- The wonderful minds behind Jet Lag: The Game have been at it again, and the game spans an entire continent this time around. For the past week, I have been poring over every second of their trailer, and I am now ready to tell you exactly how this thing is gonna go down. From Utqiagvik to Key West, here's what we know about Arctic Escape.

Yo I've only seen this level of sleuthing applied to popular shows like The Bachelor franchise, I really appreciate it being applied to my current favorite reality show.

From what I understand Flops happen 2 ways. The first is the morning flop which replaces all challenges with new ones. The second is after a challenge is complete it is replaced with a new one.
Yeah, that caught me off guard as they didn't mention it in the trailer!

3:54 They do have a rest period, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am, also sleeper train means transportation trough the night.
They did a podcast about this season’s rules. Not going to spoil too much from it, but:
You can take sleeper trains during rest period. Which is why I feel like you might have mistimed Ben&Adam train clips. I feel like there is bigger chance they were between day 3 and day 4 and there is no sudden “disappearance” for 24 hours.
I both feel like there would be too far from finish point if it was between day 4 and day 5 (especially since you claim both teams made it) and it’s just more logical for them to take clips mostly from first 3 days. They are known to still edit last episodes while first already started airing, so very likely they haven’t looked through material for last episodes yet.
Thanks for these thoughts. I think you are very right that it seems somewhat unlikely Ben and Adam would start day 5 as far north as Pittsburgh. I'll give you my reasoning as to why I think they took the sleeper train between days 4 and 5 rather than between days 3 and 4. It is partly because I also find it unlikely they'd travel all the way from Seattle to Chicago in one day. Also, they are wearing different clothes in the clips from the beginning of day 3 in Seattle than they are when they get on the sleeper train in Chicago.
About the podcast. I got a Nebula subscription and listened to it while writing the loose script I use in the vid. As you also imply, it would be a little bit in bad taste to put in the video (since the information is behind a paywall), so I decided to make the video from a non-Nebula subscriber perspective.

@@eddog6666 Someone actually helped me find it just last week! It turns out the clip of Michelle driving was actually from Alabama, where they're driving from Birmingham to Atlanta.

I never wouldve imagined that the trailer would be turned into a fun sleuthing game for so many people!! Personally, I wish they didnt make the trailers so revealing (I love going into the seasons blind), but I'm happy to see you having fun with it
Yeah, I was surprised how many of the clips ended up being identifiable! It made for a pretty cool sort of accidental puzzle where the context gained by finding one location led to the discovery of a harder one!
I completely understand anyone who doesn't want to know stuff like this in advance. I hope I put enough spoiler warnings in here that I didn't ruin someone's enjoyment of the season!
I'm impressed with how many things you totally nailed. Great job! I've lived in the Anchorage area for 30 years and have been to McHugh Creek and Earthquake Park and I would have had a hard time identifying either by the clip of the trees or stream.
Thanks! Earthquake park was the one location we didn't find before the episode came out, if I remember correctly. That one would've required a lot of searching and a good deal of luck!

Found out about jet lag a back at season 3 I've watched the first season at least 5 times, I used to rewatch every season when a new one came out but I don't know that that would take more that 12 hrs😅

I find it interesting how closely your predictions for ben and adam are, and yet how far the predictions for sam and michelle are too. (though to be fair, part of that is due to them deciding to drive to Montrose CO)
I find it interesting that there's no footage of dallas, for example.
Most of the late game footage in the trailer is from the drive to Montrose and the train to Pennsylvania. They probably would've used train and car footage from earlier episodes if they had had any. Lucky for us, I guess. We ended up seeing a lot of the late game in the trailer.
@@Hamfrags yeah, i guess thats what having like half the game being in alaska does. can't really drive or use a train there.
Yeah it took us while to get the info that led us to the Montrose route. I think if he had gotten that earlier, we would have pinned down Sam and Michelle's locations much earlier.

I think you could very much make a community out of this with people (like myself) who would want to help you in locating future trailers. Perhaps you can set up a discord or something?
This is a fun idea that I wanna consider. Would want to make sure there are proper rules in place to keep it fun and harmless. If I make something of the sort, I'll reply to you again.

Lol, that week-long wait is rough.
We could also try to guess from where Ben and Adam flew to Milwaukee. Milwaukee seems to be a weird choice. Why mould the fly to Milwaukee, instead of Chicago? Excluding places that are east of Milwaukee or too far south, there are direct flights only to Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver and Minneapolis. Seattle and Salt lake city are too far, I don't think there are very long distance tickets in later game, it would be too easy. Denver is possible, it is a huge hub. However, it's also pretty far and why would they fly to Milwaukee instead of Chicago?
Most probably they flew from Minneapolis. It's possible that they got 300mi ticket, which would not be enough to Chicago because it's 333mi from Minneapolis, but it would be enough to Milwaukee, which is 297mi (Airport to Airport).
I actually think you're more onto something with Denver! A small community of people have actually gathered around analysing these clips now on the Jet Lag Discord server. There are only around 5 clips that have yet to be located by now, and right now, it definitely looks like they flew from Denver. I've got another video in the works if you're interested.
