsims4924 nintendos website refurbished bro search up reviews about it, its pretty much the only way to go
Devil assah kk tysm!
Devil assah is gamestop any good for refurbished 3ds’s? i want just the plain black one but nintendo seems to not have any
@@diorxsims4924 ik i wanted to get a different color because im pretty sure nintendo only has red but i didnt want to do gamestop because nintendo refurbished is practically brand new and guaranteed good quality while gamestop seemed more risky
I picked up a "New 3DS XL" in 2020 for the sole purpose of Homebrewing. That said, I love the 3DS and play it all the time. Don't know why people complain, the "eye" tracking on the "New 3DS" is great and I play all my 3ds game in 3D. - but understand the older version without the eye tracking made playing 3ds games pretty bad. I think the 3ds is still relevant in 2020 and has a personal charm with all of it's social aspects "street pass, ect" that the Switch lacks and am sad to see Nintendo moving away from this platform.
MR. H. A little off topic, but do you play online with your home brew 3DS? I’m interested in sending Pokémon to Bank and then to Pokemon Home. Don’t want to be banned. Thanks!
@@JeffoV64 ya, I play online with CFW on my 3DS. The Homebrew community had said there is always a chance you can be banned, but most believe it's unlikely to happen as Nintendo isn't really developing new games for the 3DS now and is more focused on the Homebrewing that is being done on the Switch and piracy of their games for that platform.
MR. H. Sounds reasonable. Thanks for the input. Looks like I’ll be installing CFW this weekend !
hey can u link me to a modding video that you used for your 3ds? I'm getting a new Galaxy 3DS in a week and want to mod it safely and not get my console bricked.
@Funtime Puppetter SFM good thing j got friends who want to streetpass this summer :)
Not using the 3D? Use a New model and turn the thing on. It's the best.
That eye tracking is amazing.
agreed. I bet he was using an old one.. My 3D slider stays ALL the way up ALL the time
I have the “new” XL, and I gotta say although the eye tracking and the 3D are pretty good, I prefer the extended battery life from keeping it off.
@@ct275 I've tried it at game stop it's fine but I don't care about it it's not worth the extra $30
I use it all the time I can...at max!
I really thought you were the sophisticated old man talking in the beginning 😆
He's 57 thats old to me
Same 🤣
Same lmfao
I remember I got the New 3DS XL as soon as it released and I never used it. I recently modded it and now I play it all the time. If you have an old 3ds laying around, make sure to mod it. You won’t regret it.
i just modded my og 2ds (slab) and its great! i got some free games and im gonna get some custom themes too
@@anakinskywalker4090 for 80 bucks you can't go wrong!
Same here, I recently got into 3DS since I haven’t played my Switch as much (due to lack of games). Just found out my Pokémon 20th anniversary system has dual IPS screens, so I’m using that more than ever now. I recently got a 2DS XL just for collector’s sake.
Same but for me it was a 2ds in 2016
yo question....ive never played nintendo before...except switch....so i really want to try the 3ds family...but the question is...should i buy the modded one or the original one?
When I originally got my 3DS I rarely used the 3D feature, but now I almost always play with it on. It really helps counteract the down sides of playing games on smaller screens by giving them a new sense of depth. Playing through OOT3D I can confidently say that the 3D is making it a much more immersive and enjoyable experience for me.
I got a secondhand 3ds recently but luckily I tucked away my old SD card from when i was a kid. Looking back through the pictures me and my friends took is great with the 3D feature. Its not a crystal clear image but the fuzzy low rez images often show wonderfully in 3D, as if im looking into a crystal ball
i literally JUST bought a n2ds on amazon as soon as i heard they were discontinued because shit's going to be hard to emulate
wym?
Same lol mines coming on Monday afternoon
@@dannyr1520 i mean the dual screen setup works mostly on the 3ds
I have a modded 2ds and its perfect
@@Akira_Gaming005 same, I think I'm going to upgrade to the 2ds xl tho because the colorways are cool lol
now in August 2020, Super Mario 64 (OG version) runs NATIVELY on modded New 3DS thanks to some smart people. No need for Super Mario 64DS anymore
Heard this as well, was amazing to see it on switch, even better on 3ds
Now if we could get SM64DS to be natively ported for analog control it'd be perfect.
@@thawkade
What do you mean ?
@@54356776 A native port, when using the circle pad in DS mode, it is digital so you still need the run button, A native port would remove that limitation with analog control.
3d remains on on my New 3ds, the face tracking is great and works well
Just as a heads up for anyone considering a 3DS model to mod, it really depends on what you want to use your modded 3DS for, if you just wanna mess around with homebrew and don't play backups then 16GB should be the maximum you need but if you wanna do that and play backups then maybe consider a 32-64GB sd card (Preferably micro SD for the New 3DS/2DS models) I use a 64 GB sd card and I have used half of my storage and have about 30 3DS games on it and 58 DS games from Twilight Menu. But the extra space is also good if you also wanna use DS homebrew because it is realy easy to gain access to the DS homebrew menu or just use Twilight Menu to boot up DS homebrew
Also you can make forwarders for DS titles so they appear on the homescreen and you don't have to open Twighlight menu
I actually haven’t used the 3D functionality on the 3DS for years now. I have the regular New 3DS and even with the improved 3D tracking on that system I rarely turned the 3D on. Two days ago I transferred everything from the regular New 3DS to my Nintendo refurbished PokéBall New 2DS XL cause I like the form factor and screen on the 2DS XL better.
It is?
How could you NOT love the 3D effect? I personally think it's the best feature to EVER be implemented into video games, although it's true there are many titles that are lackluster. However, the developers that put the extra effort in for the 3D effects are mind-blowing. IMHO of course.
I love the 3D but I use it rarely so it’s not like a must have for me. It is an impressive feature though.
Original 2ds will be the longest lasting hardware wise, all the other models have hinges that will likely break over time
Those screens are more exposed than my tits at the beach
Unless you are a kid with excessive ADHD, not really. GBA SPs are still fine.
I feel like only the DS lite had broeken hinches because 90% off all owners were under 12
@@toraomc1076 there's a thing called screen protectors, you know, lol.
MatthewAmoah lmaooo yeah i had a ds lite when i was like 6
I’m still playing on 3D since 2011!!! It’s the best feature ever!!! It literally makes the experience so much better! It’s one of the reason why it’s my favorite handheld ever!!
Exactly! Even if the graphics aged in 3D it still looks really good. Besides that the orientation is much easier in 3DS (like in Mariokart, Animal Crossing I hate playing those without 3D)
there is just something nostalgic about turning on the 3d
I think I got mine in either 2011 or 2012 but idk because I was like 5
1.get new 3ds normal or xl or 2ds xl if possible but any 3ds works. 2. mod the system to the most. talking like the more complex stuff, that well can give you the ability to pirate but honestly a lot of games are not accessible, soo idk your choice 3. customize it, oh yeah the background of the 3ds and much more 4. not for all but get a few accessories, maybe a clear case you can decorate or whatever, or a grip to support those hours of gaming. 5. get on of those multi card ds game carts (so many ds games in one, i would highly recommend the 208 in 1 as it may seem less than many others offered it has a lot more of the heavy hitters titles of the ds) and 6. get a micro sd (32 gb) and final one 7. enjoy it, it's awesome 🤟
Got mine today, finsihed modding earlier. $50 for the black 3ds xl, great condition. Said the "cartridge reader didn't work," I didn't mind since I was modding. Turns out the reader DOES work! Great deal
The OG 2DS wasnt bad. I got one when Pokemon Sun/Moon came out and had it through Ultra Sun/Moon. The screen size on the 3DS XL is real nice tho
Great video, man! Subscribed.
thanks for sharing my video 😃
Hey keep up the the content. I modded my 2ds and wii u and now I play them more than my switch with so much new software.
Modded my Wii U with your help, thanks...
The 3D on the old 3DS isn't that great. It gives you headaches after a long play session and you have to keep the system at a specific angle to see. I've had my O3DS for 8 years now and i can say that the 3D effect (and also the shoulder buttons) won't be the same after 2 years or so. But then i got a New 3DS. It was a breath of fresh air. The face-tracking 3D isn't a lie, it works really well. The 3D actually makes most games stand out and look more colorful. So I would recommend buying a New 3DS or the XL model
i bought a 3DS in 2020 as well, but had no intention of modding it at the time. was just my first 3DS, and i wanted to play new leaf and project mirai dx on it. now im finally, hopefully, gonna mod the thing.
But you are lesbian
How that go
I got lucky. My coworker sold me his New 3DS XL for only $25! Perfect condition and he threw in Pokémon Sun as well. The only downside was he didn’t have a charger for it. No scratches and runs very smooth for being used about a couple of years. It had so many fingerprints on it though.
Yep I bought a second hand old 3ds regular now in 2020 and I think it’s still LIT even tho it’s been a few years......
NIGHT PRINCESS could you please state all of the flaws and gripes you’ve had with the system? I may want to get this instead
charles thomas I have no problem with the console I really loved it and I’m still playing with it today. It is worth it even tho it’s second hand btw make sure there’s no problem when you bought it..
I would recommend getting either a 64 or a 128 card if you plan on fully hacking this system and playing as many emulators as possible on the system. Even though GBA and older systems have very small file sizes the N64 and PS1 are around 1GB and if you plan on switching between many 3DS, DS, PS1 and N64 titles you will need a decent sized card.
Hope this helps someone
It does, thanks :)

Here's an obscure buyer beware tip. Any large SD card is supported as long as it is formatted properly, however, ones 256 and over tend to give the system strange bugs. Like making certain games prone to crashing and most notably, the custom theme homebrew app resets back to stock theme every time you turn off the console. Not a deal breaker for useing a large sd card, but still pretty annoying.
ik this comment is old but seriously thanks for this! was planning on getting a 256gb card for when i get mine, but knowing that I'll probably just stick to 128gb since i don't need _that_ much storage anyways
@@glitchystaticz after years of using one i accidently fixed the themes problem. The corrupted app was just a specific game and a different version worked fine. It turns out the fix for the themes opening luma configuration (power on console while holding select to open luma config) then set splash to before payloads. With every luma update these setting go back to default so just remember to change your splash setting and a large SD card should be fine
You can also watch 3D movies on a modded 3ds with Luma CFW
Not gunna lie movies like Avatar and Avengers: Endgame look pretty good in 3D on 3ds
Joseph Martinez can you tell me how to do this or show a guide pls
wow,you can? i have to do that now, haha
fully hacked: Vita, new 3ds xl, ps2, Wii U. ~lit

@@barbrose4987 I know the switch can be hacked but isn't that full on pirating. I pirate ds games but that's because it's pretty old and I do own some of the games.
@@last5902 nintendo would disagree by daying that because u downloaded that game for free, you stole a second copy that would of been sold, lol nintendopes,(jk)

fully hacked: Wii, Switch, 3DS xl, ps3. not lit
Mine isn't a Vita but I also got a hacked PSP and plan to hack my 3DS (just waiting for my new sd card to arrive). Life's good.
I love the 2DS. I have relatively big hands and it fits so much better than a New 2DS XL and the New 3DS XL was too heavy and cramped my hands. I came back to my 2DS and the form factor and the mushy buttons make it so much better in long gaming sessions
greencapzelda same it also works for small hands
The best of all 3ds.
I bought a new 2ds xl used for 150 that was preloaded and up to date almost a year ago and I enjoy it, personally I wasn't a fan of the 3d feature so not having was a big deal
the only 3ds game i've modded a save file of is animal crossing new leaf (my town is practically full of gold roses and i have an ungodly amount of bells)
for context, i have an original 2ds that I've owned since 2016 that has jksm on it
my younger brother has a modded 2ds he's owned since 2016 as well and i let him borrow my miitopia game cart so he could create a cia of it and install miitopia onto his 2ds for free (we can't just share the game cart because it's a singleplayer jrpg and i already have a post-game save that i very much don't plan on ever deleting any time soon, so he just has a digital copy made from my physical copy without my .sav file on said digitalized copy)
I think the 2DS is cool reminds me of the gameboy.
Also yea I never used the 3D function at all didn’t care not at all!
It only played 3ds games. Its A 2ds
Me too I don’t really like the 3D
I bought the original with the 3D function very much in mind and I really enjoyed it, the ‘new’ version is even better.
We've been on home quarantine and surfing through the used facebook market, just got one for the familym boy did we missed such a great console. We were PSP and Vita fan back in the day. Sold our Switch and sticking to 3DS ever since. Sorry Switch is nice and all but 90% of the games are just re-release of PS3 or Wii U games, selling at full price. After 2 years the market still maintain and we just got bored of it. The free network play and easy local multiplayer simply beat Switch and the shit subscription Nintendo trying to sell.
I just got one from GameStop, love it but but gonna have to change it somehow cause of the condition it came in. It looks like some kid owned it 🤦🏻♂️
Ontario Bass Fisher Bruh the system is all scratched on the back and the stylus came bitten and this was “GameStop premium refurbished” (which sure I know they mostly work on the internals) but c’mon it’s ridiculous.
2nd Place is trash How did you mod it ? I bought it to do the same but I’m not sure if I should (doesn’t nintendo screw them up with updates like with the Wii ?)
@@scarfaceENT simply dont update, i have a modded 3ds that has never once updated after i completed the mod. the system os just pesters you to update whenever you reboot the system. say goodbye to online MP but really its not a big deal anyways.
I got the 2ds xl since my 3ds xl broke, and I honestly like it as much as a 3ds, since I barely used the 3d feature
I have an original 3DS XL. I’ve had it for 7 years I think. I never thought about modding before. I haven’t seen a DS of any kind in my local stores for a handful of years. I’m looking at market place and ebay to collect old DS systems. I’m considering getting a new 3ds xl and modding it, and leaving my original 3ds xl in its current state. I don’t like the 3d function at all honestly. It hurts my eyes, I’ve almost never used it. I just liked having the XL since it was bigger than my DS lite that, which was actually my first gaming console.
I use a 64gb micro sd, holds all my roms plus CIAs and homebrew stuff. I have the Super Mario Black Edition from Walmart I got black friday of 2016. It's lightly used and I took super good care of it.
Lmao this sounds like a sale description, you tryna sell it to me?
I got a 2ds from GameStop and it was perfectly fine. It was in amazing condition.
I just won an auction for a 3DS XL for $45, and so I'm here getting information. Thx.
Dude that's so good for 45
I’ve loved gbc and gba , but 3DS I never owned till I was older ! I always thought it looked stupid , but the games like Zelda from n64 is so dope I’m glad I decided to try it out.
I’m still playing my new 3ds XL, until my switch lite comes in the mail, but I’ll still be keeping it and playing here and there, 🤷🏻♀️
The 3ds xl new or old is still a great system. The lite is available at target.
chempanda thanks! And yeah I seen one near me has it so I could pick one up today if I wanted to, but it’s too late because I already ordered one :( womp womp haha
I bought a brand new 2DSXL and moded it. Totally worth it with a big micro SD card 128gb.
If you want to mod the 3DS, buy brand new. No matter the price, the value of a moded system is tremendous and it is well worth it to have a brand new who will last as long as you take care of it. Saving 30 or 40 bucks on something you will use for years and for free is not a big deal.
There is a derth of intact new 3ds unmodded. Secondly there is a limit to installed backup copies. I have a 256 gb card and if you go over the limit your system will crash and you will have to reinstall certain necessary apps. is it worth having over 200 games? That is debatable for the individual. For me...yes. this makes it superior to a switch or even my phone. I have tons of jrpgs. The only way to get around that limit is with retroarch. I modded an old 3dsxl as well and retroarch seems to work better on that honestly.
It broke today. My (cfw) 3ds broke today. It was the hardware. Can i get a moment of silence. It was my baby infact.
How did it break? Like the hinge broke?
@@OwnD1 probably hardware just broke with the hacks and stuff. moment of silent for me as well...
you mean bricked? if so, i think there are ways to recover it but i'm not sure
Is it me or is it just everyone wanted to be on the ds/3ds Christmas ads
I do, especially since i coincidentally enough got my 2ds on christmas in 2016
@@_stardustcolors guys... what if Nintendo is making a new handheld in secret... it could save alphadream, and other 3ds games.
I just bought 2 2ds consoles, one to mod and one to store. I think it's a magical console. Absolutely worth it.
I had one, best 80 dollars ever, I just bought a Wii u for 75 dollars and I modded it but I still think the modded 2ds is much more fun lol
I loved that you could turn any photo that could be saved to the 3DS “3D”
Nice vid. Love my 3ds. I have 3. Original. 2ds and new 3ds xl. I use the new 3ds xl myself but confess the crappy 2ds is by far the most comfortable of the 3. By far. Especially using the d pad for digital input games like street fighter. But I use the new 3ds xl as I do enjoy the bigger screen and extra power and snes virtual console. At the end of the day all 3 are modded and great but the original does cramp my hands. I recommend the xl models or if ur just gonna play at home the 2ds for comfort.
So many 3ds and ds games I still wanna buy
Modded mine and I'm so happy I did
You can even add custom themes on your mod 3ds. Super cool
I would say use a 128gb sd card because I have 40gb left on my sd card after downloading a ton of games so 128 is best
How about instead of moding its software, create something like R4 cart that can support 3ds games? I like collecting carts but it is still pricy today.
They already exist
@@gershonsanchez. I didn't know that. I only know r4.
Boy is some of this information wildly out of date new. Systems have skyrocketed in price, they aren’t in ant stores across the county, and eBay expect to pay 2-3 times what the system cost new
Crazy how much that all changed in a year
I prefer the 2ds over the new 3ds by a wide margin. I think the system fits better in my hands and it feels more study. I also think the Dpad feels better for platformers and retro games, and I play most of my retro games on my 2ds. I also think games just look better on the smaller screen, cus after going from my switch to my new 3ds xl, the games just looked blown up and poor. If you prefer the larger screen, more power too you, but for my use case the 2ds is a better device for me.
I really dont understand why people dont like the 3d
Back in 2015, my friends got one for their birthday and it was a New 3DS XL and the 3D was absolutely mesmerizing. I don't use it all too much. Just a normal 3DS XL did it for me.
I had to watch this video twice the mario and luigi stuff in the background was to entertaining and I didn't pay atention.
Could I use a sky3ds card without actually messing with the system of 3ds? Cause I wanna be able to download 3ds games
I have the Galaxy new 3ds xl
my biggest regret was selling my red new 3ds xl 3 years ago, i bought another one again and will never sell it

i got my o3ds in 2012 and now in 2021 i’ve bought a Japanese New 3ds Cheap and in great condition and with cfw i couldn’t be any happier with my purchase
If you have a hacked 3ds, don’t even worry about getting banned, nintendo doesn’t ban in 3ds anymore they ban on switch.
PD: that doesn’t mean you can use hacks. I think that’s the only way to get banned at this time
can I play "back up" games online without getting banned ?
Reddit Folklore okay thanks, I hacked my 3ds long ago before I broke it 4 years ago, now I’m fixing it. I was making sure if it’s still safe in 2020.
I'm really dumb, so does that mean you can hack the console but not have any limitations because of that?

Got a happy home designer exclusive n3dsxl from the UK for my birthday to fulfill my dream of having a game exclusive console. My childhood was on the lineage of the ds so it felt right. Very familiar with modding Nintendo consoles so I’m hyped for new horizons and trying out HHD a few days after!
CatFish-Colours Same!!! But I’m in the US, so I got homebrew on it! Also, do you have an ips screen, or a tn screen?
@@bhbg0309 not sure, the virus who shall not be named hasn't let me see my purchase, i think its the standard 3ds screen.
CatFish-Colours oh! Hmmm. Ok then! Because you haven’t seen the screen of your 3ds just yet, then you should later. Your 3ds could have an ips screen or a lower quality tn screen. Basically an ips screen has better colors, is brighter, darker blacks, and uses a little bit more battery. You can distinguish them by tilting your 3ds and viewing it from the side. If the color washes out, then you have a tn screen. If the color does not fade or change much, then you have a superior ips screen. Some people say that most happy home designer 3ds’s have tn screens, but some people report have dual ips screens. I guess it’s just luck. Can’t wait for it to arrive!
Youngsook Yun the bottom one seems to be tn and the top ips?
CatFish-Colours wow! That’s still quite rare! I hope I got at least one ips screen as well. So lucky haha
I have a new 3DS XL, and I have not turned off the 3D function (except for comparison purposes) since I got it. If I'm not wrong, if you turn it off, you're basically playing in half the resolution.

October 2020 3ds is discontinued, glad I bought the New 3ds for modding 2 months ago and I'm loving it so far!
2:31 I have that 3ds xl
Andrew Nguyen same
I emulate the DS on my nvidia tablet and it looks and runs great. Mainly I use it for cheats in jrpgs to speed through the grind (yes I know that's an option modded but I had my tablet long before my 3ds), but I agree about the virtual button issue. I use a external controller and don't have a problem. That said I love my modded new 3ds xl. I bought it that way ($100 offer up) and only added a R4 card then loaded up all my favorite DS games. I play it more than my switch. It came with 256gb micro card and since I bought it less than a year it has pretty up to date games and the E-shop works fine. Got the crappier non IPS screen version but at the price no complaints and it's a pain to find them anyways.
What is the purpose of modding your 3DS? I've been interesting in some R4 Cards and possibly homebrewing my O3DS but never understood the purpose of it. Even if you wanted to Download ROMs illegally cant you just use the R4 card for that? So why homebrew it?
xSilver r4 cards can only play original nds roms not 3ds ones. You have to install the newer roms via .cia files. Mine came pre installed with games and I watched vids to add my ow. I was nervous when there was a firmware update but it went fine and the e-shop still works. Getting ready to mod my old dreamcast myself.
One more thing the while you can homebrew install older DS games I find it better to use the R4 for that only as I use the main SD card storage for all my 3DS and cps1&2, snes, neo geo titles that I added via .cia files.
Sorry if this is a stupid question because I'm new to consoles altogether (bought a few months ago a Switch which was my first ever console). If I were to purchase a 3DS and Animal Crossing New Horizons and played it online, could I still have a modded 3ds or would I get banned? I am extremely concerned over that to be honest. TIA!
If you don't use hacks or cheats inside of the game you should be fine
I had the 2ds and for 80 bucks at launch vs my sister's 300$ **new** 3ds, With mods and free games it really makes that whole 80 dollars completely worth it
Bro. You said MN and I was like " have I met this guy?" Haha. State buddies!
I bought a New Nintendo 3DS XL SNES edition YEARS ago just because the SNES was my first console, now it's my portable SNES, NES, Gameboy and 3DS/DS console and i freaking love it.
It’s fine to take of the battery of a modded 3ds xl just to replace the sd card slot cover?
Where in Minnesota do you live? I live in St Paul and can't find any new 3DS's on store shelves.
Here in the Netherlands ,they still sell the models new in stores.last week I bought a new 3dsxl for 90 euro,s in a local play store.
Hey me too! I live in St Paul and can’t find anything. They should really rerelease the systems
I bought mine in 2016 and 2019 idk why I just loved my 3ds and 2dsxl. I missed my 3ds so I can play all my old ds games. Gbc and gba games. R.I.P 3DS 9 years of happiness.
One thing the slab 2ds has going for it is that it's built like a tank. In the long run the slab may be the best way to play 3ds games on original hardware. There is now a finite number of clamshell hinges out there and all will eventually break.
Should i buy a ds lite (around 30$) or a new 3ds xl (around 200$)
For that price buy a switch lite
@@marmotagaming1124 but i want something more portable
@J0yc0nStr4p 005 i don't rly like the slab shape of the 2ds and in my country the 2ds is also 200$
@J0yc0nStr4p 005 yup i think thats the best choice
Does anyone know if you can get the fanmade SM64 3ds port without bricking your system?
I picked up a new New 2DS XL for €95 last Black Friday which was a heck of a deal and you're right about the 3D only once or twice I thought "how would this look in 3D" but most of the time when I hear or think about the 3D function I'm like "oh yeah, right that's a thing"
Would anyone recommend modding my 3ds XL on which I'm playing on for years or should I buy a new ?
Planning om gifting my friend a modded 3ds, time to learn how this stuff works!
Have modded NDS a bunch of times
Just got picked the 2DS up on ebay today, together with pre installed Pokémon sun and Pokémon gold, which is really awesome. But can I actually save those pre installed games before installing CFW?
I use the 3D function any & every time a game offers it. On the “new” 3DS XL. I love the SWITCH but, disappointed 3D wasn’t incorporated with handheld mode.
Me too! The 3D feature is what makes it unique to the rest of the gaming world.
I think emulating ds on your phone is more than worth it because all you really need is a controller, a phone clip and a cheap stylus and you can pretty much play most ds games with all functionality intact.
The idea of carrying around those extra three things along with my phone is why I wouldn't do it. A DS is so cheap that you'd spend as much on a used DS as you would buying a Bluetooth controller
@@SpawnTrapped true although emulation wise a phone can do alot more than a ds or 3ds ever could 3ds can probability hit snes tops.
Although where I'm at now with my gaming i kinda feel similar which is why i want one of those Android handhelds like the GPd xd plus just something that has built in controls so I don't need to carry around my controller or phone clip
Yeah but the only ds emulator worth using on android is paid, and citra on android still has a long way to go, might as well play on the real hardware, especially since they aren't very expensive (2ds costs less than $70, which would be basically what it costs for a controller and phone clip)
paid yes but is definitely worth paying for it which is why i did, years ago. runs ds games as well as the real thing. the main reason Citra isn't that good is cause it was based off of dolphin on phones which already has trouble running games well without beefy hardware you need 4 gigs of ram just to
Launch it because of that
As for real hardware I've already got a new 3ds xl myself and i play on that with any ds and 3ds games i own carts for I'm just waiting until the eshop is shut down before i mod it that way i don't have to worry about being banned.
Also own a Bluetooth controller and phone clip (more of a home made clip than one i bought) already for my phone
I’m from Minnesota too!
Tbh the ds is just a really good thing to play on
I love the 3d effect. Might be the only one... but I still love playing in 3d.
is there a replacement for freeshop?
same question here
Nope only installing .cia files with FBI.
Finding .cia files and installing them yourself isn't too difficult, unless you have a new 3ds xl and have to have a tri wing screwdriver just to get to your sd card
Pray to the r4 gods.
I love thesee videos. As someone whonnever quit playing it its like uh yes get one they are worth it
best micro sd 128gb i have a 200gb in mine but i backed up my whole library so i don't wear out the card slot and in response there are several titles that are bigger then 1.5gb
The 3d function hurts my head
Funtime Puppetter SFM but I’m blind
I agree with you the 3D hurts my head and eyes and I don't wear glasses. After having the 3D on for 5 or 10 minutes it actually hurts my eyes. I always thought the 3D feature was useless. The only game that really use the 3D feature was super Mario 3D Land.
I turned on the 3d function on the 3ds and it's fun but the problem is that it's not good for the eyes and I would like to get 3d glasses to use the 3d permanently
I... Still think about if its worth it to mod my 3ds... Because I own it for a long time and i kinda want it to stay vanilla but on the other side.. Idk
