Thanks to Rick Shiels, I've become a HUGE fan of Bryson DeChambeau, a real nice guy, class act, and a helluva' golfer! Thanks for bringing us this great, entertaining content gents!
I am also. When he was in college, a week or so after winning the NCAA, but before winning the US am, he was at our course qualifying for the US Opnen. I walked into the bar to get a coke in the middle of my practice day (Sunday before the actual qualifying rounds) , and there was one guy there. Tiger was on the TV. This was the memorial the day after he shot an 85. I asked the guy how Tiger was doing, and he said "only hit 5 fairways, but 3 under". I looked at him and it took a moment, but I recognized him. I said "hey, you won the NCAA last week". "Yeah, I did" (sheepish grin) . I couldn't remember his name and he helped me. So he and I talked for 20-30 minutes...mostly about physics and math. He was a physics major, I was a chemistry major. I mentioned I loved quantum mechanices, but did badly on my diff eq. course. He had the opposite experience, did well in diff eq, but didn't do well in quantum. I asked him how he could hit is long irons as far as he did, because the shaft lenght was the same as his seven iron, and he couldn't get the same clubhead speed, due the the short shaft. I felt a bit foolish when he told the the obvious answer, he just increased the mass, so the mass x velocity (momentum) was higher for his higher irons. The difficulty he had was in figuring out how to distribute the excess mass. It was a fun conversation. Felt like talking to a long term friend about mutual interests. It's interesting to me to hear some criticize him, because they think he is just putting on airs when he talks about the science. NO. This guy has an engineering/science mindset, and the mind to pull it off. Not being able to watch Bryson on Tour is depressing (so these videos are great). Watching the positive influence Bryson has on Rick and his game is awesome. Watching Bryson hit a wedge farther than I hit my 5 iron, is both depressing and awesome 😲
I'd probably need to go Driver/3 Wood, mid-iron and a wedge that doubles up as a putter. But Bryson's distance off the tee just cuts out the need for an iron. Would love to see this guy win a major in 2024.

Rick is a solid 10 handicapper :) you've got to play 18 too, I was out in 35 last month, I was on to break 80 for the first time, I needed two double bogeys on 17 & 18 and I tripled them both! Love your collaboration videos Bryson please keep them coming. Can't wait to see ya in Adelaide in April
Great vid, thanks Bryson! Love your content and manner, and the editing and production values...keep up the good work. Rick seems to have been focusing on and raising his game of late, which is good to see. Short game from difficult lies and locations is short of tour level, and one of those chunks looked kinda bad, but play this challenge 9 months ago and it's a blowout with four lost balls and five 3-putts from RS. Not sure why all the hate from the YT comment teaching pros.
Playing with the pros ,shows us mere mortals that they are great golfers but normal people like you and me , love it
What a roller coaster watching Rick in this round 😅. At first I thought it was gonna be bad! Good job Rick!
“That’s how you yell fore by the way” 😂😂 Surprised Rick didn’t say anything about that. Love this content!
1st pitching wedge and Byryson hits a tap to a few feet. CLASS .
Always been a Bryson fan and watched him grow as a golfer but now seeing him on a personal level and with my favourite Golf personality RS it's just awesome
Great video. Have to say Bryson seems like one of the lads you would love as friend! Too lad, and great collab with Rick 👏🏻
I liked it when Rick duffed his chip on 2. Even really good golfers make mistakes. Thanks for not editing that out
That was very entertaining. I didn’t really know who Bryson was just that I put those big grips on my clubs lol. What a cool guy.
I think you need to challenge some Crushers!! Maybe throw Borgie in there as well!! Have fun....it is fun watching you and Rick! You are a good friend! Happy New Year!
