Thank you for the video. I'm about to buy a new wheel, but my problem here is that, in South America, is almost impossible to get Thrustmster or any other brand except Logitech. Ive been playing for years with a DFGT, so, I think the "upgrade" should be great. What do you think?
EagerSnake can’t speak for oink, but I absolutely loved my time with the G27. Was a huge step up from DFGT, and a nice complete package. The pedals are far better than even the basic thrustmaster pedals
Thanks for answering. As I said, it is almost impossible to get a wheel except for a Logitech, so, I was really trying to decide if it's worth it to import a t150 or something similar. But the G29 I assume is going to be more than fine right? It would a real let down If I already had the 27, but since I came from the DFGT... Anyway, thanks again for answering me.
Agreed 100% with froncoberry,. From a DFGT, the G29 will be a fantastic leap, I went from DFGT to the 27 a number of years back and it really is worth it. DFGT is great for a first wheel, good price and lots of features, but the quality step up between that and a 27/29 is well worth it. I cant speak for the value of a thrustmaster, so I can't say one way or the other if it's worth an imort, but I can highly recommend a new Logitech.
I need to get a new G27. I brought it 2nd hand from CEX. Worked fine at first, but then got faulty. Turning to the right actives the buttons on the wheel. But I can't contact Logitech as I need a serial number, I really want it replaced.
The only reason to upgrade if you have a pc is getting it to work properly with newer games since the g27 software is trash now and sadly I've seen no new drivers either
Hey it's been two years. How do you like the wheel? Do you still use it? I'm thinking of getting a wheel and I wonder if it's still a good choice in 2021?
The best comparisson I have seen so far between those two wheels. Why do all g27 wheels seem to spin so weird? They look like they are not "centered", or that the wheel is not round shaped (it looks bigger on the left hand side). Does this affect the driving at all, is it odd?
I've never had any issues with that, it feels natural when driving. It's possible the wheel isn't a perfect circle which is why it looks as if it's not centered?
Pretty late but, simple answer I believe is: those micro misalignments from logitech caused the wheel to spin in a non perfect manner. It could be due to the attachment point of the wheel not being centered, or due to plastic warp/flex or the wheel simply not being a perfect circle. Imagine a stick connected to a bottle cap and if the tip of the stick is off-centered even just by a super tiny bit, the cap would spin oddly. Those old train wheels use this exact mechanism intentionally. Does this affect driving?: No it doesn't, probably won't feel it, even if you do I'm quite sure it wouldn't bother you.
I think the T500 is a rough competitor, and is nearly double retail price. Even the T300 which I think feature wise is not as strong as the G29 is a good £50 more expensive for the most part. I appreciate that both those thrustmasters use different internals to the logitechs but I suppose it's whether or not that's good value for money :D
Lol, the T300 Ferrari Alcantara is £100 more and is a much better wheel, with better pedals too. If you want something similar to the G29, go with the Thrustmaster TX Pro, wheel is on par if not better than the G29 and has better pedals (T3PA) for around £80 less. The G29 is literally the worst wheel for around £250. BTW. T500 a rough competitor to the G29? It's not even close, the T500 is miles ahead of the G29. Most prefer the T300 to the T500 due to T300's belt driven FFB. G29 with it's clunky gears is so 90s.
MrCatsEyes I have a playseat but my current house I don't really have a space for it so I don't use one now. Its good though, having a proper seat to put you in the right position is crucial.
I use to have G27 years ago and now I have G923 and ill tell you that G27 still holds it's own. Logitech needs to step up their game and really overhaul next generation. Maybe a hybrid system.....direct drive? Fanatec just dropped CSL DD for under $400....thats cheaper than G923....
I mean... yeh you're sorta right but when you actually look at it, the Fanatec doesn't come with: A wheel - $200 Pedals - $100 Shifter (optional) - $200 It doesn't even come with a mount... you just cant compare them. You're talking about a $1000 setup in order to have the same kit as a Logitech. For a beginner, that isn't feasible.
