We spent some time on zoom with the CEO who explained a whole bunch of stuff to us about water filtering and their products. They certainly know their stuff! After more research, we will certainly be using C2O instead of the normal blue filters. Love the idea of the 20 micron washable pre filter.
Hahaha. I actually text Dustin when their video came out as we had no idea they were making one. Great minds think alike! Luckily the two videos are very different, so hopefully they were still interesting in their own ways 😁👍

Good information on these products. It led me to research at what level the public water treatment plants filter the water. EPA standards set filtration requirements at 0.2 microns. So both water filters are more than sufficient and you probably do not need one at all. But I will continue to use one wherever we camp. Thanks again for this hard hitting analysis and help from your able assistant.😎
That's great information to know! Thanks Tom. However, I can confirm that there was visibly some nasty stuff in the Camco filter that we have used for about 4 months now. I do worry about the stuff we can't see. Even without a filter, I'm sure none of this would be really harmful, but its great peace of mind to have it there. We have heard some horror stories. Most of them from campsites with old plumbing and well water.
@@BrazenBrits at our Marina there is some sludge build up in the town water supply that clogs everyone's strainers so I don't care what EPA standards call for they can easily slip through as I don't exactly see many EPA agents testing quite often.... We will continue to use camco with their sediment filter (20micron). If if it hanging properly it should go through more carbon and catch more particles. The other one seems to shoot water to the bottom of the filter and not much passes thru carbon. 1 micron can restrict water pressure also. It will depend on pressure at the individual rv sites. We have used 5 /20 ,micron pleated filter at the house, and there seems to a big difference in pressure. But a great video. Wonder what the foam does at each end? Maybe a type of sediment filter.
🤣🤣 we did notice that we missed a bunch of stuff that you addressed in yours, so even though neither of us had any idea we were doing this, by watching both our videos we covered everything 🤣👍
Id be curious how that stacks up against the filter system we built. I use a blue camco filter at the outlet and have a housing with a 5 micron and 1 micron 'whole house' filter positioned just before it enters the rig. At somepoint, I am going to compare the filtering our RV water system does against what our house soft water/reverse osmosis system.
Nice trivia about sizes of...um...stuff 😵 I work in medical imaging and I'm used to the micron term. Digital imaging (as well as digital photography) measures pixel size in microns and a detector element (in my world) represents a pixel. Each detector element has its own electronics which, depending on the purpose of the detector, could be 140 microns or smaller. In any case, pixels or mold, the dimensions are very small. Interesting!
Fascinating! I’d love to learn more about it. We have heard the term ‘micron’ a lot but never really paid attention to how big that actually was, so this was good fun learning the basics.
The guessing game was hilarious 🤣!! We want to get a better pre-filter and I think this might be it. I remember RV Diem did a review last year on Clear H2O. They liked it as well.
We really like the idea. Haven't used it much, but after talking to the Clear2O guys on zoom, they totally sold us on this. The science is real and when we saw the solid block of carbon for ourselves, we were sold. If you reach out to the Clear2O guys, they might be able to help you out.
Looks like I will be upgrading my filter since I drink the campsite water. I drink about a gallon and a half of water per day and the thought of individual bottles of water for me makes me cringe. Great video!

I believe so! It came in extremely handy on the farm. Nowdays we just use it for smaller projects. Most of the tools we ended up purchasing were dewalt by the end. Fed up of cheaper things breaking 😝
DO NOT switch to Clear 2O. Especially the Dirt Guard. I have purchased 2. In BOTH the lids just cracked and flooded water everywhere. After it happened to the first one, I thought perhaps I had done something like drop it. Nope the second one just exploded after only 60 days. As for the 1 micron filters. I have used those for 2 years. Suddenly my last 3 have only lasted 15 to 30 days before they completely clog. Different areas of the country and in all cases just city water. The dirt guard is approx $45 and the filters are approx $35. That's $80. Plus the Clear 2O cuts the water flow to under 2 GPM.
We have had issues with the 1 micron filters clogging up at certain parks and it is frustrating when they are expensive to replace. We love the DirtGuard though. We have had no issues with it at all.
Yeah, you said sperm and I was hitting the purchase button within seconds. We’re about to go to dinner…for some reason I have lost my appetite. Do you think the restaurant will think I’m weird if I ask for sperm free water? 😳
Yes it does reduce the flow if the water is dirty. We stayed at one place and the water pressure was awful, but came to find out the water was full of iron. When we took the 1 micron off all our sinks and toilets stained rust red 👎
Hi Tracy, after a year of use, it sure does. The canister part is 20 microns, which filters the same as the typical blue ones you can buy from anywhere. However, the green canister one blocks up very quick, which has been frustrating as after time it reduces water flow. It’s great as it’s filtering out the bad stuff, but bad because it blocks much quicker than the blue ones
Interesting one this…..when the park pressure is bad, the 1 micron really makes it a lot worse. But when the park pressure is good, we don’t notice. We did have an issue with a park with high iron that clogged the filter in a week. That was annoying. It did it’s job, but had to replace the filter.
@@BrazenBrits Thank you for you reply back . We are weekend warriors, we always bring drink water with us and use water in the rig for showers, toilets, washing dishes. Just trying to figure out if it’s worth it to go with this filter or stick with the standard Blue filter ? Your thoughts . Thanks, Heber
We have had issues with flow restriction at a couple of campgrounds with high amounts of iron. We believe it filters excellently, but it does clog much quicker than the blue one.
Hi Alexander. We really like the bulky attachment, but the actually carbon filter is a pain when it clogs. We’ve found that RV parks with high iron, clog it very quickly.
@@BrazenBrits i agree the only reason i didnt like it i was filling our in ground swimming with our well water for my sons b day but with that one the clear 2o it works to good it was gonna take week to longer to fill on time so i went with the blue camco one
The problem that isn't mentioned purposely is that rv parks/campgrounds have low water pressure. The blue camco filter allows enough water pressure to shower and use the faucets. The green filter reduces the water pressure so low that it cuts water flow down to a trickle. On a residential water supply with 80+ lbs of pressure the green filter would work ok at best but if you are in a rv park with 40-45lbs of water pressure you will be upset you just wasted your $$$ on the green filter. The comments on here are very misleading, don't waste your money. If nothing else buy a whole house filter housing and a 5 micron carbon filter and you will still have water pressure. 1 micron chokes water pressure down to a unusual amount
Hi John, we used this filter for a couple of months and it was fine. However, we went to a campsite that was extremely high in iron. Within 2 days, it was clogged. So we agree with you in a way. We do now carry the standard blue filters in case the green one clogs and like you said, we are looking into a whole house system that I have been recommended before. Still researching these, but hope to make a video when we decide on the best one for us.
Looking forward to your live video today. Enjoy watching your adventures in the Crystal River area. I’m originally from Pinellas County area.

You're not coming up on my feed so I figure comments might help
Hmmm. That’s strange. Hit that Bell icon to get notified when we upload. But thanks for actively seeking us out 👍
@@BrazenBrits Yes I hit the bell now
ive used the clear 2o with the bulky attachment has way to much water restriction
Wowww can’t believe that was in it 🥴🤢

It’s good as long as you’re not drinking it 😆
The problem that isn't mentioned purposely is that rv parks/campgrounds have low water pressure.
@@BrazenBritsdid you end up installing a whole house filter?
Bacteria and viruses require a Ultraviolet water filter afterwards too.
Absolutely 👍

@@adampetherick I was actually telling somebody about that just last week 🤣🤣
A micron equals 1 millionth of a meter.
