Rabbi Aviad Neiger: How I escaped a Zionist sect.

  • Rabbi Aviad Neiger, born into a secular Israeli family, studied in one of the top Religious Zionist schools. As an inquisitive student, he decided to investigate the doctrines he was being taught in the name of Judaism and uncovered some uncomfortable questions. Upon discussing his question with his mentors he realized that Zionism is baseless political propaganda disguised as Judaism. Today he writes books and holds lectures exposing Religious Zionist forgeries and distortions of the Torah.

As someone who was raised Jewish, and was once passionate about the religion I was brought up in, but became steadily alienated from it over time due to my disagreements with the policies of the state of Israel, thank you for showing me that the door is still open for me to return to Judaism. The way that so many hardcore Zionists are unable or unwilling to discuss this issue in either religious or political terms has steadily pushed me more and more away from the religion, but I see now that that does not represent all of us. Thank you.

There are not many positives we see out of the current events in Gaza, but if I am to point out one positive is that I, and the world, now understand not all Jews are Zionist. And as a Muslim I have to say I am proud of my Jewish brothers and sisters who are able to see the truth despite all the propaganda and brainwashing, and able to say and do something about it. I can't even imagine what a Jewish person goes through in their own community when they take an anti-zionist stance.

      Namaste Gee,
Vedas:Svetashvatara Upanishad chapter 4 verse 19 As well as in:
“There is no image of Him”
      (Svetashvatara Upanishad 4:19)
It is mentioned in Yajurved Chapter 32 Verse 3
“There is no image of Him”
      (Yajurved 32:3)
      It is also mentioned in

They sink deeper in darkness those who worship sambhuti i.e. created things (for e.g. table, chair, car, idol etc.)
      (Yajurved 40:9)
Idol worship, which is very common amongst the Hindus, is prohibited in Hinduism. It is mentioned in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7 verse 20:

Hindu Scriptures: " O friends, do not worship ANYBODY but Him, the Divine One. Praise Him ALONE."[Rigveda 8:1:1]
Hindu Scriptures: "I am the goal of life, the LORD and support of all, the inner witness, the abode of all. I am the only refuge, the ONE true friend; I am the beginning, the staying, and the end of creation; I am the womb and the eternal seed. I am heat; I give and withhold the rain. I am immortality and I am death; I am what is and what is not"[Bhagavad Gita 9:18-19]

Hindu Scriptures: "He is bodiless and pure." [Yajurveda 40:8]
Scriptures: "Of Him there are neither parents nor lord." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 6:9]
Hindu Scriptures: "They are enveloped in darkness, in other words, are steeped in ignorance and sunk in the greatest depths of misery who worship the uncreated.
eternal prakrti -- the material cause of the world -- in place of the All-pervading God, but those who worship visible things born of the prakrti, such as the earth, trees, bodies (human and the like).
In place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time" (Yajur Veda)

My sincere Thank You to the Honorable Rabbi Neiger, and
outstanding author and Host, Yaakov Shapiro. As a Gentile, I am so grateful to the both of You for giving many of us a wonderful overview of the ancient and profound Religion of Judaism and the difficulties modern times has presented to it. Zionism has indeed attempted to Hijack the beautiful, ancient, traditional, and wisdom filled, Jewish Faith. Your book, and your deep conversation on this vital subject is an education in and of itself! Again, my heartfelt Thank You to the both of you.

The WEF is the business arm of the UN, which was created with the help of the Rockefellers to become the One World Gov't. You can search the name with everything from people (Fauci, Bill Gates, Kissinger, Klaus Schwab) to industries (big-pharma, -ag, -tech) to agencies (Mossad, CIA) to eugenics (mengele, Planned Parenthood) to mind control (Tavistock, MK Ultra), etc. Of course, Rockefeller is only one of several wealthy families & Foundations; but it's a good place to start.

Its funny I was listening to this video and I heard this discussion of the kara'im and I thought, wow, what has this tiny group of Jews done to deserve such attention among the Jews? Is it worse in Judaism not to believe in the Oral Torah or not to believe in your god? This hatred of the kaaraites confuses me.
I was at one time an evangelical christian, and over time I read the bible and realized that evangelicals knew some of the words in gospel of John, but they obviously never read the entire new testament, otherwise they would not do as they do. And as people like Jimmy Swaggert and Jerry Fallwell rose to fame and fell I isolated myself from the movement, thinking that someday the movement will find itself. Then one day I found its founder. And I realized that evangelicals are doing exactly as their founder. Once this kicked in I looked for a foothold. As I looked for this magical foothold I reached the place of Yacov the pious, who was declared by both christians and Jews to be neither. And more or less, his Evyonic search for the messiah never came to fruition as I traveled down the tree of Judaism look for a firm place to put my foot, I found not 1 god, but two 'l (the mesopotamian sky god) and the god of peaks and Y--H an arabian god. And as I sorted and compared texts and commentaries on those text, but I found many gods: Shalim (dawn), Anath (Hunt, War), Shamesh (Utu, Sun), Suen (Nanna, Wisdom), Tammuz (Dumuzi, hus wife Ishtar-Astarte, dying and rising gods, Ishtar likely the template for the whore of Babylon), Asherah (🕎, divine wisdom, mother earth, athirath), Hadad (rider on the clouds, Ba'al), and Yahu (Ia, Ea, Enki, the trickster, god of Beth Lahmu). I did eventually find a trustworthy foothold in Apsu and NinAbsu (waters within the earth and Tahom) but not in any place in the biblical story, but in the ancient holy city of Eridu, the birthplace of Yahu. Also found, Kallubah, the village that built the first temple to 'l (Anu) which became the Eanna of Uruk. Both are prehistoric and emerge from the neolithic. But even Uruk and Eridu squabble over whether Anu ('l) or Enki had paternal precedence, but both unite that Absu and his wife, the crashy sea, are the origin of everything. Not to put down the mother earth goddess, I did find a "god" from Israel, she dates back to 250,000 years ago, a small fetish to mother earth, but even she is not the oldest version of 🕎, there is still an older version in Morocco.
The thing that I found is you can, in a process of deidentifying with extremist belief, find convinient stopping places, like Elaine Pagels has done by trying to find common ground between the gospel of John and the secret sayings of Tomas. But if you continue looking for solid footing, footing free of someone, some priest or scribe, did not like what the other priest or scribe had said or written and so changed it, that with enough intertextual comparisons you will find your foot falling through the beginning of civilization.
Its a warning to those who want to carve their religion into tiny pieces because of percieved flaws. If you even have fuzzy vision about truth and are looking for solid footing, you wont find it. While I completely agree with the problem of Zionism, I should point out that sectarianism within Judaism preceded the Jewish revolts. The orthodox often want everyone to believe that they are the "one true scotsman". But in the first century there were three notable sects (Saducees, Pharisees and Essenes) and together these represented less than 10% of the Jews. Jonathon Adler makes the point that Torah practice is not evident until the second century BCE, and if we look at the Elephantine Jews, they believed in a divine couple, Y--H and his Anath. So it looks like Judaism's unified look was something that John Hycanus force on alot of people in order to expand Judea.
Be careful where you shoot, you might be mistaking you backside with your enemy. If the future unfolds in familiar ways look back to the past, the Yahwist state never lasted very long, not under solomon, nor Maccabeans/Herodians. The voices of the past do not quieten easily, the voices of the gods Yosiah suppressed, they stayed in Judea, and Hycanus tried to suppress these again. But the old sky god and the mother (wisdom,🕎) reappear in christianity as Father and Holy Spirit and was built into the trinity, the weapon used by the Christians to oppress the Jews. I advocate none of these, I am just point out that if you seek to be pious by segregating yourself from other pious notions, you have effectively divided yourself for others to conquer.

How could you gloss over the fact that the original gospel was written in Hebrew by Matthew, or neglect that the sect at Qumran through the DSS where Messianic and anti romanized? You also seemed to pass over the fact that your using the wrong name that was attribute to God. And how could you spend such a significant time in evangelical Christianity and not even read the real dilema therein?

@@Joe-pc3hs Matthew was not originally written in Hebrew. Matthew quotes from the LXX nit from the hebrew bible. Papios says that there was a hebrew matthew, but the text we have was not attributed to matthew in the text. Scholars like Dennis McDonald think that on of the Matthews Papios is refering to is the Q source (See "From the first gospel (Q) to the gospel of Mark") The Hebrew text Papios is refering many people think is the lost Hebrew/Ebionite gospel. Much of the ideaology is found in the epistle of James, and the Q source. The author of the gospel of Natthew is a greek speaking writter with considerable education, likely from Anatolia, not a tax collector for fishermen from Capernaum.
The Qumran sect was messianic, however they believed not in a return of one, but two messiahs, one messuah was a sage and teacher (thats what scholars believe early jesus followers thought Jesus was) and the other messiah a kingly messiah. The romans to the Qumran are a minor distraction, the Qumran sect was anti-saducee. They believed that the temple priesthood and the temple itself was corrupted by the Maccabees, there first high priest vacated the position in Jerusalem and helped to build the cult. Why did this occur, the yehud priest was a kind of elite group in Jerusalem following Exile, but the Maccabees were warrior priests, but war and violence made them unclean. John Hycanus forcibly converted large numbers of levantine groups to Judaism, and this was detestable in the eyes of many of the priestly class, so they left. The Essenes believed that Jerusalem must be destroyed so that the righteous messianic duo restore the city back to god.
      Gods evolve, names evolve.
When the Egyptians first encountered Yahweh it was YHW, YH is the god of Bethlehem, Beth Lahmu, guadian of Enki.
Evolution of Yahweh. Enki (Sumer), Ea (Akkad), Ia (Ebla), YH (late bronze age confederation), YHW (late bronze age bedoins), YHWH (edomite-arava-tenmah), Yahweh (Samaria)-Yahweh (Judea), Yahweh (Yathrib), Yahweh (Elephantine Ilse).
**[divine sky] An(Sumer), Anu (Early dynastic), Ilu (Akkad), El (Canaan incl. Israel), Al (Arabia)
You should note that "'l the most high" in canaan uses the exact same cuneiform 𒀭𒀭 as the original name of An in sumer. The two versions of god are virtually identical except that in Canaan/Israel 'l is the bull of the heavens and in later Akkad and Sumer An owned the bull of the heavens.

Youre still predicating the name "Yahwey" as significant to the issue of Judaism, when its still a false conclusion. We have text's with vowel points that do away with that conclusion, so why you keep repeating that focal sentiment is beyond me. You're also over looking the over lap of Assyrian/ Akadian/Phoenician lingua franca that naturally exists in Hebrew, which explains the symmetry in what you see as a progression "of God", when its only a societal one. That isnt to say that baal worship didnt occur with Hebrews, but you use the opprotunity to draw other conclusions where they dont exist.
And did you NOT see the irony in establishing Matthews quotations from the LXX while still referencing the Greek Matthew? A little ironic to say the least. Not to mention the glossing over the significance of roman polytheism into Judaic thought and practice which resulted in modern Christianity. Is there a reason you dont discuss the Pauline epistles and the amicus brief of Luke via Acts? And try not to placate to logical fallacies on the next reply.

Akkadian is an East Semetic Language, Eblaite is a unique semetic language, Phonecian and Hebrew are NW semetic languages, Edomite/Arabian are West semetic. Sumerian is a Language isolate.
The original form in protosiniatic (NE African) would have been Ya Hu V/We Hu. Something on the order of Yahu with. . . .divine arms(Strength) , but since the original encounter with the egyptians did not have divine associated with arms we could interpret as arms of divine wisdom, similar to guardian of Enki, Lahmu, Bethlehem. The original paleo hebrew pronunciation is lost for the tetragrammaton, but its not likely static because, for the reason I stated above, the god was followed in different afro-asiatic languages so that you are essentially begging the question what was the pronunciation by the last high priest of the Sanhedrin in a belief system that is already transcontinental for 1000 years.
In terms of the vowel pointing. Hebrew, as a language is a reconstructed language, it was not spoken outside of the synogoue for 1600 years, the vowel pointe did not appear until 1000 CE
"The Masoretes (Hebrew: בַּעֲלֵי הַמָּסוֹרָה, romanized: Baʿălēy Hammāsōrā, lit. 'Masters of the Tradition') were groups of Jewish scribe-scholars who worked from around the end of the 5th through 10th centuries CE, based primarily in medieval Palestine (Jund Filastin) in the cities of Tiberias and Jerusalem, as well as in Iraq (Babylonia). Each group compiled a system of pronunciation and grammatical guides in the form of diacritical notes (niqqud) on the external form of the biblical text in an attempt to standardize the pronunciation, paragraph and verse divisions, and cantillation of the Hebrew Bible (the Tanakh) for the worldwide Jewish community."
There is no doubt what so ever among secular scolars that early iron age Israel was polytheistic.
The evidence of its polytheism, while white-washed by later scribes is clearly evident in the deuteronomistic text. Your idea is a non-starter. In fact, the first time we see anything even resembling a testimony to YHWH in the archealogy is in Edom.
"In the Early Iron Age, the modern consensus is that there was no distinction in language or material culture between Canaanites and Israelites. Scholars accordingly define Israelite culture as a subset of Canaanite culture. For example, the Israelite religion consisted of Canaanite gods such as El, the ruler of the pantheon, Asherah, his consort, and Baal. Yahweh is described as one of the sons of El in Deuteronomy 32:8-9, but this was removed by a later emendation to the text."
"From the perspective of the Kenite hypothesis, it has also been suggested that the Edomite deity Qōs might have been one and the same as Yahweh, rather than a separate deity, with its name a title of the latter. Aside from their common territorial origins, various common characteristics between the Yahwist cult and the Edomite cult of Qōs hint at a shared connection. Doeg the Edomite, for example, is depicted as having no problem in worshiping Yahweh and is shown to be at home in Jewish sanctuaries."
And so we need to be clear here, there is no Yahweh on the map anytime before the 9th century, only claims about Yahweh written centuries after. Here is the oldest depiction from Edom.
kuntilat Ujrad Inscription. End of 8th century BCE
      Pithos A
This says [PN1]... Say to Yehal and to Yoasah and to [PN2... I have b]lessed before Yahweh of Samaria and his Asherah.
      Pithos B
... before Yahweh of Teman [Yemen] and his Asherah [...] whatever he shall ask of anyone, may he grant it [...] and may Yahweh give him according to his heart.
      "Plaster Fragment
When El dawned in the mountains melted the peaks grew weak Bless Baal on the day of wa[r] The Name of El on the day of wa[r ]. "
Phrases within this also appear in the bible.
" [May] he lengthen their days, and may they be satisfied [...] may they be given by [Ya]hweh-of-Teman by [his] Ašerah [and] Yahweh-of-the-Te[man] favored..."
In other words, the YHWH of the south is favored. We can see here, in the time of Assyrias conquest of Israel that El, Yahweh, Ba'al (Hadat), Asherah are still practiced over a wide area, signs of all of these gods are found in literature earlier period (In Judges, We also see clear signs of Ba'al gad, Anath, Molak, Shalim worshipp among the "in" group of Israelites, this extends into Samuel and Kings) and we see archaeological signs of practice to polytheism after the Inscription.
      Judges.
"Yahweh, when you went out of Seir,
when you marched out of the field of Edom,
the earth trembled, the sky also dropped.
      Yes, the clouds dropped water.
The mountains quaked at Yahweh's presence,
even Sinai at the presence of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
      ...
From the sky the stars fought.
From their courses, they fought against Sisera. "
Who killed Sisera, the Kenite Jael. In the Song of Deborah, the earliest versions don't use Yahweh they use Yahu. So at least in ~1075 BCE, Yahweh and Yahu (Ia) were two separate gods. Yahweh might not have even existed at that time.
      Kibbit Beit Lieh 6th century
"Yahweh (is) the God of the whole earth; the mountains of Judah belong to him, to the God of Jerusalem". Phraseology dated to 7th to 6th century BCE Earth does not equal world.
The conclusion is there were many Yahweh, the bible even says as much, and that Yahweh, hus names and his attributes evolved over time. No secular scholar will dispute this. Arabian god, a volcano god, volcano's are from Yathrib south to Ethiopia. A god of shepherds, of midianites, Edom is now known as the settled end of the midianite peoples were they came to trade their flocks which easily explains why the Author of the KA inscription infers that the Authority of Yahweh comes from the south, though tenmah translates to Yemen, it probably just means that that half of the pastoral grazing routes.
