Regarding the Mustang owners not being able to get their kid out when the door locks and latches failed, how is it legal there not be a mechanical override for such a critical function in case the electronics fail? I’ll accept the tiny amount of drag that result from door handles that are accessible 100% of the time (don’t need motors to push them out) and at least one lock cylinder for a physical key. It allowed us to easily get in and open the hood when my daughter’s Kia drained its 12V accessory battery.
Agreed, I may be a grouchy old geezer who doesn't like most of the new fangled electronics foisted on modern vehicles, but there's something terrifying about not being able to get into or out of your car.

In the front bumper, there's a small trim piece that pops out, revealing a set of jumper cables - you can use those to energize the car and gain access - but it's something even some dealerships are unaware of :(
Agreed. There’s no reason to use an electronic actuator. We have been using mechanical handles for over a century and they work just fine. I can only guess they saved a couple cents per vehicle making the switch at the cost of something like what was mentioned in the video happening.
