It's actually real now. Wow.
It reminds me of two things:
1. IBM WorkPad PDAs that were based off of Palm PDA models and thus ran Palm OS
2. Motorola phones released in the 2000s that were aimed at businesses (if I recall correctly)
love the build, now i just need it in a smaller phone.. ffs every phone is 6.5+
Small hands?
@@feffrey81 6.5" phones are too big for the majority of people but everyone likes them for their bigger screen. Just give a 6" phone to any guy on the street, chances are he'll say it feels way more comfortable than his phone. Yet he'd still prefer the 6,5" phone.
@@feffrey81 Small Pockets, having a massive phone in jeans pockets is just uncomfortable.
No Just A Bloody Whiny Sissy MaryI Like And Rather More Prefer Larger Phones...Both Of My Motorola Phones Have A 6.8 Inch Display...I'm Beyond Ready For Phones With A 7 Inch Or7.2 Inch Display...
Smol pp energy
Don't see how this differentiates from the competition aside from the extra utility button. Atleast they could've brought back the micro SD card slot and a hifi dac audio jack.
competition are all glass sandwiches that shatter on the first drop, this at least has a durable back side, and good specs to boot
@@YounesLayachi you buy a phone to drop it? Didn't see that coming lol. Metal, plastic, glass, ceramic,... each material has its own pros and con, there is no reason to praise a phone just by material. And good specs? lol. Last time I check, plenty of other phone has 8+ gen 1 too, besides any 2023 flagship that has 8/8+ gen 2- There isn't any info about the price for this one yet, so how do you "think" they have good specs? Most ThinkPad doesn't sell for good spec/price, they are a little bit expensive for their specs (and yes, they bring with ThinkPad special to even it like keyboards, trackpoint,.... but that has nothing to do with specs)
@@YounesLayachi just use a case and screen protectors?
@@YounesLayachi I agree with your point about durability. As one of many Moto loyalists, I can say that is one of the main reasons I have continued to choose Motorola in the first place.
However, I do agree with 2xwishbone895's concerned about a micro SD card slot and HI-FI audio jack. Cloud storage is useless without Internet (not to mention expensive), so an SD card slot is still a valuable backup for those situations.
As for sound, what will you do when your Bluetooth headphones die? Hopefully, you weren't listening to something you don't want others to hear when your phone speaker goes on blast. 📱
@@steviegbcool glass back can shatter even under case. and a good protective case makes phone unwieldy wide
Did you see that lag using it as a webcam?
That's the laptop webcam, not the phone webcam
Should have rolled out with an X1 Nano-like lapdock - a "ThinkDock" - to leverage the Ready For desktop mode.
You hook it up to the Thinkvision M14 portable monitor and the ThinkPad wireless keyboard and use the phone as a trackpad for an on the go setup
On paper, it's everything you could want. Love the idea of a more accessible file system, as I personally treat my phone like a thumbdrive for work. Hoping they can give it a fair price.
I'm guessing 1100 us dollars.
$700 on their site
On sale for $449
its basically the x40 design with last gen chip. 4 year support is probably the best part here.
Actually exactly what I need. A good work phone. If the price is reasonable they have a customer.
1000$
$700
A qwerty keypad or stylus would have made some justice to the business class phone tag
This is an underrated point. Companies like Planet Computers and Unihertz exist exactly because of this.
Blackberry phones were still being manufactured as late as 2018 because all the major companies stop including physical keyboards. Windows Phone might have survived if they had even tried to include one.
Lenovo needs more than "military-spec durability" to stand out in this market. Motorola ALREADY has the reputation of having the most durable build quality, so that's not something "new" for this brand. 🤷
Slide out keyboard from the side like old business phones would be rad for this "ThinkPhone" and easily distinguish it from the competition ...
All that development cost for a niche phone makes literally zero sense
I love it. And I love the size despite people complaining about it. One question - you showed images of quad lens/sensor array on the back, as well as a smaller dual lens array. Any idea which we should be actually getting?
Nevermind, my eyes were playing tricks on me. I hope they price it right because they can most likely take my money.
A blackberry alternative?
Not without blackberry Hub Email or at least something similar to Blackberrys email client.
I would love to buy this phone, only if it was around 5" / 5.5" screen size, a compact phone.
The charger would have to come up with 2 ports, so u can charge ur laptop and ur phone at the same time
Or just connect your phone to the laptop.
Why is there so many wattage variants around the 65 watt mark? I've seen 65, 66, 67 and now a 68 watt
They should make a laptop where you can drop it in as a track pad like the razer phone concept but it will be an actually laptop with its own cpu
If it’s up to par with other think products then it will be the best android phone for heavy use
Not showing where and how the red dimple works?!?!
I'm trying to understand exactly what this phone offers over any other Motorola phone and just using the 'ready for' app.
Is this phone coming to the UK?
Sweet! perfect to go with my x1 carbon
Not sure it's going to... in a corporate environment the phones are either coming from the carrier contracts where those other companies now have majority of the market, or are bought by corpos themselves. In the latter case extra attention would be given to battery life and extra WiFi hotspot oriented aspects... after all these phones might be given to on-call duty personnel and then not CPU performance is king, but rather guarantee that the employee is reachable across the globe and it is possible to perform work duties using it in case regular network is down at certain locations. Finally, it's going to be the security-first approach to management of devices to keep the devices free of any CSGo similes ;) and to make sure company secrets remain secret and secure...
On one of the B-roll shots, a "5G UC" logo is seen, so at least we know T-Mobile will offer this phone, as well as bulk corporate purchases, so either way it's gonna be easy to deploy these phones as well as be readily available for consumers.
@Louis Subearth You're missing my point... Since this device is managed by Motorola in terms of support, potential buyers might not be getting similar support level across the globe compared to already established players, pricing per performance might also not be as enticing... One area motoed Think device could differentiate itself is by offering corporate level of security and mass deployment/management, similar to what they're offering for servers or computers in enterprise fleets. Since no extra special features have been brewed into this mixed product, there's a possibility that many enterprises will actually skip it. Had they already offered an Intel vPro like extension for the phone or have them manageable in greater detail through the Vantage software, it could make more sense for potential buyers to choose these over competitors with established reputation and servicing networks. Of course, if none of these aspects are impacting possible deployment of the devices in their region, then whatever the better contract features would be would skew the managerial decision making to one platform or the other.
Please bear in mind that if T-Mobile starts to offer them, they'll have to do it worldwide, in all regions, before any chance of being preferred by those in charge... as a company wide (as in global reach corporation) selection approved/tested and supported by internal IT personnel.
It's remind me the Motorola Droid turbo phone 2014
Would it be awesome if they have SSD in your phone
I like the overall look build. Neat and pretty cool for the most part but it's gonna really have to wow people and and do whatever it is that it does very well. I feel like most people are on either an Samsung or an Apple device nowadays if they gonna spend money. But last we have to remember the Blackberry. It was geared towards business and where is it these days. But good luck Motorola.
Very nice name !!! Very smart naming
Not too impressed with the phone, but lenovos new tab extreme looks amazing.
When you talk about the charger you've put it on screen upside down, so it looks like it's 89w...
You can tell it's an engineering sample from the circular defective at the top of the screen.
Cry about it
They should've made it 69 watt hour
I want this phone !!
You and me both, Doug. You and me both
@Chris Foster: and me. May I join you?
Please dont tell people they can drop there phones and it be okay. thank you 🙄
If they design this phone to survive drops, then it's okay. However LTT fans will have a field day when Linus drops it in his review.
@@LouisSubearth anything can be made to be dropped and it will still break.
I hope this isn't the final product, that logo/emblem at the back seems really tacky/cheap on a device that otherwise looks really good
Price plz
No stylus?
All of this is fine but was it really required ???
They did the charger dirty by stopping at 68
I WANT!!!! RIGHT NOW!!! the perfect phone for my needs.. :)
so they did what Samsung has had going on for years
Something fresh can't wait to own it
Stop faking.U r never gonna buy it.
I'm buying
Think phones...n8ce one...am buying one soon here in kenya
This is neat.
But does the little red "I" light up? My Moto G Stylus 5G has been pretty good and has ThinkShield baked in. The iPhone guys are jealous I can turn work apps off after hours.
Two years I'll take a peak at this phone or see if Samsung will win me back. Need an S8 Active replacement! My S8 was still kicking but after battery replacement it doesn't like wireless charging and the main port is just about shot.
Hope the next version comes with stylus 🖊️
If it only had a pen. You could have stole some Note buyers.
Any update on when is it launching in India.
pretty kool
Once again a nice looking phone without SD slot. Why? There is absolutely zero reason and justification other than being a creedy jerk to consumers.
Didn't Even Mention The Battery Size!!...
It's a 5000
Just FYI: "Military grade" is advertising nonsense.
4 years of updates? The battery will be shot in a year or two
Not a Motorola battery they last for years
three or four major OS releases and i'd even think about buying their normal phones. lol, such a big deal, idc about most of the rest by now
There's two more operating systems avaliable out there, but they aren't very popular.
@@ShadowGD_OfficialYT what?
@@homeape. Yup, there are 2 more.
@@ShadowGD_OfficialYT what do you even say, please elaborate
@@homeape. I'm saying that, besides Android and iOS, there are two more OSes on the market.
Just buy a galaxy s22 ultra for business Samsung Dex, Link to windows, Stylus, Better camera, One UI, can open multiple apps not just split screen at once and yeah can also do Microsoft office documents way better because of dex and 4 yrs of OS support and 5yrs of security and the eco system it has is more than this one for business proposes
Openning that calculator was slow…
Looks like a copy of the Motorola Edge, if you ask me.....
Why the hassle to make another model?
It's also a rugged phone as well
Now if only major parts of the OS would be open source... then it would be THE phone for work.
companies could create their own inferstracture based on the thinkphone.
Yes, develop on an OS on a niche phone in a market that’s already dominated by two other OSs
military spec: the cheapest possible spec that still can function
Think Motorola, Think!
If you buy these products you need to THINK FIRST. 😆😆
A bit strange to hear Sam talk about Motorola while still wearing the leash Sony put on him.
Promising device but at 2:13 webcam lag
tooooooooooooooooooo big, people need smaller phones that can be used by one hand
good lord the amount of lag using the phone as a webcam seems unusable.
Promises, promises. Interesting how long will this phone get software updates in real life scenario. Lenovo successfully shortens software updates to 2 major even on flagship devices. And OTA arrival time is a joke. When Samsung gets A13, many Lenovo (hard to say Motorola) gets A12 😂
Lol - challenge for motorola to go into the enterprise world... facepalm. Motorola being there successful for many years with their enterprise ready certified, pure android, ready for line of phones... (like g100 and many others) Our world needs informed journalists. Not guessers.
👍👍😘😘
Seems like a very generic high end phone. The software features, knowing windows, is hugely suspect. The word seamless does not exist in any sort of windows integration. I like the carbon fiber back and flat screen but that's it.
It looks amazingly CHEAP, jajajaja jajajaja Motorola's not getting the market transition
meh
No thank you I had a moto phone and I won't buy any more of there phones. They used to be a good company now they are garbage. My current phone is the pixel 6a and I get a lot of the features that I like at a cheap price. I don't stick with phones for 2 yrs plus my last phone was the iphone 12 pro max which is destroyed after it was run over toughest glass my foot apple.
Too bad Lenovo is Chinese. That can introduce security vulnerabilities that allow the Chinese government to tap in.
Sir you're being monitored online already but you do you care when TikTok is around doing the same.
@@Maximus20778 I do. Because tiktok is giving information to the Chinese gov. And that is not good. F China.
68 is one of the worst numbers to do that design with! WHY?!
Only 1 problem, that ''by Motorola'' needs to be removed
Nobody wants this..
The comments says otherwise
Remove the Motorola name and keep the ThinkPhone brand only. Motorola is a dead brand. Make the phone look like a business professional phone.
Probably u are dead
No lol

Would love a @jerryrigeverything durability test before trusting it blindly for business use
NO 8 GEN 2 THATS A FAIL RIGHT AWAY
Maybe they've been designing this since last year
