The audacity we have as golfers to think “I should hit this close”. You might be 200+ yards away, holding only a metal stick, trying to hit a tiny white sphere, and we can and do make ourselves upset that we can’t make the ball stop close enough to some impossibly small target. When I’m having a bad day on the course, I think about how ridiculous the whole proposition is from the outset.
I love his demeanor on the course, I've been watching for awhile now and I've noticed that yes, golf has its emotional ups and downs, but Erik just handles it so well with his mental strength. Rounds like these are an example of that. Amazing course, and good round Erik!
Appreciate you covering Ross Bridge. The RTJ Trail doesn't get the attention it deserves in the golf space. Some of the best value golf destinations in the country. Hopefully these videos will inspire more golfers to visit the Trail.
Totally agree with staying in the groove and positive out on the course. I went through this weird phase where I was just getting mad and upset out there. Took a small break and changed my mentality out there. I’m out on the course having fun with my dad or friends. I’m not at work. There’s zero reason to be getting mad out here. Not only has it helped my mindset by even my score
Great video, I love the course vlogs, especially the camera work. I can tell there is a lot that goes into these videos and it makes them very entertaining !
Love the shot tracing and commentary. Makes for a very fun watch. I would appreciate it if you included a little more of the conversation/banter on the course. Just a thought.
Way to stick with it! That course looks amazing and I think you played it well. I wish I could figure out how to trace my shots like you guys do in the videos with the bounces and roll outs.
I meet my best friend every year at the RTJ Trail with many times from the tips. Great golf, friendly people and very affordable packages. Cannot say enough about the trail. It’s amazing. The Shoals have 2 courses over 8k from tips.
Erik needs a break. 11:15-20 he just looks exhausted. Don't worry about breaking 90. That's not why a lot of us are here. Beautifully produced course vlogs is why I'm here. Don't care what you score
That course looks amazing and long of course!! You had some long putts out there!! I was definitely routing for you to break 90. But what is good you still enjoyed it!!
Saw you wearing a goat hill shirt in your adventures in golf hole in one video, would love to see you play there (Oceanside, CA) or torrey pines of course. Love the videos, keep up the good work!
Maybe my favorite series on youtube. Ever plan on uploading in 4k? The quality of the editing and camera work is so impressive just seems a shame to watch it in 1080p. Cheers!
I also struggle sometimes with blocks, and hooks. I gotta tell myself to swing "steeper" to correct my plane. It also helps to tell yourself to exit low-left with the handle.
Got two choices for you in NC! Either the Championship Course at Bryan Park or Grandover. I cant tell you how exciting it would be to play with you (especially as just a course vlog, they're too tough for me personally to break 90 from the tips). Bryan Park has tradition of hosting a PGA Amateur tournament and 'renovated ' by Rees Jones. Located on Lake Towsend...its truly gorgeous
Such a nice course...have played there 7 times and from the tips 3 times...shot 77,71,74 Doesn’t play 8200 yards either, a lot of yardage gets cut out with adjusted elevation numbers but it is still CRAZY LONG...I think the best version of it is the next tees up...it’s very gettable from there but also still very punishing
Played Ross Bridge and it’s a tough, long, blind shot course with plenty of run offs to loose balls. If you join the Trail Club you can get discounts on playing. Thanks for the video.
Playing from the tips is such a different game. Next time you're on the Trail, do a Break 90 video at the Judge Course in Montgomery. Probably the hardest course I've ever played.
It's either a great day of golf with some beers or a great day of beers with some golf. Don't drink? It's a great day of golf with some friends or a great day with friends and some golf. Golfing alone? It's a great day no matter what. That's why golf is always winning.
Recently learned a little "trick" to deciding your tee yardage to play. - Take your 5 iron yardage (for me 205) and * it by 36. So 205*36=7380. Which means I should play 7380 at max. Haha, fun "trick" to decide which tees
Honestly it makes no difference to me as to where u do a break 90. It just good stuff. We’ve all been there chasing a number. It’s fun watching u chase yours Keep them coming. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
A lot of great golfers have taught me how to improve my game, EAL has taught me how to enjoy the experience of golfing. Score couldn’t be less relevant to 99% of golfers and yet we let it shape our day on the course.
EAL there is a course in Davidsonville Maryland that replicates the most iconic holes in all of golf. The name of it eludes my memory at the moment, but you should check it out. Amen corner, Island Green, it may be worth a look.
Eric, great content, entertainment, vlog and challenge. If you played a different strategy, ie, hit 3w or driving iron off tee, played a layup second shot and then chipped onto the green, you could have easily broken 90.
RGC SHOES!?! Currently figuring out how I'm going to convince my fiancé I need a fourth pair of golf shoes after convincing her I needed the RGC windbreaker I just bought a few weeks ago haha....
@@RandomGolfClubFilms I'd tune in for sure. I think it's a really under rated skill in golf, everyone is so focused on firing the ball as far as they can without really thinking of the consequences.
I love how Erik always gets philosophical when he's struggling on the course
EAL says out loud the existential crisis that goes on in my head whenever I play. Never quit on a round, no matter how awful. thanks Erik.
A necessary reminder!
As I shot 128 at a not terribly difficult course, I finished out losing 3 balls on the 14th. Never walk away from the green until you finish.
“Honestly, even if we shot a hundred, today would be a good day.”
Exactly. Great content. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Anytime on a golf course is a good day

Definitely one of the more fun rounds of golf I’ve ever played. Thanks again for a great day!
THE COMMENTARY! THE ACTION! THE SUSPENSE! THE LIGHTING! This video is awesome.
Yo, i love these course vlogs a ton, no need to break 90 man, you’re killing it out there!
The RGC break 90 videos are my favourite. It’s a great escape when you can’t travel and there is snow on the ground.
You gotta do a break 90 at Royal St George's for The Open next year!
Great video, so fun to see from the soggy, snowy, rainy Northeast! Some real nice shots to hang a hat on.
Can't get enough of this guy
Erik your channel is amazing. Love all the different courses, and the real play. Keep up all the great work.
Love the break 90 and course vlog videos, hope to see other of them in the future ! Great work lads !
RGC golf shoes 👀🔥🏌🏾👟, definitely looking forward to reviewing them!
Thanks for posting this great content! I'm glad you decided to finish the back nine and call it a break 90 video.

Great vlog, content, commentary, esthetics! Keep up the good stuff!
Keep these videos coming! Really enjoy watching you play and love how you were able to at least make it close there at the end
That forever hopeful approach and look into the cup. Sometimes I feel a bit ridiculous doing it, but some day it'll happen.
First time watching the feed and enjoyed it a lot. Footage was fantastic, hilarious commentary taboot...track looked real fun ....keep it up

Break 90 at Royal Porthcawl in Wales! I work on the course and if its a windy day you'll do well to shoot under 100
Course looks immense
Beast of a pretty course!
2:50 Me. Every. Single. Round. LOL

it looks like a beautiful course, really only 3 really bad holes and easily under 90. par 5's were not your friend this round
