I thought Ghidorah was pronounced like “Gidderra” with the “Gid” like in “giddy up” and the “der” like in “ladder” and the “ra” rhyming with the end of the word “sofa” even though you’re pronouncing it more like it is written, I thought that’s how it went. I haven’t this movie yet so I don’t know how they say it here but I saw an older one where it was pronounced like that.
We couldn't have explored it, anyways. They state how hot and radioactive it was in there that even with his advanced radiation suit he would die from the radiation. Humans couldn't set foot in there and make it out alive.
Such a awesome movie and a respectful tribute to ToHo. Seeing Mothra, Rodan and king Ghidorah get a million dollar treatment is just legendary. This is for you yoshimitsu banno 🙏🏿
This is my favorite from the monsterverse so far. I was in awe of the special effects in the theaters, Godzilla and Co have never looked so incredible.
Another fun bit of trivia, Ghidorah's outpost is 32 is half of 64 which was the year of his debut. However it is more likely a nod to The Thing which was an Antarctic base dubbed Outpost 31. Also during Rodan's attack scene, the shot of him eating an ejecting pilot was a nod to the 50s b monster movie, The Giant Claw
I don't remember if they mentioned it in the movie but gidora was from outside earth. He's the only alien kaiju. He also represents climate change or humans effect on the environment where his presence is innately destructive. That's why the weather changes around him. The earth knows he doesn't belong here compared to the other kaijus whose bio energy causes growth.
21:28, Aileron roll. Rotating like that is an Aileron roll, which is commonly mistaken for a Barrel roll which is actually performed more as a combination of a loop and a roll.
Thank you for bringing us the Monsterverse. Maybe you can cover a couple other Godzilla classic films? Maybe ones that the Monsterverse took inspiration from. I never compared the three heads to the three main characters, and that is brilliant!King Ghidorah, especially KotM KG, is one of the best movie monster villains ever! In my opinion. Kevin, being the actual being controlling Mecha-G, was a cool move. I really really wish we could have gotten more King Ghidorah. The design and attitude are perfect. Anytime KG was on screen, they stole the show. It really felt like one entity with three minds. Correction: If your boss asks you to go home, you ask if there is anything else they need. Then you go home.
Incredible review. This movie didn't get the praise it deserved at the time, but I'm happy to see such fan support and praise years later. It's my favorite Monsterverse film and one of my favorite Godzilla films. Each of the monsters got such careful treatment -- the whole movie felt like a love letter to Godzilla fans.
Gotta love Mothra, as the distingtly female kaiju, lives a short time and only to support a male, dying to keep him alive.. Fucking love that.. Fantastic..
Ghidorah behind the cross is also an homage to him standing behind a Torii in "Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster" by Toho in 1964^^ And when Burning Godzilla unleashes his attacks on Ghodorah, the blasts come out in the shape of Mothras wings, which got me teared up when I saw it in theaters, it was beautiful and powerful and I loved it so much. KotM is by far my favorite Legendary Kaiju film, for many reasons!
I don’t know why some people say that this movie is bad. It’s one of my favorite Godzilla movies, there’s deep themes on how to take care of the planet . In a philosophical way that doesn’t overdose the message. Natural story progression- with relatable, understandable reasons and the characters aren’t forgettable their fun to watch. I felt there pain and struggle to move on and let go of the past. I felt envy for them especially from Emma and sympathy from mark.
Something i noticed during a rewatch of the godzilla movies with the GF, after he gets the boost from Dr Serizawa his eyes glow when doing his atomic breath. least they glow A LOT brighter than before he gets "juiced". It even carries over into Godzilla vs Kong
I know it's not within the Monsterverse but will there be a Godzilla Minus One breakdown? Because these Monsterverse breakdowns are so good, I'd love to see one for that movie too.

I LOVE King of the mosnters, it's not a perfect movie but it's so fun The only complaint for me is the cutaways from the monster fights maybe it was a smart way to cut costs but literally costing most fan criticisms It's still a gorgeous movie that emanates the word Epic
since we know in monarch legacy of monsters that gamma ray spike happens when a titan emerges from a portal shouldn't skull clawers from Kong skull island and the chameleons from skull island anime coming out from massive holes technically be considered a result of gamma ray spike happening considering skull clawers come from the hollow earth same for Muto prime's emergence in the comic Godzilla aftershock and even Kong coming out in Egypt from Godzilla x Kong the new empire we know that Barnes from monarch also mentioned the same readings happened before G-day for example she mentioned one gamma ray portal happened in Janjira power plant which makes sense considering an earthquake happened so that means the Muto emerged from a portal either from axis mundi or hollow earth.
While I mostly like this movie, it's not without its flaws. One big one for me was Mothra's depiction. Mothra is probably my second favorite kaiju after Godzilla, himself, and I really am not a fan of the way they redesigned her here.
While we can clearly see the personality of Ichi as the lead head I would mostly argue that it is because it is the center of the body. I have never seen these distinct personalities on display in any definitive way and do not understand the claims outside of fanboys parroting what was told to them. This includes Kevin who I guess is the dumbest because he got blown off? Anyone got examples?
The biggest example for most who mention this happens when King Ghidorah emerges from his icy prison in Antarctica. While the entire sequence is unfortunately dimly lit (with blue light being the only way to see things), we do see the three heads preforming various minor antics that help indicate their personal behaviors. Like whenever the middle head would often tug on the right head in order to have him focus, whom are referred to as Ichi and San/Kevin respectively. Though like you said, we get more of a display of Ichi being the leader of the three during these moments. The specific examples of San/Kevin's curious nature during this sequence would be whenever we see him lowering his head inspecting the Monarch soldiers below. This hilariously happens twice. First when the soldiers were shooting at King Ghidorah prior to the Titan using their Gravity Beams to kill them, and second literally right after said killing we see San/Kevin curiously licking one of the corpses.
@@2gredvisions8560 without dialogue or prolonged sequences I understand it’s a hard thing to sell visually Yeah definitely seems like fanaticism blowing a creative decision to just give them individual ticks just because, WAY out of proportion like it was major character development and/or plot point/device Guessing Larry Curly and Moe are almost fully out of the Lexicon now and while this could have been a simple nod to the mean abusive leader, the dunce and the guy mentally/physically in the middle by the creative team it has to be redefined by people who wouldn’t know it as a simple reference
@@jrich436 Basically yeah 😅. Fans have explored more further into these antics and behaviors of these monsters from the films. That's not to say that none of the kaiju don't have any of these traits, but it's clear that they aren't as prevalent in the film, nor were they that exaggerated. King Ghidorah in GKOTM still comes off as just an evil Titan regardless of whatever subtle ticks it has. So fans definitely had a hand with how these personalities are depicted as. You're also right about another thing, behind the scenes of the film reveal that the creative team did indeed intended on hinting at these differentiating behaviors of King Ghidorah through his motion capture actors.

A MUTO caused the Ice Age, The meteor that killed the dinosaurs Ghadora coming to Earth, and all the volcanoes and earthquakes is Rodan and another MUTO. Like all cataclysms were MUTOs, and Godzilla was meant to be the new one, and the humans made MechaGodzilla to try and fight back, but it didn't work. Then they find Godzilla, and only he can stop Godzilla. There, better movie than what we got

I enjoyed this film but thought the way G was portrayed in the 2014 version was the best Legendary depiction. Not as good as Minus One though which is AWESOME
To me this film was like the 98 American film. A knock off film. The movie was just a series of set pieces put together to have random mediocre fight scenes. The first one was so much better. At least GvK was a great film. I almost passed on it because of this film. The two recaps I saw of this film were immensely better than the actual film.
Asking for money at the beginning of a video is distasteful. At least save it till the end. If someone willing to give you money, chances are they are watching your video till the last second.

Asking for money at the beginning of a video is distasteful. At least save it till the end. If someone willing to give you money, chances are they are watching your video till the last second.
