This rookie season shows why Bird will always be a top 5 player. Bird was like a swiss army knife = anything that your team needs, Bird will figure it out and provide. Bird had success with every team he played on = look at what Bird did at Indiana State!!! There is more to the game than just statistics and while Bird's stats are great = his understanding of the game , the players on his team and the opponents team, and how to win the game are unparalleled IMO.

As a former Bulls fan during the Jordan era if I had to start a team I would actually pick Bird and Hakeem over Jordan first. I think they make more of an impact.

    Thank you. Great video!
    I would agree.
He came into the league ready and constantly strove to improve.
(I think they didn't acquire Maravich until near the middle of the season but I'm not positive, at the moment. )

If Larry hadn't built his moms' driveway, ruining his back he'd be the G.O.A.T. Now we don't, there are 8 or 9 guys in that conversation including Larry Legend. I love Magic, he made a great team better. Larry transformed a bad team into a dynasty. Larry is the king of the 40/50/90 club and is the most clutch player in NBA history.
