You'd think that a scaled down vapor blasting unit would be available for watchmakers these days to clean the staining from the larger, less delicate parts.

I lost my father in November and have his 1960 Bulova "President "E"" watch given to him for graduation by my grandparents that loses 3 to 5 minutes a day that I hope to restore and eventually pass on to my nephew. For what it's worth, you have been an inspiration.

What a magnificent timepiece! Looking great for 80 years old too. I have to admit I always find the slow-mo shots of case parts going into cleaning fluids in the videos extremely fun and satisfying. Very cool to see you repping the BHI coat too. Ps. I think the neighbours' dog is a big fan of Casios.

Thank you dear Stian for this wonderful treat. My guess is that this watch must have been one of the last ones to have been built to these specifications as the war in Europe made it so much more difficult to find quality materials to build such marvels. Most watchmakers have told me that watches made in the 50s - when high quality materials were available again and precision technology had taken a leap - are simply the best, but this one is truly spectacular. And very, very beautiful.

I particularly enjoyed hearing about some of the swiss manufacturers history whilst you worked on the watch. That in itself was a wonderful addition to your explaining the workings and reasoning of why you choose to do or don't do something when restoring the watch. Thank you.
I'm not a fan of busy looking dials, but this watch really pulls it off. It doesn't hurt that it's black on gold. It's a stunner. This is the only watch repair channel where I can sit through the entire video from start to finish.
Another enjoyable video. Unfortunately I to was made in 1941. Like the watch I to am a bit stained and dirty. I am now looking for somebody to fit me with a new main spring. All the very best. Mick🇬🇧

Hello Nicolas, nice watch you're working on! I simply use model paint for hands without lume. There are some nice kits with all kinds of colors you can get for a good price.

I've been wanting to ask...with all the pivots, levers and springs to lubricate, why don't you lubricate the teeth on cogs, with the exception of the escape wheel? ....and I see at about 26:00 you answer my question 😊
With each of your videos, I learn more. Thanks for the tip about using a pin vise on the arbor when refitting to mainspring. I've wrestled with that issue in the past.

Great work Stian as always. 80yrs. hmmm, I stopped being impressed with modern clockworks and gears when a few years back I saw a programme about the Antikythera mechanism, called The 2000yr old computer, it's about 2010yrs. now😁. The way they solved the problem of showing the moon's phasing without elliptical gears, very clever. Lot's about it on yt. Also on yt, Mechanical Marvel's - Clockwork Dreams (BBC). 59:24sec. is also great viewing on all things cogs and cams, enjoy.
RUclips sent me here after a Nekkid Watchmaker video. I was very pleased with your presentation, commentary, and cinematography. I've always found Omega to fit my fancy more than many other brands; but this one was mind blowing with the layout and amount of parts. Granted... I only own a smart watch; my appreciation for fine parts and the craftsmanship of watches still strongly exists.
Hello Stian I am watching you on RUclips on my big TV and writing this along with you. As you do it on my phone. Obviously you are a very skilled watchmaker. I have done one repair on a Omega speed master. I have been doing watches and clocks and continually watch your tutorials for updates and ways to improve My skills with fear and trembling to sort out a problem with the keyless plates. Bent and and also the screws were wrong... 2 years later it is still going wonderfully. Thanks to you Stian I was able to look and learn and do the job. Thank you so much. Now I'm looking for a brass anti magnetic. Curled. Where is the better place to get watch maker tools.. may God show His kindness to you in Jesus name. In whom is eternal life.
