good presentation! i took some management classes (not for eve) but they helped greatly. you can learn a lot how people act and selfidentify what typr of person you are and how to make that a benifit.
Thank you for sharing - I was referred to your conference by a friend in Eve. I couldn't agree more about your discussion on relationships. I'd like to discuss things further with you at some point if you'd like. In game, I am Edmond Winter. I look forward to speaking with you. :) Thanks, -Ed
I really miss the details. Like, it's important how I define the relationship between CEO and member. What is a good example, what is a bad example? What specific data have you taken from other corps/players over the years? How? What were you conclusions? What is a decision you have stepped back from after seeing that the data doesn't show it's a good idea?
I've been missing Eve. I last played in 2012. Now I'm wanting to start a new character and build a decent Corp, if I can. It's awesome that there are videos like this to help us lowly plebs LOL. I have to wait until I get a new computer :( This one won't handle Eve. But that doesn't mean I can't start my planning. I've a lot to think about and plan for. How I wish to build my characters, I intend to run 2 accounts. How I wish for my Corp to be, what it should do. Plus there's a lot to learn about expansions and other changes since I last played. Some things may not be the same as they were in 2012 and I will have to learn the new way to do things.
ok, so you're a rich guy who has 2 controlling jobs..boss in EVE and boss of your department in hospital. Happy for you haha..just joking, i admire doctors..i couldnt do that..and probably not the smarts to be CEO..how the hell does a doctor become CEO of a game company? wow..happens so much lately
+john banks It's like he says early in the presentation, being a good doctor has a lot of non-medical related leadership skills attached to it, and being a good CEO has a lot of the same non-EVE related leadership skills attached to it, so a lot carries over between the two. Those leadership skills are actually more closely related to the business world and the military than medicine or gaming. But what he's getting at where having direct subordinates as autonomous, flexible directors rather than rigidly defined roles seems more like something you'd need on-call in a hospital than what you'd find in a board room or war room.
Hey, that was my first corp where I cut my teeth way back when. Cool to see Argus on the stage!
This seems like very good stuff that every CEO of a new corp should take to heart. I will definitely be sharing this in-game.

A great presentation, concise and informative. I enjoyed it immensely!
