I really love military watches, and British Ministry of Defense were instrumental in procuring some of the finest examples in history. I especially love the models produced by Omega. Well Made video.

Probably the best video I've seen on these famous Omega military watches - very well shot and great audio as well, credit to whoever filmed this!

Great job, I think I’ve watched this one a couple of times! If you don’t me making a suggestion to your excellent videos, try and limit the mount of movement with the peg wood pointer. I think you can still point at the relevant parts, but reduce movement by about 50%, this will help us to focus better. I understand my thoughts are jus5 mine, you or other viewers might not agree, that cool. Thanks for your videos, I watch them all and always give a thumbs up. Ta..

Hi, the omega forums are good for information.
Here is some info that I found from another collector...
"The RAF Issue Omega '56 is a handsome watch. These have a WW2 Omega movement taked from earlier AM pilot watches. The Omega '56 were overhauled and recased by Dennisons of Birmingham in 1956. The cases are stainless steel and were called an Aquatite Case. They have a screw back and are marked AM for Air Ministry, 6B/159 and a serial number shown as XXXX/56. The inside of the case back is not marked."
My watch has a black dial, while others are ethier white or they still have their original dial.
The movements for the 56 were originally in a 2242 case, which was made of an alloy called duralumin.
But duralumin wasn't strong like stainless steel, and had a snap on back that wasn't waterproof.

I can't attest to the British usage of "dohickey" but in the USA's colloquial English, the expression refers to any mechanism or object whose name is not known, especially if the object has some function which bears on the subject being discussed. It seems appropriate here, for sure. By the way, I very much like your videos and your manner of presentation, straightforward and shorn of gimmickry. Thanks!

Thank you for the movie! Very nice work.
I have one question: does this tritium dial have an afterglow in the dark, after it was exposed to bright light? My IWC Mark 11 lume looks similar and has a afterglow, and I am pretty sure it was not relumed with Luminova.

Great film thanks, I don't know a great deal about them but I have a AM 6B / 159 1792 /56. It was serviced by omega before it was gifted to me and has no arrow. Anyone know how I would find out more about it? Lovely watch

Nice job, nice watch! Do you only clean the case or do you very lightly polish by hand with a cloth?
