The pig was not mistreated. Its destiny was fulfilled in becoming food for people. A nuisance was converted into a benefit.
Glad outdoors Allie doesn't submit to crazy psychotic RUclips censorship!!!
Just enjoy watching you guys do your thing, it would probably be a lot of fun hanging out, kicking back and having a few with you guys too. Such a down to earth couple..
Thanks for watching Colby!
Why not just take a headshot ? You had perfect opportunity
Option #2- if you keep it hard-frozen for 30 days, it also will also mitigate trichinosis so that gives you some wiggle room to cook it to a lower temp.
I read the comments before I said anything, an I was going to bring this up, glad you did
Interesting. I'll look into it!
With pork you should always brine the pork that way you don't have to cook it so long to make sure it's cured 👍🐝
For sure.
I've only been hunting a few times, but I have a question: why do hunters keep whispering after they take their shot? You just discharged a rifle. They know you're there, I checked.
Mostly just out of habit lol
Shoot them in the ear. Also, the livers are excellent for sausage, etc.
Have y’all looked into air conditioning/heat pump. It’s energy efficient and one unit can do both functions. Total win win
Check out magee homestead to learn how about pigs
Great Video. May I just make one suggestion? If you plan to shoot much big game, get yourself a bone saw. They are cheap enough and won't splinter the bones as a clipper will sometimes do.
We had hogs and Helotes Texas and Del Rio Texas. Yes they do stink. But the meat does taste good if you season it right. It doesn't exactly taste like ham. Has a different taste to it. My friend Alex and I hunt them. There's so many of them in Texas. I haven't seen your shows lately. But please send me more of your hunting experiences. Take care.
165 temp is plenty for wild hog, 170 is a bit much
Turn on your oven it will heat your home.
Hey Allie, I hit the wrong button.
Alligator would be a cool hunt. I've ate alligator before and it's delicious. Would love to see you get one and COOK it up. Take care and be safe. Happy New Year to you, Nick, your family and all your subscribers.
Hopefully soon!!
Hopefully you tested that hog for trichinosis. Unless cooked well, pork isn't safe to consume if it isn't tested. And if you get trichinosis, you will have it for life.
Pretty much every pig including your store bought pigs have that. Bears also have it. As long as you cook your meat to a safe temperature the meat will be safe to eat
@@davidcollier8170 jerky prepping never achieves "a safe temperature". And yes, I'm aware that bear have that, and no, not every pig has it.
you need to use a liquid marinade..let it soak 24 hrs
Unless your going to make a head mount out of a monster boar hog. You will quickly find out that sows make alot better table fare, especially a lactating sow, absolutely no gamey flavor at all. I try an only take sows under 100 lbs but thats just me. Thx for the vid Allie. READ TONY WIZE comments.
Black Hog Down 🤔
Now there’s a little gal you don’t want to piss off.
LOL
My wife does not like the taste of wild hog. I tried to get her to taste some backstrap that a barbecued. She didn't like the taste of it. Lol. I have a video of it. Lol
But I like the taste of wild hog. But you have to season it correctly.
I think it's pretty darn good!
Cancel the doggie ear snack ! I’ll wait for the Deer Jerky… right ? Nick !
LOL
Cool Beans
Golf is kinda similar to hunting if you think about it... It's quiet and peaceful, challenging, no two golf courses are the same, and YOU are the only one that can make the shot. My father and I have a tradition every Christmas Day the golf courses are closed so we can walk right on and play 18 for free. We usually have the whole course to ourselves with the exception of a few die hards.. We also happen to go hunting together.😆✌⛳
It's a blast!
💪👏👏👏
👍🇨🇦
Mix 1 lb of wild pork with 1 lb of venison makes the best burgers ever
Awesome job Allie!! I can’t stop laughing with Nicks face when he tried the jerky!!! 😂❤
Nice shooting!!! Yum yum
You are so awesome when are you coming to Virginia to hunt with me…
Do you have any idea how that dog became so spoiled ? lol
LOL
Man, all that work for little meat just makes me lazier How long does one wild pig meat last you?
Great video can't wait until you are going fishing and golfing soon
Is wild Boar hog edible? My Florida friends wont shoot one, period. We Italian Yankees, if thats actually a thing, drop all wild hogs in a pressure cooker with seasoning for about an hour give or take depending on amount and meat thickness. I bet everything i own, with anyone, to deft the meat doesn’t come completely “ boar hog rank” FREE. Falls off the bone, and on e you get good @ using the pressure cooker, can finish the last couple minutes in a smoker, BBQ grill or whatever. Skim the fat out of the pot and use as cooking grease too. Been eating Florida boar since 1983 down here this way.
Yes, it's pretty good actually!
I’m confused is rinsing the jerky after the marinade just washing the flavor you want off??
No, it should be infused by then.
WILD BOAR MEAT is delicious.👍👍👆👆🔔🔔🔔
For sure. Thanks for watching!
I don't like heater in my home either. My wife does. I rather have the heater off in the winter. I want to ask you a question? Have you ever seen any signs of Bigfoot when you're hunting? Lol
No big foot lol
I would research more on temperatures. Possibly sous vide at low temperature for longer and then finish in the smoker. Congrats 👍
Great suggestion!
Coffee not coughing - sub-titles got it wrong
Great job Allie Nick face said it all try setting a cup of water in with your smoker
Will do.
Wow he went back for seconds.
Saludos👍
Thanks!
Allie@ sitzt du schon im Knast ???😅😅😅
Allie..it is unfair how cool you are!
Nick you're awesome too! Lol
Nice job you two!
👍 👍 Thanks for watching!
If you let it get a little more stiff in the freezer it is a lot easier to Jerky out... Great video's Allie!
Thanks Eric!
What are the pants and jacket you’re wearing in this video? I love em!
The pants are Fjallraven and the jacket is Sitka. Thanks for watching Katie!
Spot and stalking hogs into the wind, through palmetto’s with a bow is a blast 🤙🏼
Sounds like it!
What does your high protein breakfast consist of? It's always breakfast tacos and black coffee for me. I'm looking for something healthier on the run.
Hey Allie, You didn't give us your recipe for marinating the jerky.
Glad you got a hog.
It's going to be in the cook book!
@@OutdoorsAllie Good, I need a good recipe.
!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
Why rinse off the marinade. I’ve never done jerky from hog only beef and whitetail. Was always nervous about the temp, but I dehydrate mine. I always take it from the marinade bag straight to the dehydrator. Thank you for great content.
Do you do any trappin'
The one question everyone wants to know are there mountain lions in PA
I don't.
The most badass outdoor couple on RUclipss.
Glad you enjoy it!
Thanks for watching!!
Try this for jerky marinade: 1 medium bottle of Hot Texas Pete, 1 medium bottle of of soy sauce, 1 medium bottle of worchestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of dry mustard, 1 tablespoon of ground sage, 1 tablespoon of celery flakes and 2 tablespoons of Montreal Steak seasoning. Don't thank me, thank my buddy Kirk (God rest his soul!). He shared this with me over 30 years ago. I have found that adults and kids LOVE this!
I'll give it a shot!
@@OutdoorsAllie It tastes like a Slim Jim!
Great video. What kind of rifle is that?
Thanks for watching Preston! It's a CVA Cascade
I didnt get my gator tag here in ga.
Unfortunately we didn't either.
Great hunt and video Allie, congrats! Enjoy your videos, what caliber rifle did you use for this hunt? Happy New Year, from East. Central Minnesota!
Thank you! 308
Good evening from Syracuse NY everyone and a Happy New Year everyone
I've just started watching your videos. I love how entertaining they are and informative. Great job !
Glad you like them! Thanks Bobby!
It’s a shame that you guys don’t have access to trichinella tests like we have here in Sweden. We always send a sample of meat to a lab for testing after each hunt and wait around 24hrs for the results. 99.8% of our wild boar are trichinella free and we can cook ours at lower temperatures.
Interesting. A lot of spring bear testing is available but not for hogs.
If you get some that are too dry, save them, boil them with top ramen.
It's a great flavor change when backpacking
I like that idea!
Happy new year 🎇🎆
Happy new year!
Well another year down thank you for all the great videos & keep it up 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 you wasn't kidding that was a quick hunt. I hope you both have continuous success on your hunts & fishing next year

👍
Great video! here in germany we are obliged to have hogs tested for trichenes, if the meat is used for food. Is that not an issue in the US?
Interesting. No testing required here.
Great hunt Allie and the jerky look so good!! I enjoyed your video.Happy New Year to you Two.
Thanks Jimmy. Happy new year!
Great video really enjoy watching all of the videos you post thanks for putting them together for our viewing keep ‘em coming.
Thanks, will do!
Great video Allie, you are very good at processing wild game! I had a yellow lab named Rosie because she had some pink on her nose. Abby is very white for a yellow, mine was more of a dark yellow. Labs have great dispositions.
They're the best!
Now you have to come to Louisiana and get rid of some of these hogs here lol great video
I"d love to!
Great video! Hog hunting is definitely on my bucket list, but this year my goal is to up my processing game. I thought you did a video on your vacuum chamber? If you did, do you have a link to that video? I'm in the market for one and the bags you use.
She did show her using the vacuum chamber on her video of her talking about the hind quarter of a whitetail deer and the different parts to it.
That’s website to the vacuum chamber you were looking for.
🙋 hello there,
I wish you a happy new years and i hope you had an amazing christmas as well.
enjoy your weekend.
Happy new year!
@@OutdoorsAllie
Thank you very much
We never gut them first. We clean them like you're cleaning them right now. We skin them first and they're not easy to skin. Usually it's two of us getting one hog because we work together.
Definitely not easy!
I meant to say we usually work together. My friend Alex and I to clean one hog
Teamwork. It's because their skin is so tough.
@@OutdoorsAllie I know. It's not easy to dress out a wild hog. That's why my friend Alex and I dress out the wild hog together. Teamwork.
Nick's golf swing looks solid actually lol!
He hits it far... if it goes straight LOL
Great video!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Welcome to Florida I was born and raised here it's nice to hear someone from another state say nice things about our state. We do have a large variety of wildlife to hunt you should try going bow fishing. I absolutely love bow fishing and there are tons of lakes throughout the state where you can go.
You grew up in a wonderful state!
welcome to Florida , glad to see you moved (part time) here , have watched your channel for a while , you covered for the most part some rules and regs, for florida hog hunting best thing to remember is have permission to be where you are hunting and check brochures of any WMA'S you hunt they are not all the same MY FWC/BROCHURES only a few let you hunt year round and you need a management area stamp thanks FB
For sure. Thanks for watching!!
good job !! I'm a Texas retiree fishing and pig hunting at 73 sharing the meat with families struggling for groceries. i usually either grind up the pig into ground pork and folks use it like hamburger most find that a blessing in itself because it can be used in a mirid of different cooking combinations, catfish I fillet freeze and give it to the same folks with needs. meand my friend do wild boar jerky thats so good and folks thrive on it its so addicative like lays potato chips no one cand eat just one we jokingly call it REDNECK CRACK !!!
Thanks for watching Drew!
