The label on my dw716 motor is missing. I bought it second hand. How can I tell if this will work with a model other than the model 20?
At the end of your upper blade guard there will be a black plastic cap where your light would go. If you have that cap, then your good to go.

@@marksheinbaum3390 I know this comment was awhile ago if you wanted more custom option you could buy a strip of LED cheap take the saw covering apart and using some strong glue install the lights and drill a hole for wires to come out and splice into the trigger assembly hot side so light will be on when saw is plugged in, or wire in a toggle switch etc.

Working like a charm on my DWS716 ,just be careful when cutting the white wires the connection plugs on my saw were reversed.
Make sure it is a DWS716 type 20 as stated.

Actually, Its an optical illusion. The video was shot in Australia and since they are on the opposite side of the world, everything just looks backwards. ;-)
Why you need a switch? Just wire the light to the trigger on the saw ..
bc you want to line up your cut accurately before starting the saw motor, but I get what you're saying might be OK for some uses
Do you really have to switch out the bottom part of the handle? Other videos say the bottom is exactly the same
Great question! The bottom part of the handle comes as part of the upgrade kit, but it is exactly the same as the old one. It's not necessary to replace it but we demonstrated the full repair in case you choose to do so. 😃

This will work on the DWS779 Type 21?
It actually only fits on the Type 20!

@@bomb1142able when you say reversed - meaning white was black and black was white, or what?
