    2. Get used to Pressure- Accepting How difficult it is: that's how it feels ( at least 2-3 hours/ day)
    3. Speed Reading ( read a text aloud, better next turn, repeat 3 times as fast as possible) increase physical skill Mouth
    4. Using songs ( can totally find lyrics and sing along ) increase mental skill Brain
    5. Learn english in Chunks ( learn by sentence with the available structure- not single word)

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
01:00 🗣️ Fluency involves both the physical aspect of smooth pronunciation and the mental aspect of forming sentences quickly.
01:55 🗨️ To improve fluency, the most crucial step is regular practice by speaking with others or engaging in activities that require speaking English.
03:22 💪 Accept that speaking a foreign language can feel difficult and intimidating; don't let it stop you from practicing and communicating.
06:36 📖 Speed reading practice helps improve the physical aspect of fluency by training your mouth to produce sounds and words quickly.
07:59 🎵 Singing along to English songs at different speeds can enhance your physical fluency by syncing with the song's pace.
08:54 🧠 Learn vocabulary in phrases and sentences instead of individual words to facilitate faster and more natural responses during conversations.

The most important part in speaking any language is confidence👌 once you master the skill of confidence you will gradually get fluent and begin to make use of your vocabulary. It is always a good idea to begin with simple words in sentences and slowly introduce new learnt words or rather bombastic words. Again be practical try to have conversations with different nationals Africans, Asians, British etc but never try to change how you speak your English based on whom you are speaking with. Yes you can simplify conversations in trying to be understood but never compromise your manner of speaking or confidence. Watch English movies and get someone that inspires you for instance I'm inspired by Raymond Reddington of the Blacklist NBC show. Remember practice builds towards perfection 👌 I'm in South Africa and willing to have a trial or learning conversations in English via Zoom or any digital platform, as I'm interesting in learning to diversify my speaking tools. Thank you all.

    Key points to improve fluency:
    1.Practice speaking
    2.Reading
    3.Listening song
4.Learning vocabulary through sentences and phrases

  • @lemonnn3626

    1. What is fluency?
Speaking smoothly without hesitating or stopping
    Specifically,
Fluency can be separated into two types: physical and mental.
Physical fluency means basically how your mouth and tongue cooperate to produce words precisely,
While mental fluency is how your brain puts suitable words into sentences.
    2. Get out of your comfort zone
Just do it!!! Talk with others regularly, likely 2-3 hours a week.
    3. Get used to Pressure
Accept that you might feel nervous while communicating in English, just keep on repeating point 2.
    4. Speed Reading
    a) find a text easy for you to read
    b) read it out and time yourself
    5. Sing songs
Read lyrics and sing it out, you can choose harder songs as you move on
    6. Learn language in chunks
    Stop translating word by word!!
Remember the language in big pieces

I think I've improved my speaking mostly by rambling out loud or talking to myself, and music. I'm also attending classes that force me to speak in English and I believe that has helped me, I have participated in a few language exchanges as well despite my shyness, and I loved them.
I also have speaking exams in my classes, but I think they could be done a bit better. Sometimes they feel scripted or unrealistic; either because of the topic or the time limit. I feel like I've made good progress since two years ago though.
Finally, and in case someone needs this. If you have an accent when you speak; or if you hear someone that has one, know that there's nothing wrong with it. If anything, that shows the effort you or the other person are making, and it shouldn't be something to make fun of.

    00:36 Part1.「流暢さ」とはなにか? What is Fluency?
01:30 Part2. とにかく話せ! Get Out Of There and Speak!
03:26 Part3 プレッシャーに慣れろ 。 Get Used to Pressure.
    06:30 Part4 スピードリーディングをする。 Speed Reading.
    07:44 Part5 歌を使って練習する。 Using Songs.
    08:56 Part6 塊(フレーズ)で英語を学ぶ。 Learn Language in chunks.
    Part.1
    「流暢」とは、止まらずに、ためらわずに話せること。
    「流暢さ」は2つの要素で成り立っている。
    「肉体的流暢さ」と「内的流暢さ」
    「肉体的流暢さ」とは、口や喉がスムーズに動かすこと。
    「内的流暢さ」とは、適切な英語が頭に浮かべられること。
    Part.2
    リーディングが読むことによって鍛えられ、
    リスニングが聞くことによって鍛えられるように、
    スピーキングは話すことで鍛えられる。
    パーティーやオンライン英会話など、様々な機会があるので、とにかく話すこと。
    Part.3
    英語を話すプレッシャーは、受け入れるしかない。
    そのために、週に2,3時間は話すのがおすすめ。
    Part.4
    自分にとって難しすぎない英語の読み物を準備する。
    そして、タイマーをセットして音読する。
    次に音読するときは、前回よりも多く読めるように努力する。
    そうすれば、流暢に話すための知恵得たり、コツを掴むことが自然とできる。
    Part.5
    歌うことも、Part.4の鍛錬と似た効果がある。
    歌詞を見ながら歌い、歌えたら徐々に難しくしていく。
    Part.6
    1語ずつ記憶して、話すときにそれらを文に構成するのは難しい。
    母国語でも自然とそうしているように、フレーズを覚えて、
    そこに入る単語を変えることで意味を変えよう。
    (10:55から始まる例がわかりやすい。)

Hi! I'm John from the Philippines.
When I was in Junior High School, I'm not able to speak English well and always find myself hesitating every time I spoke with my classmates or try to have conversations with them using the English language. But when I became a Senior High school student, there was someone who inspired me to practice myself and get used to it. She told me that, I should try talking to myself in the mirror regularly. I tried it! And boom, the effect was really amazing. I learned how to be fluent in it and I always find myself confident in using that language. But then, thanks for this video it still helped me a lot.
By the way, here in the Philippines if you commit grammar lapses, people will laugh at you and that part is really difficult for the people who want to learn how to speak English fluently.

Wow. I think this lesson is what I need. I've been watching a lot of techniques on RUclips on how to get into fluency. I've always wanted to speak English in my expressive and fluent self. However, everything seems to be not working for me. But this video justifies the truth that learning vocabulary would be easier if you learn vocabulary with phrases and sentences rather than learning a particular word and translate it in your mother tongue. I usually got stuck when I can't find a word that I wanted to say because I have to translate it in my own language. Now it's time for me to try your advice. Thanks to you, sir.

Yes, this the same thing happens with most of country, I am from India and here in public school we have only one subject in English which is English subject and apart from this our all books are in our native language so teachers teache English but they don't teach how to speak English and during the school/college time we don't even realize how much importance of English in our professional life and finally we come in the job and business then we have to phase communication problem with international client's and customers. As we all know English language is the one which become a common language at international level...Touch wood I can write, read, listen English but my trouble is I can't speak that much as a English speaker speaks.. if anybody wants to improve their spoken English then please ad me on your WhatsApp. We will talk every day whenever we get free times by calls and text massages as well.. this way we can improve speaking English ASAP by sharing our cultures, background, about food, games, politics, movies, etc. May be we can be a good friend... That was one of the most unforgettable video lessons I have ever seen ! “Learn language in chunks” ! Now I see why my process takes time than expected. Unfortunately it is very tiring to unlearn the old structure and replace it with new one after a while but ofcourse it is not possible (: Thanks for this ! It should be spreaded around the world and English teachers in non-English countries must teach the lessons aligned with this structure. Otherwise, non-natives will have to keep translating in their heads forever..

True, try watching movies. Before, I really don't believe that watching English movies can make you better at English. But, when I started watching Stranger Things all the way to Game of Thrones, I suddenly realized it worked. And also try making some essay's every day with different topics. It can improve your English, grammar, pronunciation, and accent. I'm @ Filipino too. I can understand what you're talking about. Tiwala lang, bro. Ganyan din ako dati.

I appreciate your work! I teach adults English here in New York, USA. I am using your teaching methods. I teach the vocabulary for a topic and then have the students answer a question or two about the topic. This takes a long time. My class is 3 hours long. The first hour is vocabulary. Then they get the two questions to answer themselves. Then everyone is put into pairs. The partners sit across from each other. The 6 tables are arranged in a U shape which allows some to sit inside outside the U. The students on the inside will rotate one person to the right to get a new partner. Everyone gets to ask and answer the same questions with at least 3 people. The talking time is limited to 2 minutes. Once both partners have asked and answered the question the remaining time is theirs to talk 'in English' about anything they want. One way to conduct a 'talking circle' it to direct the students to list all the words they know about a topic. For example, the weather. I will have the students name and describe all the weather vocabulary they know as quickly as possible for 1 minute. They did this with their notes one day and without their notes another day. The objective is to give the students an opportunity to use words and phrases they are learning. My students like this exercise. The most difficult thing to teach was the 'rotation'. Believe it or not, my students like to pick a spot to put their things and they are reluctant to move around the room! I've been doing this for 3 months now. We all get a good laugh from it. Thank you Oxford English Online for a wonderful service. I wish you all much success in your future.

For me personally, listening and reading are so vital for speaking and speaking practice. Because of these, a learner can be really exposed to the language. In addition, a person learning the language can be familiar with phrases, grammar, expressions and vocabularies through listening and reading that can be very useful for practice speaking.
