I’m concerned about generated heat. Should I had ordered a blanket for the turbo? Consensus say that the blanket the blanket help keep the interior chamber hotter for the air flow (this was over my head) anyway I’m more concerned about temperatures underneath the hood causing damage. Any thoughts?
PS i also ordered the Type R heat shield since the O2 sensor is being relocated to atop of the down-pipe.

To answer the question as to why I chose the KURO. 1 stock Type R w/modified insides. So bolting and fitment issues (i hope) will be minimal. 2. There’s something to be said about that power between 2-4k. I didn’t want to loose that. 3. Price. What you’re getting is a (mid range) upgrade that is significant and didn’t go broke getting there. Lastly, I’m not a strip racer, i just want an advantage while driving in Phoenix roads.
My setup
18’ / 2.0
PRL Flex Fuel kit
PRL Intercooler w/hose upgrade
Injen Tune Cold intake
Mushimoto oil collector
SPC rear camber kit
1 1/4” drop springs
Hondata flaher.
Nice! I hope you like the KURO! When do you plan on installing it?
Fk8 turbo with e30. Already out of fuel and drob had to turn my boost down. Haven't done fuel line mod. With out more fuel fk8 or similar turbo will be your best bet.
👍
Be the first one with a fl5. As long as it fits. Just get more lag if you go bigger. Maybe 27 won be ok.? Curious what the fl5 turbo looks like
I’m very interested in the FL5 as well. 🤔
Question bro I have a 2018 Honda accord sport 1.5L I want to know if it’s possible to swap my engine to a 2.0t and and transmission swap to a 10 speed ?
Although I’ve not seen it done, I’m sure it’s possible 🤔. I think a better option would be to sell the 1.5 and buy a 2.0. Of course if you’re looking to do this on a car with a blown engine and you already have a donor 2.0 then it would make for an interesting challenge 😉
Any thoughts on the titanium inlet pipe? Other than it looks decent.. I feel like that crappy tiny plastic crap it replaces "should" help.. 🤷♂️ would sure make for a good video 😆.. and expensive dyno pull.. for probably minimal gains
I have thought about it, but I do not feel as though it will add any additional performance gains. However, a replacement is needed if I'm to upgrade the turbo.
@The Lemon Factor! LLC ok! I haven't looked into what's required on a turbo swap.. well that sort of validates the addition of the inlet pipe being it can be used for the upgraded turbo.. I'm only assuming it bolts to the oem turbo also. I wanted to also point out that although you have "cooler" cars.. I think it's epic that you spend so much time on the accord! It's just a realistic every day car that alot of people can afford! And I think that it will only become exponentially more popular as time goes.. I feel like in 7-8 years from now that you're current accord videos will explode with views as younger crowds can afford these. Thanks for what you do
Thank you for your kind words and support, it’s very much appreciated 😁 I love my Honda Accord! I’ve had plenty of other cars that were more expensive, and have had the pleasure to drive many others, and I can say that a more expensive car isn’t necessarily better. That’s why I enjoy cars so much - they all have something to bring to the table, but not everything. It’s all what you’re looking for.
@The Lemon Factor! LLC 💯 well said. I've been driving my father n laws viper recently.. although it's cool.. it hasn't made it on my channel 😆 😂
I just got a mhi Stage 2.going to Derek for a tune in pa can't wait 🙌.what's you ig I'll send your dyno videos
Good luck with the tuning. I’d love to hear how it turns out 👍
What about the Garrett turbo upgrade. I between that or HMI 2.
There’s others, but the Garrett didn’t make the Top 10. Most all of the turbos on this list is a drop-in replacement.
@@TheLemonFactor Not to be rude but why not. Isn't Garrett a good turbo company and joey accord has it and is pushing 487whp.
Garrett does make good turbos 👍
For the Mitsubishi stage 2 upgrade do we do it on a stock turbo or still get the fk8?
I’m not sure what you’re asking? The MHI Stage 2 is its own turbo, it’s not a hybrid.
any of these can fit in a 1.5t 2018? lol seriously asking
Anyone know what RWD Transmission I can attach to my 10th Gen Accord engine?
So can u upgraded turbo in a automatic 2018 Honda accord 1.5
You could but you will enjoy three runs before the cvt blows up or head gasket fails
Would love to see the mhi stage 2 on your car
The MHI Stage 2 turbo certainly is a solid, and well documented upgrade 🤔
@@TheLemonFactor I’m pretty sure you’ll make the right decision
Try prl 700
👍
Go BIGG!
But which one 🤔
The low RPM torque is addictive, and not having to wait for spool-up is worth the loss of peak HP.
It certainly is. Too bad there’s not a hybrid Accord turbo 🤔
I say midsize and see where it goes from there
I’m with you 👍
PRL BIG TURBO
Max peak HP?!? 😉
@@TheLemonFactor yes sir I too love the low rpm power but wanna see how a big boy turbo would do. Tho food for thought upgraded injectors for your build ?
If I go BIG that BW EFR7163 is an impressive turbo 🤔
@@TheLemonFactor let me ask you a question you really like off the shelf tunable options have you ever gone to an actual garage that specializes in Honda tuning to see if you can get more out of the car. I have a very reputable garage that specializes in Honda since the 90s and they've gotten some very impressive games off many of the engine platforms that Honda has come out with. If you'd like I could give the link on here I'm pretty sure they do tunes as well
We will be custom tuning the car. Our approach has always been to take the modifications in stages to see what works and what doesn’t. With that said, if you have a name of a specialty shop here in Colorado I’d gladly take it 😁
PRL700 plzzzzzzzzz
I’m sure it would produce some impressive numbers, but probably only up top (above 4500 RPM) 🤔🤷♂️
You can break 500hp with the MHI.
I’m sure it can be done with the right fueling 😁👍
@@TheLemonFactor yes sir!
Big power daily driver track car
😁👍
Too large of a turbo will make it less of a daily driver
can you do upgrades like bolt on turbo for 8th gen accord 3.5L
