What I love about the Philippines is the heavy amount of English speaking natives, and their friendliness towards foreigners in their country. What else could an American visitor wish for?
Great vlog, well done ✅.
Absolutely!
Great debut Isabella, well done! That was a pretty complete overview of the Philippines, both pro's and cons. I look forward to more segments from you in the future.
Very interesting video Isabella. Thank you! Looking forward to your next. Glad you joined the channel.
Well done Isabella! You have a very calming voice that is pleasing to the ear. I find the facts you presented authentic and will vouch for it, being Pinoy myself. Evan is good and offers direct, concise pieces of information, and presents them in bullet points. No disrespect to Evan but his perspective mostly mirror those of foreign vloggers who came before him. That is from someone who has been around a long time watching foreigners vlogging about the Philippines.
Isabella: I agree your voice is very and musical. Thank you
Thanks for the great video and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos but I hope Evan doesn't disappear. I really like his videos too.
Very nicely done. Thank you for the great information. Loved it.
I never thought I would see a Philippines expat channel advocating for modern day feminism, but here we are. Other than that, good video.🤷🏻♂️
I'm a traditional man myself Chris. But I'm not a communist - I'll let everyone voice their opinions.
@@TheSavvyExpat Absolutely. You hired these women for their perspective, not to tell them what to say. Also, differing opinions draw more comments that lead to more traffic to your channel. I subbed yesterday after browsing your videos for a few months. Your content is great!
I don't really see advocating for ending sexual harassment, ending the abuse of women, and some pretty basic human rights as being advocating for modern feminism.
I don't really want to get into it in the comments section of Evan's RUclips channel, but it sounds to me like you know very little about feminism, with her modern or historical, because I assure you that the things that she mentioned date back about 100 years as far as feminist ideals go.
it is absolutely not what you imagine modern feminism to be.
@@sosodave4192 Thank you for your insight and helping Evan's channel. 👍🏻
Isabella stellar job on planning, executing, and delivery of this episode. There are many questions and concerns that I cannot answer when we are doing our round table discussion on our upcoming trip over there which you covered. It helps to get as much intel as we possibly can. You covered a majority of history, culture, lifestyle, and most importantly family values. Evan, you should buy her a drink :-)
Thanks, Isabella nice first full savvy video
Great video. You did a very good job on the video
Superr niceee!
Great video, I agree on everything.
Thanks Kent
A great video. Isabella gives great points by a local.
Nice work
great vid.
Awesome video
Wow, a Star is born! Isabella will be a star. Just a matter of time.
Finally, someone who recognizes talent when they see it! I agree. She'll be a hit on the channel.
You did a great job for your first video. Lots of good high level info. You were easy to understand but I felt like you were a little nervous or anxious. Just try to relax a little and talk to the viewers like you are talking amongst your friends and relatives. I know you will get better and better as you go and find your footing. Good luck in future videos. I'll look forward to watching you bring more interesting perspectives.
Thanks for the kind feedback
Really enjoy your videos .. One subject I haven't seen deals with maids and gardeners and what you can expect to pay. Would appreciate any information you have..thanks
I am locating into a province near Iloilo.
Evan. this is the first of the videos of working with your team, and it went great!
one thing I will ask, for those of us who are yet to visit the philippines, is that when anybody is talking about a specific location, whether where they are from or a good place to visit or something like that, please throw up a map of the Philippines with a pin stuck in the spot.
everyone who lives there can take for granted that they know where all of the different locations are, but for those of us who don't we have to constantly refer back to maps and whatnot each time you mention a new location, but a quick visual graphic would be awesome to avoid having to do that.
another idea to expand your channel and drive eyeballs into your RUclips pay system, which is perfectly okay because you should get paid for your content, would be videos giving a short history lesson of a place.
for example, I'm under the impression that you live in BGC, so do a 5-minute video talking about the history of bgc. when it was founded, why it was founded, who some of its important people were, it's population, it's demographic breakdown in male versus female, it's age breakdown, for example is it a bunch of retirees and only a handful of younger folks, and stuff like that.
in fact, you could do an entire series of videos with your girls and other collaborators giving the history of various cities and provinces around the Philippines under the title of getting to know the philippines, or something like that. the idea is that it would give newcomers and tourists a bit of background and history about the country and different spots that they might end up in, and be educational as well.
Dave if I could, I'd want you on the channel! Love the ideas, noted.
Yes, excellent suggestions
💯🙏💯🕊👌
Fantastic
That's alot of pros and cons to remember. So I guess I'll have to watch it one more time. Lol !!!
Yes beautiful I will be there in four months I have a wife in the Philippines permanently yes God bless
She is a "modern" women, some guys like that. It is good to get her perspective so guys can choose accordingly.
Subbed! Not shabby at all for a first-timer. Welcome to the hood Isabella. Just be mindful that you'd be dealing with the harshest critics here. This is a tough space, full of foreigners mostly older men who are unhappy with their own country and trying to escape to the Philippines. These are some of the people who would even discriminate against and looked down on Filipinos while living in the Philippines. Kailangan makapal ang balat mo dito.
About time we have a cute Pinay here
Well done! Except i would advise NOT asking a Filipino for directions!!! I love the Philippines and the people but do NOT ask them for directions😂
🌹💚🌹
This was very informative video. I guess corruption is everywhere
this was a fantastic video, and I want to welcome you to the team.
I think your take on sexism was absolutely fantastic, and it is very heartening to see that the Philippines is able to look at the cultures around them and take the best and leave the rest.
considering that there are more women employed in the Philippines than men, at least based on official numbers, the sexism issue appears to only really be showing itself in the interpersonal relationships, and the demands for a traditional aspect of that.
I think it's very cool to see that the upcoming generations realize that equality of opportunity and equality of treatment are very good and admirable goals to strive toward.
for myself, I would love to find a woman who is fairly traditional and submissive in our personal relationship, but an absolute lioness to the outside world. that's the kind of woman that I could work together with and we could build an empire together, shoulder to shoulder against all of our adversaries but in a traditional submissive and caring relationship between the two of us.
and it seems like it might be far easier to find those traits in a woman in the Philippines then in the usa.
I should have elaborated on my post. We actually agree.
"The typical roles as to what men and women should do are still practiced and impressed upon the younger generations, wherein women are supposed to be reserved and modest, and men are supposed to be providers and protectors."
While there's nothing wrong with practicing these characteristics, what makes it wrong is that it becomes a standard for Filipinos to the point that it affects the people and the country negatively."
That was the part I was referring to. To say gender roles are wrong is pretty much an attack on conservative values.
Obviously, any kind of sexual harassment and assault is unacceptable in any culture.
Lots of microphone noise, tapping the desk.... Isolate your microphone.
Serious question. Has anyone seen a Philippine restaurant in another country? I am well travelled, but am yet to see one.
US - California, New York
South Korea
That's all I know. I don't really bother since I cook Filipino food.
I'm in Phoenix AZ and there is one less than a mile from my house.
in London, Finland, Sweden, Russia and a few more countries in Europe.
What's wrong with the fixers?
It’s illegal.
@@hinnyu7748 oh okay 🤷♂️ what do they stand lines in your place?
Philippines is the 2nd least tourist destination in ASEA in pre-pandemic 2019 statistics. Very few foreign vloggers care about Filipino food no matter how it is being billed and advertised as fusion from colonizer cuisine. Many thanks to OFWs and Filipinos that travelled in other countries for bringing what they saw, experienced and learned from their work and travel abroad today we have myriad of foreign cuisines popping up in carenderias (I don't like the word Street Food, it is fake) and in malls. Thank you OFWs. Thank you Filipino tourists.
What Filipinos cannot bring what they have experienced abroad is SIDEWALKS!!! Sidewalks are not really sidewalks. Cambodia and Vietnam, both 3rdworld countries, have wider, not only wider, really 1stworld wide sidewalks.
Great people but fried greasy food. Look how fat they’re getting
She is reading something. Honestly… i dont understand her… even though she is speaking english… its not spontaneous speaking thus the pauses of the sentences makes her ideas incomprehensible. Its not like evans short but hitting comments. Rambling is hard to understand. I did not finish the video. Its just constructive criticism… it feels like she concentrate too much on her looks more than the content of what she is saying.. ur going to bore the audiences with this kind of speech.
It's not constructive at all if you compare her to Evans. Imagine you were the one speaking there, and I'd be comparing you. A little tolerance and compassion go a long way.
She's not American so of course she has an accent. If you try listening (that means concentrating a bit) her words easily come through. You can speed up the video if you believe she's speaking too slow. I can understand your criticism but to mention her concentrating on her looks is just mean. If she was ugly I'd imagine you'd be even worse. This is her first video. She's trying to be professional. Cut her some slack.
I appreciate your feedback. Since this is a new venture for me, making blunders and having a lot to learn is part of this amazing journey, I believe. I hope you’ll stay tuned for the channel’s growth and keep giving us helpful feedbacks, Ruby!
@@Isabella-ky8kx Maybe try a slight "conversational" intonation as opposed to documentary style. Think Anthony Bourdain or Sonny (Best Ever Food Review Show).
I appreciate your criticism Ruby. Just keep in mind that this is her first ever video and she'll progress overtime!
how come it's like a dub over?
Ang ganda mo ate Isabella, may jowa ka ba?
It not being you was a bit of a shock.
Don't worry I'll be posting still
I was listening to you until you start talking about "sexism" a western culture thing! I would hate if the women of the Philippines started acting like western women😩
I know. I had to unsubscribe
Agreed, she dumped on the reason most of us married Filipina's. If she shats on their culture again I will bail.
@@Goodale006 Poor Evan, guess we’ll know who wears the pants in that family
Men and women are different, to act like they are is not a bad thing. Society has survived with this understanding of roles. Now people want to do away with what has worked and double down on the failed "new" way that does not.
Are you Filipino?
Dude you were one of my favorite vloggers. UNSUCRIBED
I'll still be posting Michael. I just added a few people to the channel.
As someone who lived and visited western countries, I disagree about sexism. These amazing women here are raised by amazing non sexist men. I mean that the men here volunteer to take on very difficult jobs and hope for a wife that appreciates and also works tirelessly. Foreign men tend to love the women here and their amazing upbringing.
Where’s Evan? Unsubscribe me please
I'm not leaving the channel lol
