Jonny, thank you for the video today. Sadly, I had to rush my dog to emergency vet this morning. He was diagnosed with a aggressive cancer. He never showed any symptoms until this morning. We chose to let him go, no treatment would help. He left this world being held and given kisses. He’s now with his other beagle brothers. Pete was 12 and the sweetest, gentlest, snuggling dog ever. I’ll see you again sweet boy. My heart is broken.
So sorry for your loss and pain @DSM ! 🐕❣ I'm sure he'll watch you from above, and send you love whenever you need... Sending you hugs from Belgium (a tiny country next to France) 🙏🫂
I lost my dog very suddenly as well. Nothing to notice at all until the day before we lost him. It's tons of pain, but believe me, it gets so much easier for you over time. It's much better to think about the lives we give our loved ones than to think about their demise, because that's several years of happiness compared with one day of suffering.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Dogs bring such unbridled joy and comfort into our lives. Their love is truly unconditional. You did what you thought was best beside him. He knows that.
Making Bernese mountain dogs the greatest dogs to ever live and then giving them 2 year life spans and loads of debilitating ailments sounds right up this god's alley.
I'm so glad I live in a world that's said "um... So. God. Any actual point? No? Good."

@@Ysmir. it's not. They don't live only 2yrs. They live on average 8-10yrs, give or take. My Berner is currently 6yrs old and is like the puppy he once was. No health issues either. Bernese mountain dogs are the BEEEEEEEESSSSTTTTTTTTTTT!!!! They’re the dog I grew up with, the sweetest pups around. If you’re looking for a dog that loves and is gentle with small creatures (babies, other pets, etc) and especially if you live in a place that gets great snow, a Berner would be a perfect dog for you to rescue/adopt. First big snow each year my dogs would run outside and literally dive face first into the snow and then just stay their with their faces buried, wiggling around and snow plowing around the yard. They were bred to be working dogs in cold areas, and so instinctually will lay on you out in the snow in order to keep you warm. They’re angels! They are gentle and joyous and SO SO SOFT. Their hair, unlike labs or goldens who’s hair covers EVERY inch of every surface available, just clumps up and floats around your floor like tumbleweeds, so it’s easy to clean up! 😂 No drool like a Newfie or St. Bernard either!
