How can you stand having your hair under your headset? lets let some other female pilots weigh in on this. Ponytail or hair all over the place? And Music or no music and airplane sounds?
Hi Kay!! Old dood here of 73. I've been following your flight videos for several weeks now. I'm totally impressed with your flying skills. You mentioned that you and your parents are best buds. That's beyond a huge blessing. I had minor desires to learn to fly many years ago but just never got there. I was too busy working my daytime career and playing guitar in a semi-pro blues band. I never had a daughter (did have two sons) but if I had I'd be proud as proud can be if she turned out to be like you. I've always been in love with the DC-3. May I gently twist your arm to get a flight and test pilot run in one of the remaining DC-3's? That would be so cool!! Cheers and God Bless you and your parents. You guys are great!!
Good evening Kay, I noticed a leak marker at marker 15:24 on the mid-left side. I know that liquid leaks will find a path of least resistance and a way out. Being a trucker for almost 50 years, seeing a line that looks like it runs from just below the body up towards the rear of the aircraft. Can you have a look to make sure that it is not sinister? Thanks. Oh and by the way, thank you for the opportunity to hear you, over the ATC chatter, it is nice knowing what information you have and want to talk about. Thank You!!!!
I traveled the world as a flying Crew Chief for the Air Force and we always used the term "on the road" for our trips. Love your vids and running commentaries!!
Hi Kay. I have worked in Sedona for 20 years. Every day is always beautiful . There are so many great restaurants and lots of shopping. Hope you make it here. I always look forward to your videos. Fly safe!
Normally, I have to take medication to even get on a plane. With your continued commitment to safety, I don't think I'd have to take anything if I should ever be lucky enough to ride in a plane with you in command!
Another continuing shared flight adventure for us ground-bound mere mortals. Thanks for sharing. I know that Sedona area and runway pretty well as it IS a training exercise in MS Flight Sim 2020 - lol I suspect that for newcomers to aviation radio chatter and checklists it can sound like hearing an auctioneer for the first time. With familiarity with either the pace mentally 'slows down' and makes perfect sense. Needless to say you ARE an excellent tutor and a great example of how to process safe flight.
For a moment there I was half expecting you were going to receive a radio call right when you had a mouth full of bagel and cream cheese. 🤣 Gotta say, solid choice there, there's a lot to be said for an un-toasted bagel with cream cheese. (though I would most certainly be adding lox to that 😆) I really love the scenic tail-cam views. I'd love to catch you on a live again, but between daylight savings starting here, and ending there, that's a two hour time difference that tends to put them beyond my bed time. If you do go live tonight I'll just have to be on the replay crew.
Superb Kay. Coincidence, I eat Factor and agree with your description. In the last century (1978) I was grinding out my commercial and flew into Sedona a few times. Its described as landing on a land based carrier, but without the arresting cable. Density altitude is critical in the warm season. Take the ladies, but overnight and fly home in the early morning. Cheers!
Lifelong NM resident and some of the Lotaburger locations are still okay but, in my opinion, has been in steady decline since the original family sold off the franchise.
Hi! I have been to Sedona and Flagstaff in June 1992. Visiting the Grand Canyon. My Brother was at the German Lufthansa Training Center in Goodyear near Phoenix. I really would love to be there once again in this hot and dry Climate!😊
My first bagel ever was on a flight going from Pittsburgh to Charlotte. It was my "breakfast" that morning and it was not toasted, but was quite good. The Cream Cheese awesome too!
Would love to fly in the US , the scenery is fantastic. Here in Luxemburg/Europe the scenery is very green but in roughly one hour you‘ve seen everything. From the airport you are 5 minutes away from France, 10 to Belgium, 5 to Germany…
Welcome to the "Land Of Enchantment". I live high on the west mesa out by the Las Cruces, NM airport. I have an unobstructed 60 mile wide view of the Rio Grande Valley below from my back porch. It is like Hollywood at night. I call it a million dollar view. Since the airport is so close I use Flightradar24 quite a bit. We had a seasoned air show pilot put it straight into the ground out there at the airport last week. The last fatal was wrong fuel type put in airplane. We get lots of Medivac traffic through that airport. And another firm does ground detection equipment testing in a big ol' single engine Cessna 208. They fly 25 PERFECT circles per run 4 miles in diameter. Not sure how they do that. The circles all overlay each other perfectly and look like one circle only on FR24.
You tried my suggestions: visited Catalina Island (did you get a buffalo burger?) went to VNY (did you stay at Airtel hotel overnight? Santa Paula airport visit would have been on my list (Biscuits and Gravy breakfast) and challenging short runway for a Senica. Although Steve McQueen would land hid P51 Mustang there. Look me up if you make it to Tampa Bay area. Do a Key West/Bahamas trip? You fly great on auto pilot, and music sounds normal. I tried out those $1,000- Bose head set you wear. Gordie
@@billallen3002 I didn't see anything about a single engine TO, in current reports. Dense fog and spatial disorientation most probable cause. The pilot was 73.
Kay, I enjoyed this flight into ABQ. I lived there a number of years and it was like coming home. I flew in and out of Support just about every week (commercial) flights. I am not a pilot. Thanks for sharing. Hp
Do you plan on installing air conditioning in your plane? Are you able to do it, is it cost prohibitive or does it not bother you that much? Anyway, thanks as always for bringing me along on your flight. You always make it a joy.
Kay! Love your videos. I know you mention heading to Albuquerque, but could you include a short description of where from and to you are flying, maybe also the date? Something as simple as KPRC-KABQ, 20 July 2024 or such. Heck, if you want to nerd out and give the routing. Thanks!
Another great video. Thanks Kay. Let me tell you what I believe the difference is between you and the other streamers that I follow. When they are talking, I feel that they are talking to the camera. You have the unique ability (personality, skill, nature, whatever) so that when you are talking, I feel like you are talking directly to me. It is just you and me together in Mystik. That's an incredible ability.
Another beautiful flight. Well done. Question: Do you do your own editing for your videos? (Nicely done) What video editor do you use? Thanks Looking forward to your next post. 😎😎
Wonderful video as always, Kay. The terrain looks amazing from 11,000 feet. One question: in all the videos from this series of flights, the tail camera has been showing a stain on the underside panels. Is this simply dirty water thrown up by the nosewheel earlier, or has there been a hydraulic leak from the noseleg oleo?
Isn't blue smoke from fuel. Mabee she over primed it. Your hear hear counting to 6 or 7 before start.Valve guides would make more smoke when hot starting, and all the time. Needs a fast 123 count, then turn off fuel electric pump. See if Kay figures this one out for us. I'm so proud she flew into Catalina airport. I wonder if she took a experience pilot that's been there before. The hump in middle is what kill everyone!
I know that I have asked the question before but do you think you will fly commercial aircraft anytime soon you are a great pilot so I hope the opportunity happens for you … Great flying along , Peter retired ex Qantas
Question. I know turbulence doesn’t really bother you but do you find you’re more comfortable when you’re flying the plane yourself than when you are a passenger with someone else in control?
Kay, another great video. One question, is the smoke in the exhaust upon startup normal or a sign of oil leaking into the cylinders from the valve guides or past the rings?
Hi Kay, I've seen most of your videos and I have an observation, when you talk and ATC talks you are both at the same level. Is there a way you can turn their volume down while you talk? It's difficult to hear you when ATC talks at the same time. Otheer vlog pilots have found a way around this issue. BTW I Ilike bagels untoasted too. Have fun and take care. Happy flying.

Another great and informative flight, Kay. I really enjoyed it.
Things looked pretty bouncy up there!
Love the new plane. But I do miss the steam gauges of Lil’ Red. Nice being to able to see an altimeter at the very least.

There is a dirty streak on the underside of the fuselage. Do you have a slight leak??
Awesome flight , Awesome plane also keep up the great videos !
