    Thank you Ann-marie, I love that they made guilding polish with it's own sponge on the top. I have bought "other brands" of waxes or polishes and many people don't know that once you stick your finger in it, it contaminates it and mold can grow all over it. You can wash your hands over and over and still it only takes one tiny bacteria from anywhere and it's done and over..So word to the wise. I found out the hard way. I LOVE this STUFF and have it in many colors and now they have come out with a Glitter Guilding Polish which will be beautiful for the holidays. I don't know if you can buff it. I have one color, the Hunter Green, but haven't tried it yet..Anyway, THANK YOU and THUMBS UP!!!!

    Thanks for the great tutorial, Ann-marie! I've never used the gilding wax simply because I thought it would be messy. Obviously I was wrong and I'll soon be picking some up and trying it out. Seeing the black card stock transformed definitely convinced me. It looks grand! I'm looking forward to picking up some new skills, learning about products and seeing what you come up with for all 31 days. 😄 Thanks again!

      Hi very very helpful tutorial thanks a lot but I have a problem with my gilded polish when opened is very spongy instead of creamy like yours hope you could help.

    • @AnnmarieVaux
      @AnnmarieVaux  6 лет назад

      Don't panic, it is kind of spongy and a bit springy (if that makes sense) mine has been used and used..and the texture just gets better - try it, and if it doesn't seem to work, work it with the sponge a little bit to one side of the jar by dipping and removing the excess back to the edge of the jar, then repeat, this will mix it slightly.. but overall just try it.. xxx

    Nuvo product doesn’t have a sponge, and I never actually learned the “proper” way to use it, so obviously I get it all over my fingertips. Because you’re right: you just want to dig your fingers in it at once. Fortunately, I don’t have a lovely manicure like yours, that I wouldn’t want to mess up. PS. Love listening to you speak. Your Yorkshire accent is “loov-ly”. 😻

    Hi Ann Marie, gilding wax & gilding polish are 2 different products. the polish is water based & the wax is solvent based.

    • @AnnmarieVaux
      @AnnmarieVaux  6 лет назад +1

      They are indeed 2 completely different products doing the same job, Gilding Polish used here is water based and the Creative Expressions gilding wax can be used with a blending solution to thin or use as a paint, however Imagination craft and another company I can't remember have gilding wax that is water based.. it's probably me if I have said wax instead of polish or vice versa :) xxx

    • @jennymullins593
      @jennymullins593 6 лет назад +2

      Cadence's 'FINGER WAX' is probably the other one. Definitely not like a wax...more like an irridescent watercolour souffle, same as Gilding Polish (which probably should not be called 'gilding'!). GILDING WAX, is solvent-based & will behave like a resist with watered down paint. Finger Wax, water based paint. C/Exp's Gilding Polish & Wax, seem to travel well over each other. The Gilding Wax should work well over other water-based products too (i.e. Finger Wax). In my opinion, it's just not economical nor particularly safe to use Gilding Wax as a paint. Please forgive me for saying I don't think the Wax & Polish were designed to do the same job, although the end result seems similar. I've applied Polish to embossed cardstock. When dry, added highlights with a latex-gloved finger, using a very light touch & C/E's Gilding Wax. Finger Wax & Gilding Polish cannot be applied as a highlight in the same was as Gilding Wax. It glides smoothly over raised areas giving a truly georgous, dramatic result. Thank you for your graceful reply, Ann-marie, I hope you don't take offence :)

    • @AnnmarieVaux
      @AnnmarieVaux  6 лет назад +2

      No offence taken, its great that you are a good authority on the waxes & polishes and prepared to share your knowledge with my viewers... at the end of the day, we all craft and learn from each other :) xxx

    Anne Marie, I just love this Gilding Polish. I bought several and I have used my Pearl Lustre before. I went to use it again last night and it was all gunked up on the inside. The lid was on tight. I am literally sick as it doesn't look anything like it did when I first opened it. I am very careful with my things as I am disabled and have very little to buy crafts after I get my ck. once a month. Can you please tell what can I do to fix it, or is it ruined? Could I spray some diluted water lightly on it or use a drop or two of glycerin? Please help? I really respect your opinions. Thank you.

      Ebay is great as well for it as well as Amazon.com and Create & Craft US.. hope this gives you options.
