The deflector behavior has changed slightly since this video was recorded. Now you add a deflector to the stage, make it long, and alt-click along the line to add more points.
Lightworks edition doesn't include Particle Illusion, but you can download the standalone for free here and do this kind of stuff yourself : bit.ly/3d6lp4e
Hey boris fx please help me.i have after effects 2017 windows 10 but when i try to track the footage from my favourite mocha ae it does not respond anything i really love your software and really want to use please help.
It just doesn't track or it tracks incorrectly? Is this all footage? You're best bet is to hit up the Mocha forums (forum.borisfx.com) with a detailed description of what you're trying to do.
Ben, terrific tutorials on Particle Illusion. You may want to have a more detailed tutorial on the interdependency between the emitter parameters and the particle parameters; how one affects the other's magnitude and vice versa. Also, it would be nice if the Deflector Hits could be a bit more precise in adjusting how many particles pass through. For example, going from 100 to even 99.9 allows too many particles to pass through - what if one only wanted 1 or 2 particles to pass through at a given time?
Hi Sam, thanks so much for the comment. John goes into more detail in his part of this series about how the play between emitter parameters and particle parameters work. I'm not sure if you have seen those already but here they are : Emitter Controls : ruclips.net/video/vG5HXNjvsb0/видео.html Particle Properties : ruclips.net/video/b7OPaMQagsc/видео.html Particle Parameters : ruclips.net/video/3vxpew12rvM/видео.html I'll pass on the comment about precision with Deflector Hits. It seems like that should be fixable but it could also be a natural consequence of probabilities when there are thousands of particles on the stage. Does you project have a large number of particles? Whilst not ideal, the Deflector Hits value is keyframeable, so can be animated between 100 and a lower number when you want particles to spill, then back up to 100 when you don't.
@@BorisFXco Thanks Ben . . . I'll check out the links you suggested from John. Also, thanks for the tip on animating the Deflector Hits to see if one can gain more "granular" control over the amount of particles that pass through. Keep up the terrific work with your tutorials and live sessions . . . I'm trying to understand and wrap my head around the technology of particles and very much enjoy the learning process via your tutorials.
como se mueven los emisores dejando rastro y como se pueden ocultar para que solo salgan las partículas en AE y no se vea las letras BOUNCE Muchas gracias
The Deflectors were setup from the text (just traced around them), then another copy of the text layer was composited in front to give the finished effect. Does that help? Maybe we can do a quick tutorial about it.

I want that shirt LOL
Another great tutorial. Thanks. I've been going thru them ALL since I installed PI last nite.
Thanks! It is a cool shirt. Hope you're having fun with PI too.
pro tip: watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Westin Kamari definitely, I have been using flixzone for years myself :D
great tutorial, lot of thanks
Thanks. Glad you got something out of it.
How do you add a defector line point like you did around the letters? Thanks!

@@BorisFXco Thank you!
@@BorisFXco That helped 🥵

Si seria muy bueno, Muchas gracias.
Como se ponen los deflectores al rededor de las letras ? a mu me salen siempre 2 en linea
Deflectors changed a little in an update. They now default to 2 points, but you can add more with Alt-click, anywhere on the line.
google driver i could download sir.

If only Boris develop a particles system for Cinema 4D. It would be very cool.
Thank you for watching and for your suggestion.
