I should have seen Godzilla Minus One. I keep wondering why they bring back directors that didn’t blow us away the first time.

Yeah you definitely should see it sometime! If you saw my video, you’d know that I didn’t think it was a PERFECT movie like a lot of people seemed to think, but it was very good. I was hoping the director would take the good parts of Godzilla Vs. Kong and improve the bad parts. Unfortunately it seems like there were no improvements made

People here commenting that people should just see minus one. do you people have any idea about the past godzilla movies? did you know? takashi yamazaki himself said that the legendary godzilla is just as important as godzilla minus one. meaning they can coexist together. why? because they are two different versions of godzilla. one is darker and one is sillier. why do you think godzilla went cheesy route after gojira? godzilla raids again started the cheesy route and paved the way for showa era. you guys think its easy to write a serious godzilla film without the post war and biolante storyline?take out the story about post war, the story about a grieving father who turned his dead daughter into a monster, and write a human character that is more interesting than godzilla without any of those storylines, lets see what you people can do, you people think its so easy to write an oscar worthy type of godzilla twice? it was always this way, this is the cycle that was built from godzilla's legacy. they make darker serious godzilla once in awhile, and then they go back to cheesy monster fights. you're probably saying, ohh, this isnt the 60s anymore. so? whats wrong with updating the source material and making it more modern? what is wrong with enjoying the other one? what is wrong with enjoying both? let people choose the version they want. if japanese godzilla and legendary godzilla becomes identical in tone then it will get boring fast. those people who are saying legendary should just give monsterverse to takashi are insane, and takashi would never agree to that anyway because he understands the importance of legendary godzilla. funny isnt it? he himself understands it, why cant other people understand? some people nowadays are demanding too much of hollywood, asking them to only release oscar worthy masterpieces, hollywood will get boring fast. just because you loud minorities want that, doesnt mean the rest of us do too. besides, takashi has already expressed an interest for a minus one sequel, guess what? he wants godzilla to fight another monster. like i said, its the cycle. look man, i love watching oscar worthy films, hell, my favorite film of all time is an al pacino classic, scent of a woman. but then again, i cant just eat vegetables all the time, at some point i gotta eat fastfood burgers too, because they are delicious. unhealthy yes, but man they are delicious. and you balance that by eating vegetables or fruits. as long as they dont go down to the level of the marvels and madame web, the monsterverse will be out there for awhile, so is toho godzilla. two versions for everyone. let them choose. and let toho and legendary studios profit from them so they can put food on their table.

Yeah, I don’t think I’ll support these anymore with my hard earned $s.
Do you know the budget for this new Godzilla garbage compared to the budget for Godzilla Minus 1?
It’s an amazing difference with Godzilla Minus 1s small budget, I’ll wager.
Americans just put up these CGI cartoon Godzilla movies and they have no understanding of any of the previous Godzilla movies or their success from the Japanese.
    Thanks for ranking.
Helps me objectively understand what you thought.

Yeah I understand. It is very impressive how little they made Godzilla Minus One…obviously the budget for GxK would have to be more given its focus on the kaiju fights, but it’s still very inflated. They need to learn how to keep a budget lower and how to write good human characters

you talk about the toho godzilla movies like as if you know them, yet you talk like as if toho godzilla movies was always at the level of minus one. how many godzilla films are there now? 35? 38? right? how many of those 38 had the same tone as minus one? ill tel you, about 2-3 movies. and you think that legendary dont understand the legacy of godzilla? you just erased the showa era from existence? lol. you think the monsterverse is cartoonish? and godzilla doing a freaking flying kick, flying with the use of his atomic breath, hell, godzilla has even done the ali shuffle, ahahaha, what do you call those? ahahahaha. those were fun times at the movies. the old godzilla movies, that is something that legendary studio understands. you are the one who dont understand the legacy that was built around our beloved gojira. you people always say, if a studio reboots a franchise that is loyal to its source material, you say it lacks originality, when they change too much, you say they ruined the source material. legedary studious has done their best to stay loyal to the source material, at the same time, also updating it so that the modern audience can enjoy it.
