I purchased my '15 RC-350 F Sport early last year with 43k miles, back when you could still find them for under $30k. It's harder to find them now for that price. I've racked almost 13k miles in the last year, and I can say, it's been a joy to own. One doesn't purchase this car for its performance - if you do, you'll be disappointed. My first vehicle was a '95 Toyota Corolla, and that car racked 200k miles (and sold it to a friend, who's still driving it!). I then went to Subaru (because I thought they were reliable - now that was a mistake). Went back to Toyota because it proved itself to me. This vehicle is heavy, but that's part of the reason you buy one - comfort. Just like Topher said, it's a GREAT daily driver. If you want speed, then lease an M340i or similar, and don't worry about the maintenance costs after 2-3 years. However, as someone who keeps their cars long-term, I love the nearly maintenance-free cost of ownership of this vehicle. It has just enough power that if you want to have a little fun, the 300hp doesn't disappoint. No matter what car you buy, there's always one that's going to be faster than you. Having the ability to be comfortable day in and day out, out of a reliable Toyota/Lexus makes it worth it, in my opinion.
I bought my Lexus RC350 Fsport AWD only 28k miles for $28,000 plus tax $32,000. I was talking to the Lexus dealership the last person who had it was a lease so he took good care of it. it’s been sitting there at the dealership for quite a while. I live in Minnesota so not a lot of people wanna have coupes store for most of the year. It snows for 6 months. I drove my Lexus all winter without any problems through 8 to 10 inches of snow plus I have snow tires so the traction is amazing. I was going to hold off and get a 2022 model but to be honest they look the same besides the screen on the inside.
Has it been expensive to own? I'm assuming you've done just regular maintenance by now since it's a Toyota product. I really want one of these and funny enough I have the same Corolla 🤣 still going strong. Kinda wanna keep that one too though. Reminds me of my childhood.

The lack of manual is the only reason I didn't buy an RCF. Lack of driver engagement is big for me. I love Lexus and I own a 460 myself as my other car but I opted for a Type R over the RCF used due to driver engagement.

I bought a used 2018 RC350 Fsport RWD a year ago , and the best way to sum up this car is : it’s a jack of all trades , but a master of none . And that is just fine . This car is more of a grand tourer , it can be comfortable and cushy or change the suspension settings and it stiffens up to be more sporty , with a good balance , not too harsh . Interior is subjective, but the Roja red interior looks beautiful to me . This car always gets a lot of hate , and if I were in the market for a new one I would just take my money and plunk it down on a used RCF , but everyone has different wants/needs .
I always see people say these cars are more "GT car" than sports car, but I think it's just how Lexus tuned the car. If you put proper tires on this car it can really hold its own in the twisties. @@mattmc8391 Agreed with the two of you here, I have a '19 IS350 AWD F-Sport and this is actually a good driver's car when taken on the twisty back roads, on the stock 18" F-Sport wheels and with stickier rubber and the car in manual / Sport S+ modes enabled. The 6 speed manual shifts are decently fast when the revs are high (ie. see 13:03 in this video when Chris upshifts from 3rd to 4th), and the car feels very confidence inspiring around bends. It plants itself down and doesn't wiggle or give me any unsettling feelings. The steering wheel weight and feel are pretty good even for an EPS rack, and the brakes are just right.
For anyone who never experienced driving with adaptive variable suspension it’s such a game changer my 2019 Avalon Touring has it. It rides so different in a good way compared to the other vehicles I’ve had in the past
It’s a great way to drive, I can change it to 4 different settings in my car. Auto/street, sport, track and custom. Custom is great when you want auto/street suspension but sport or track transmission and steering. And supposedly it adapts to what your going over as well. It’s not as good as say a high end Mercedes that scans the road and adapts the suspension for potholes, bumps etc. But my car isn’t a luxury car it’s a muscle car so there will always be trade offs. But it does a great job for what it’s built for and if I want there’s a aftermarket Electronic suspension module that improves each mode, from what I read Mopar left a lot of headroom for improvements and this will make auto/street mode way more comfortable for shit roads and sport and track are leagues better then stock. And you can customize it yourself as well and best part it’s plug and play. So there is an option to make it much better if I want it
Turn off traction control (hold the button down until the yellow trac off light is lit on the dash) and then the car will let you hold revs and bounce off the rev limiter in manual/sport mode. Adds some more excitement when you drive it to the limit!
I just got 2017 F Sport. So happy. The interior is so quality, the layout is perfect, plenty of physical buttons, amazing seats. Exterior design is amazing, tons of stares, and people think it's from the future. As for performance, the car is fast, stable, and super comfortable. I think people may disagree with me, but that's fine.
A lot of people dont know this. If you change the spark plugs from regular to ruthenium and install K&N air filter not the cone, the car screams. Ruthenium spark plugs are not cheap. 14$ a pop and you have six to buy. I replaced the spark plugs on my 16 350 f sport at 62k miles. Such a big difference. And spend the extra $60 bux on the K&N air filter. You wont regret it. Dont do muffler delete or cold air intake. And the Ruthenium spark plugs will last you 200k miles.
We had a 2019 Lexus RX 350 F Sport that we traded for this car in Caviar. Same everything as presente here. People whine and bitch there is not enough power here...until they drive it. Lexus drivers (other than LFAers) generally don't seek high HP cars but rather cars that handle well, hold their value and are reliable. The RC 350 does have enough power and the handling is perfect. It is solid, takes all roads without issues and can manuever without much hassle. I tested the IS as well but it just seemed to be too...youth oriented. One thing I love about the RC is you don't see other versions on the road. I've had it for four months now (waited 3 months for one in NY state) and I have NO complaints but a ton of compliments from people of all ages. I look forward to years behind the wheel of this luxurious and beautiful car. Happy owner here!!
I had this same exact car when it came out in 2015 and it still remains the same. Not sure what Lexus is doing with this car but it needs a serious overhaul! Great review as always though.
From the way I see it, they aren't exactly selling like hotcakes, so im not sure if they would dump more money into R&D for it, but who knows, I'd always love to see an updated RC
Nice to see a "regular" RC on the channel again. In the local Lexus meetup group we have a member with an Infrared RC and my goodness, that color looks great in the sun. It is really strange if the RC indeed doesn't have lane centering. My '21 IS 350 does have lane centering, and I actually think it does a good job. Not perfect, as sometimes it can get confused as to what's a lane line versus just some etching on the pavement - fun times. But on nicer-paved highways it is perfect. My ASC also remains off btw, I just cringe at the fake-sounding piped in audio.
I'm not sure what "handling straight out of 2010" is supposed to mean, but this thing will take corners really nicely. I can't think of another car in this price category with double-wishbone front suspension other than the FWD-based Acura TLX, which is not even in the same ballpark in terms of chassis balance and also weighs a lot more. I will say, the all-seasons that the car comes with from the factory are terrible. New tires alone make a huge difference, and I would recommend budgeting for some if you plan to drive this in the mountains or in any spirited fashion. I guess you didn't watch the video and hear that Chris actually likes the car a lot in spite of it being somewhat dated when it comes to the drivetrain and tech. For me, I couldn't justify going RC, since it costs more than an IS and has two fewer doors AND is somehow heavier than an IS. So I ended up getting a '21 IS 350, and it is my favorite car I've owned ever. Mine is RWD though, so I do have the 8-speed, which is a decent transmission - sure, it's not as nicely programmed as the ZF in the wife's BMW, but it is pretty smooth and does the job in the twisty bits. I just really like the look and seating position of the RC, but the IS is undoubtedly more practical - same great chassis though.
@@ARentz07 …Because Chris is incredibly biased towards Lexus and Toyota and this is why I stopped watching his channel a while ago. Every single other reviewer complains about the heinously outdated engine, transmission, tech and interior that is in your IS as well. I actually drove a new IS350 and couldn’t have been more disappointed. Even a base model BMW 330i beats it in every single way.
its a sharp looking car (the refresh and that color did wonders for the styling), but the tech and drivetrain are nonstarters for me. 60k is a lot of coin for a mid 2000s drivetrain and tech (with Apple carplay slapped over it)
You would rather be the test mule of new un tested parts rather then bulletproof parts that have been refined and perfected over the years. Remember why ford chevy and dodge don't make cars They were always redesigning making newer and shittyer parts
There is only one reason to get the RC350, and that's for looks. Otherwise it weighs more than the 'new' IS, has less interior room, less practicality and it costs much more. I wouldn't be surprised if Lexus kills it off and doesn't bring it back when its life cycle is over, because the 2021+ IS is a better car that has updated tech (ie. touchscreen infotainment, electronic parking brake) and much sharper looks, more practicality, for less money and with the same build quality. It isn't built from a frankenstein platform like the RC, which has components from the IS Convertible and GS. As for the V6 and 6AT - I have a '19 IS350 AWD F-Sport myself, with the same powertrain, and it's true that it is outdated. It was designed for an era of performance 8 years ago. The manual shifts are slow when you're driving the car normally, but speed up when driven hard (13:03 is the best example of how fast it shifts when the car is driven hard). However, I still think it's a good engine/transmission combo because it shifts smoothly and quickly when left in auto mode. In other words, it's still a fast car with more than enough power for daily driving. A lot of people commenting on the car's lack of power haven't actually even test driven one, let alone owned one for any length of time.
I bought the 2021 IS instead because it looks just as good and has the updated touch screen infotainment which is a massive help compared to the mousepad. This has a similar infotainment to my 2017 Lexus IS. However, wow, this really is a gorgeous coupe 100
For the price you can get a well sorted out RCF for the same amount and similar gas mileage if you keep your foot out of it. I bought a 2015 with 65k miles and full bolt on and stage 2 tune for $48.5 and it's a pretty good value I think.
Love your reviews, I purchased the Acura TLX 2021 A-Spec after watching your review and have really enjoyed that car for the past 2 years. Now I’m thinking of getting the Lexus 2023 RC 350 F Sport rear wheel drive 8 speed automatic, I would like to get your opinion. Thanks 👍
The problem is that the Rc is basically the same car as the Is, the RC is more expensive for the same exact engine too. The difference is You’re getting a 2 door car just to pay more insurance.
Things I enjoy: Refinement Handling Performance Confort. Things I don't like: Cruise Control on an adequated exterior stake instead of the Steering Wheel. CC must be turned ON everytime you turn on the car. CC Distance resets back Max eveytime you turn on the Car. Nav takes over everytime you turn on the car. Radio station selection not user friendly. Engine Noise through speakers is Bogus, no boy racer here. I just wish that Last Setting would be the norm like Acura.
Beautiful car. I’d love to buy one. I was surprised to see though an IS 500 F sport is only about $7k more. I’d probably shell out the extra money for the IS 500.
Wife and I are looking at this as next purchase. Gives us the sport car feel but with Toyota/Lexus quality which is worth something. Had been looking at Mustangs, Challengers but we drove the F sport ... loved the power but sorry Ford and Dodge ... you don't touch Toyota/Lexus quality. Question - thoughts of AWD v. RWD? We moved to TN so yea, could easily be fine with RWB however I see the safety and control positives of an AWD version even in SE TN. Thoughts?
My only gripe with the exterior of this car is that monster truck looking ass wheel fitment. If it was lowered by just an inch or two it would look so much better.
Really is not a bad car. Awesome daily driver and touring coupe. But if you are handy with a wrench or have a warranty, the Germans rivals, especially BMW, dominate it.
It's sad, this car has so much potential to be exciting, but just doesn't deliver on any level. For the same price (or cheaper) a m240i delivers RWD bias fun that will actually oversteer, a monster engine with great sound, near perfect dynamics, and a crisp automatic transmission. ... I like the idea of owning a Lexus, but the reality is their cars just don't deliver what I need as an enthusiast.
The RC and IS look amazing exterior wise but the interior is so 🚮🚮🚮 Honestly wish they updated the interior with something similar to what the new NX has
If they could update the interior to look like the new Camrys and give it the 8 speed ZF transmission, the RC F and IS500 would actually be better values for the money. As they are now, thoroughly lackluster when compared to other vehicles in the price point
The basic RC350 would be just right for me - I don't like all the tech & don't need the extra "sport" & less comfort of the RCF. I think the RWD versions will deliver a bit better mpg compared to AWD. I agree - that touch pad has to go. & isn't it a bit crazy to have white seats - asking to get dirty quick??
Unrelated, but I watched your Arteon drive and shreds with many of your points! I have an Arteon myself with a stage 1 tune from APR and it’s a totally different machine, would be fun to watch you drive one of those.
They have a twin turbo V6 in the LS500. There's now a hybrid turbo V4 with ~350 HP and over 400 lbs of torque. Lexus is slowly moving towards newer powertrains.
Lexus should of intograted the whole dash and infotainment system into one big iPad so when some thing breaks I'm paying big bucks. Hahaha people are such 🐑 repeating the same talking points
I have a 2021 IS 350. The interior is very similar. The RC's infotainment screen is pushed back further into the dash, and it has different seats and door panels than the IS does. Overall, they are extremely similar though.
A "sports" car for well over 50k that limps along to mid 5's to 60? Complete deal breaker for starters. Center console is another no go for me...my own taste i guess.. The term "dated quality" amused me...Load this up for 60 or would you drive a new M340 for the same price with fewer options? Or base price the 4-door 500 with "dated quality" for 62+? Which will give you less brain damage in the shop? The Lexus of course. Is it enough to override the M340 that really scoots down the street with far better MPG. Not for me.

Even a base model BMW 330i beats it in every single way.
please do more videos in the rain/wind, love the noise
its a sharp looking car (the refresh and that color did wonders for the styling), but the tech and drivetrain are nonstarters for me. 60k is a lot of coin for a mid 2000s drivetrain and tech (with Apple carplay slapped over it)
You would rather be the test mule of new un tested parts rather then bulletproof parts that have been refined and perfected over the years. Remember why ford chevy and dodge don't make cars
They were always redesigning making newer and shittyer parts
Just get the RWD model. Weighs less, costs less, and has a better transmission.
@japanwatchconnection I'm a fan boy of my hard earned cash I don't like to spend. You sir are a fool they're easily separate from there money
@@mattwood3773 I’m with you bro. I’ll sacrifice performance for reliability. Hard earned cash fanboy lol.
0:57 “Very, very beautiful and white”
I got my eye on you Christopher 🤨😂
Reliability as always love Lexus
Lexus are nailing the designs
Yes the exterior design
Sarcasm?
Lexus is behind everyone else. They always play catch up.
I bought the 2021 IS instead because it looks just as good and has the updated touch screen infotainment which is a massive help compared to the mousepad.
This has a similar infotainment to my 2017 Lexus IS. However, wow, this really is a gorgeous coupe 100
Congrats, I've also got a 2021 IS, best car I've owned so far for sure.
@@ARentz07 yeah, same. Lexus gets hate for being dated but tbh, I like it more than the Bmw i had prior lol.
Chris, Quality never gets dated. If there is such a thing as a sensible sports coupe, the RC 350 AWD is it. 😉
Ugh shut up fanboy
Lexus interior is always pleasing to be in.. they shud make the manual gearbox too
Better than any BMW
Thank god everybody is adapting the HD Apple CarPlay. With 1080hp,not just 720hp
I wish I had apple carplay with 1080 horsepower
I'm in LOVE with the white interior! Mine has the black, but I wanted the white or red. ❤
"Mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission" yes it is overlooked
For the price you can get a well sorted out RCF for the same amount and similar gas mileage if you keep your foot out of it. I bought a 2015 with 65k miles and full bolt on and stage 2 tune for $48.5 and it's a pretty good value I think.
Kinda a lot for that many miles my dude.
Not a good price and keeping your foot out of it justification is dumb
@@851995STARGATE it's full bolt on with stage 2 tune. Try buying a fully sorted out car for the same price.

dont need to do a refresh when you get everything right. nice thing about lexus. they build something and get it right
2022 with that interior is troubling. We all know about lexus reliability reputation but it not enough to stay competitive.
Than keep throwing money at bmw & mercedes for utter junk.
They're still doing 6-speeds in 2022 jesus Lexus.
Difference between this and an IS 350 2023?
Love your reviews, I purchased the Acura TLX 2021 A-Spec after watching your review and have really enjoyed that car for the past 2 years. Now I’m thinking of getting the Lexus 2023 RC 350 F Sport rear wheel drive 8 speed automatic, I would like to get your opinion. Thanks 👍
Amazing but what's up with the CD ROM in 2022 ? How come they did not replace it with MP3 player ?
They should have updated the HVAC control panel that thing looks like it's out of a Saturn
The problem is that the Rc is basically the same car as the Is, the RC is more expensive for the same exact engine too. The difference is You’re getting a 2 door car just to pay more insurance.
sounds much better than the supra i6.
2 different cars. 2 different audiences. Id be amazed to see one of this touch a supra with the feats the supras capable of.
This is like the land cruiser of two door coupes
My really enjoy my 21 RC 350 F SPORT BLACKLINE. IMHO, The best Luxury Grand Touring car for the money. This isn't a Sports Car.
Things I Enjoy:
Things I enjoy:
Refinement

Confort.
Things I don't like:
Cruise Control on an adequated exterior stake instead of the Steering Wheel.
Why would they change the transmission? BMW uses 8 speed on both RWD and XDrive
I love the RC-F there are sharp
I don’t know what it says about us, but we have the exact same taste in music. Every video I’m like “okay what’s THAT track” 😆
You ever thought about moving out of Michigan man? The weather over there is absolutely horrendous.
Why do you fuggn care? Be a man about things. You're so sensitive dude.
Thoughts?
Is this car discontinued for 2023?
How is the gas on this car? Is it a gas killer?

@@Jay-sb2xs Yes. That doesn't change the fact the RC isn't a sports car.
LEXUS NEEDS TO TAKE SOME NOTES
Make a version of the rcwith the b58 from the Supra/340i with a 6 speed manual.
Instant salesss!!!
I love your driving, can you shoot a video of the 2022 Toyota Corolla, but it is not a cross?
You can get a corvette 1LT for this price. Why would someone get the rc350 over a corvette?
I would - Corvette is fast but junk
The RC and IS look amazing exterior wise but the interior is so 🚮🚮🚮 Honestly wish they updated the interior with something similar to what the new NX has
It's not about the interior. It's the 6 speed transmission in the AWD trim.
@@JUNBUGSQUAT it is about the interior when it’s the same shit for like 8 years and still being charged like it’s brand new 😐
Both interior and powertrain is outdated by many years, would've been nice if they actually did something different with it...
Idk, people always say they like the interior of my IS, especially the Circuit Red seats.
@@ARentz07 yeah i also seem to prefer the IS interior idk why it just seems more analog? idk but if i was to buy 1 id get a ES
Better than q60
What’s up with the huge wheel gap?
If they could update the interior to look like the new Camrys and give it the 8 speed ZF transmission, the RC F and IS500 would actually be better values for the money. As they are now, thoroughly lackluster when compared to other vehicles in the price point
I just watched you review the 22 Mazda 3 Turbo 2.5 sedan; and I felt like you liked that Mazda more somehow
He does
Can you try and get your hands on the rwd version of this with the 8 speed as far as I know it’s far better
I have the same car with no Mark Levinson audio… the way they skimmed on the bigger multimedia screen pisses me off… but the rest is very nice
How does this interior look so outdated
This should have a better interior than the es but it doesn't.
that wheel gap is crazy.... looks like an SUV.
Used RWD 2015/16~ RC350 F-Sport vs GR86 for DD and fun car?
The basic RC350 would be just right for me - I don't like all the tech & don't need the extra "sport" & less comfort of the RCF. I think the RWD versions will deliver a bit better mpg compared to AWD. I agree - that touch pad has to go. & isn't it a bit crazy to have white seats - asking to get dirty quick??
51k for 311hp. That's a steal.
Unrelated, but I watched your Arteon drive and shreds with many of your points! I have an Arteon myself with a stage 1 tune from APR and it’s a totally different machine, would be fun to watch you drive one of those.
It’s crazy this is heavier than a 4th gen GS350 AWD …
When are they gonna come out with the next generation RC?
They need to make these v6's turbo charged now! Same goes for the v8! Looks sexy!
They have a twin turbo V6 in the LS500. There's now a hybrid turbo V4 with ~350 HP and over 400 lbs of torque. Lexus is slowly moving towards newer powertrains.

A "sports" car for well over 50k that limps along to mid 5's to 60? Complete deal breaker for starters. Center console is another no go for me...my own taste i guess.. Which will give you less brain damage in the shop? The Lexus of course. Is it enough to override the M340 that really scoots down the street with far better MPG. Not for me.
