    I have celiac disease and I just want to share some information that you might find helpful.
    1. Please be very careful seeing a functional medicine doctor, it can be a lot of stress for something that isnt rooted in science.
    2. There is no gluten allergy, you can be gluten intolerant, celiac, or have a wheat allergy but there is on true gluten allergy.
    3. You cannot eat gluten free for 30+ days and then do your testing as you may have a false negative, so its important to begin eating gluten again.
    4. Celiac disease requires an intestinal biopsy to be diagnosed, do not believe/trust any medical professional who tries to diagnose you with celiac disease from blood work.
    I hope you find this helpful, I dont want this to come across in a negative way, but I also dont want you to have to live a life without gluten if its not for sure something you need to avoid (being celiac is REALLY hard, being gluten free isnt too bad)

      I just had a celiac test and it was negative but I always feel yucky after I eat it. Could I just be intolerant?

    • @rachelkat
      @rachelkat 10 месяцев назад

      Oh also it was blood work 😅

    • @rachl8400
      @rachl8400 10 месяцев назад +1

      @rachkataryna1222 the blood test checks for intolerance, if it's positive and really high, then they send you for a biopsy to check if it's celiac. In your case if you werent eating gf you may have had a false negative, or it's just something that doesn't agree with you even if it's not a true intolerance

    • @rachl8400
      @rachl8400 5 месяцев назад +1

      @wrenfan not quite sure what you mean? You were properly diagnosed but wish you had just been told to go GF sooner?

    • @rachl8400
      @rachl8400 5 месяцев назад

      @wrenfan ya I totally hear where you are coming from, especially since you went through so much unnecessary suffering. However times are different now and I find people are being told they are celiac without actually being confirmed. And if they aren't, it's a lot of suffering (such as not being able to go to certain restaurants, extra stress etc) that could be avoided.

    I always feel better when I scale back on gluten. I still include it in my diet, but not much. Because...there are some items that have gluten that I love and there is no replacement...in my opinion. HA HA HA!! Honestly I have none or to very minimal of my symptoms now that I just limit gluten.

    Love this Kayla, I relate to the rash! Having Hashimotos Thyroiditis, I'm gluten, dairy & goitrogen intolerant. Gluten inflames my entire body & changes my mood, though soy is my true kryptonite. Having clarity on food sensitivity is a game changer, so best of luck with the testing ❤

    I have celiacs disease, fully diagnosed, I was super sick before, but would have never guessed it was the gluten. It has been life changing, I am fully diagnosed by a professional. Note I had to eat it prior to the testing to see actual proof but I think they would have seen the damage either way because it was so bad in the first place. Glad you didn't bash the gluten free diet for my sake 😅😂. One thing negative about fads, is people then don't take it seriously, one thing positive about fads it pushes companies to produce more gluten free options.

    Nice! Hope this helps to heal your gut ❤I did a mistake once doing a month gluten free and then testing for celiac antibodies ( apparently one needs to add gluten to produce them if there is an issue). Doing it right this time having bread and pizza and will test again. Good luck to all of us with "hot girl stomach issues"!😊

    You should check out the flavor enhancers and preservatives in that sauce you used on the salad it could of been 635 or 627, 631, yeast protein or hydrolysed vegetable protein or msg 621 and some have a E in front of them, they can cause a rash or hives.

    I love this video! I completely agree that some things may work for you, some things won’t. I’ve been told that I need to go to the gym and count my carbs but it just doesn’t work for me. I’m like you and I’ll just eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full. I like to pick out different exercises for different days because I easily get bored. One day I might jump rope and then resistance bands the next. I’ve also been on a health journey when it comes to naturally dealing with my migraines. I completely stopped drinking alcohol because the migraines that it causes just isn’t worth it. Some people don’t get that but to me it just makes sense. Thank you for showing the GF options! My NP said that I may need to do a food allergen test later on if my migraines done improve with vitamins. Apparently gluten can cause some people migraines so we’ll see.

Sometimes after watching a video you made about a certain diet or routine I find myself trying it out as well. I've tried the jump rope challenge and running challenge. I am thinking about trying to go gluten free. My mom always said that I might be allergic but I never saw any symptoms so I didn't take action. Overall, amazing content and a great perspective on things. Sending lots of love! 🥰🤩😍

    Hi Kayla- Thank you for making this video! I watched it right after you posted it and I decided I’m going to challenge myself to go gluten free for October and see how I feel. I started today -one day early and I feel good! I have noticed that I have more stomach and bowel distress when i have foods with gluten. I really love sourdough bread but I’m willing to give it up for 1 month. Did you find a good gluten free bread? I do like low carb wraps but I haven’t tried the gluten free tortillas. I read some mixed reviews On the Target app. It would be fun for you to do a 10,000 steps a day for a month challenge. I’m noticing more results when I get at least 10,000 steps a day.

    I have celiac and get violently sick if I have any gluten. I am very careful about reading labels and cross contamination but I'm still bloated and I've gained a lot of weight. It's very depressing and expensive. I've started intermittent fasting to see if that helps. My thought process was maybe I'm just having trouble digesting like gastroparesis so I stop eating after 6pm to give my body enough time to digest before I go to bed and it did seem to help at first but not so much now.

    I was gluten free for a while but discovered that it’s actually wheat I’m intolerant to. I also looked at other intolerances I had, and they all fall under the fodmap group, so I now eat low fodmap. It’s frustrating when eating out because whilst most supermarket gf products are by default wheat free, there is a bakery near me run by someone coeliac that uses deglutanised wheat flour, that delivers to a lot of the cafes and restaurants locally, and for me I may as well eat the normal stuff because it contains wheat and makes me just as ill.
    You might be feeling better because like me you’re eating less wheat by default, so it might be worth looking at that. The indicator is that I’m ok when I eat barley and other gluten containing foods, but I’m not ok with oats, garlic and lactose. All on the fodmap list.

    I've been gluten free for 8 years.
    I used to have chronic migraines. I decided to quit gluten for 30 days on a whim just to see how I felt. I didn't get one single migraine. Once I had gluten again I got an instant migraine. So 8 years no gluten and 8 years no migraines.
    For the taste test did you actually use legit gluten free Oreos or did you use a gluten free cookie that are like Oreos? I can't taste any kind of difference they taste just how I remember them tasting.

      Congrats on your 8 years gluten free!! I need to find some support groups for that because I'm a newbie on that journey and I realize there's a learning curve to it. After suffering with heartburn and bloating, etc. I decide to stop eating bread on a hunch that was the culprit and I was right! Needless to say, I ran into some great videos on RUclips and found this excellent book, by William Davis called, "Wheat Belly!" That really woke me up to the reality of this culprit of my digestive woes.

  • @r.d.durfey5862

    I'm gluten intolerant, so no gluten for me. I also control my migraines and another health problem with my diet...or maybe I should say the foods I eat. Why because I am allergic to many medications or they just plain do not work for me. I live in a small town, that likes to call itself a city 😊. And because of that and the fact that I don't drive...and the stores don't carry a lot of gluten free foods. It can be hard to find gluten free and it's costs so much. So that your lucky stars if you don't have to be gluten free. 😊💟💟

    You're right. It is a good idea to see if a person is sensitive to gluten before cutting it out.

      I had my gallbladder removed too. How long did it take for sensitivities and intolerances to appear after the surgery?

    • @ivylovesrunning
      @ivylovesrunning 5 месяцев назад

      @saka543 It took me a while to figure it out, but I would say it was a few months. I have a dairy allergy and a sensitivity to eggs before surgery. After surgery, my body is sensitive to gluten, soy, and fat. I can eat certain types with minor reactions and others I have to completely avoid unless I was to look 9 months pregnant, throw up, and/or have diarrhoea. I couldn't eat any kind of fat for the first year and a half. Now I can eat some fat from seeds, and light oil, but I can't eat peanut nuts at all. I recently found out I am sensitive to almonds and pistachios nuts. I haven't had my gallbladder for almost 10 years now.
