“It’s like the ratchet doesn’t like being used as a breaker bar. Weird” i chucked at this.
Run what ya brung!
"Those are called intrustive thoughts, we dont act on those" LMAO thats the quote of the week for me! 🦅
i kinda got a gigle out of wiggle your leg that will fix it
I read your comment as he said it in the video lol
That’s exactly what I said haha!
Very relatable.
It's like the luxury of having a junkyard right in your shop. Doesn't get much better than that.
Nice to see a young guy that doesn't melt.
MIKE, you're allowed to add more time to the completion of this project, ... "Rain delays"!
Carry on Capt'n!
“4 inches might not sound like a lot but it can really get in the way sometimes”.
Thank you. Glad someone else finally said it.
"4 inches may not sound like a lot.....but it can get in the way sometimes ". THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID
That’s the thought that popped into my head.
Glad I wasn’t the only one. 🤏
All of the comments I've seen have been positive, just want you to remember to maintain your mental health. You have a beautiful family,a tough job, and then you make time to get out your videos, has to be rough.Hang on,hold your family, and love what you do❤
Kleeman and Coffee. What a treat!
Cap’n your inventory is growing. Keep on adding and you’ll have to start bar coding to keep track of it!!
I had a few “Intrusive Thoughts”. I wonder if the Morels are up yet? What color of plastic worms are the small mouths hitting on? How cold is that creek water gonna be on my rubber boots? Did I snare any Trash Bandits in my Have A Heart trap? Is there enough gas in the Gator?
Unlike you, I’m retired and can act on them… tilling the garden can wait a day…. Or two!
I admire your mission focus bud… keep going. Now, please pardon me while I head for the creek bottom.
Those intrusive thoughts are way better. No mushrooms popping up here yet. We went out yesterday hiking and didn't spot any.
You still amaze me! It is so much fun to watch your process. Definitely achieving your goal. I can hardly wait until the next video! Thanks for sharing! 😊
I’m not sure if that year of ford is like the Chevy trucks but for your rear brake line make a new one and run it around the fuel tank vs between frame and fuel tank . . Definitely makes it a lot easier if it ever needs replaced.splurge on new rubber brake lines at that age the interior usually starts coming apart . Great progress 👍
I agree, if it won't start that's annoying, if it won't stop, that's a whole different level of evil you want no part of.
Hey Captain i have an old school tip for installing transmissions,
Take a 3 inch bolt that fits your transmission holes and completely grind the hex head off, then put into the motor at 10 o clock and 2 o clock position to rest the transmission on once you get it up in position, this will give your arms a break until you can get some other bolts started,
Just put them in finger tight so you can get them back out when you need,
Capt Kleeman Khronikles continue.....you sure showed out today on the "run wutcha brung" today. Both tractors were used with various attachments to just to the heavy lifting. You had chains, straps and come-a-longs in this video....the only thing I didn't see you use was duct tape! Great "can do" attitude, great content, great channel.
The wrecker has the self lubricating chassis option
Love your resourcefulness to do something out 3 nothings and sell the not needed bits to pay the overall bills. I would do the same. The only thing I am amazed at is how you have all the fasteners falling left and right….how do you keep them all straight??? Love your channel.
I normally think, "they make a tool for this, and they aren't expensive" then never think of it again until the next time I need the tool, and since I'm 50+ miles from the nearest town with a tool store, I just use two screwdrivers and a set of vice grips again, while thinking "they make a tool for this"...Making a list, and taping it to my forehead might work!
2 things. 1) get a shelter like you and your brother erected at your brothers land, it only has to cover where you are working . 2) The area outside the barn, garage, shop what ever you call it, rough the gravel up, spread cement powder down, roll it flat, rough it up again in a different direction, spread more cement powder down, roll it smooth again. Then you either wait till it rains, or use a sprinkler to wet the mixture to set the cement. I made a hard standing next to my carport for my trailer and wheelie bins, I also did this for my shed, and its held up even with my 36 inch roll cab and top box sitting on it. Just a suggestion.
I oppose dry pour because the concrete averages 40% less strength than properly mixed and in some cases can be just 20% of the strength of properly mixed.
From the MASH episode where they poured a concrete floor wrong. "We have 9 tons of what might as well be oatmeal."
While I agree wet is best the above comment is right I could not afford the £1000 to concrete our barn floor and instead spent £25 on cement and spread and raked it on the ground watered and put a vibro plate over it. I now have a three year old sweepable floor that is still holding up even with cars on it. Sometimes cheap is good enough.
It’s called making do with what you have got. The big job is for ‘ron, later on.
21:58 Captain Kleeman is the Easter Bunny!!!
I used to think I was good at doing things I had little to no training for. But I kneel in awe at your willingness to tackle things and see them through.
It does, however, freak me out when I see you working under things such as your rusty truck and not wearing eye protection.
You are getting closer to having a dump truck operating. Keep up the hard work. Maybe the engine is good, bad starter?
You are coming along great Mike and I believe you are going to have a reliable truck for the homestead. Everything you've done will make it easier later if you need to do a repair or upgrade. Having everything cleaned up and painted makes finding issues much easier. Plus no rust in your eyes 😂. Can't wait for the next update.
I’m very glad to see Captain Ratchet Strap (your secret super hero alternate identity) is back on the job.
Take one of the mirrors you’re not using and mount it there in the shop (maybe one down at world headquarters too) in case you get something in your eye or on your face. Just a random thought.
I love every video that has a moment when you say "terrifying". You know it's interesting at that point.
Captain, save the tow truck back for the hydraulics and lift on it. You can use it for the dump trucks lift or other.
Looks like a poncho would have been nice there when it started raining. Not pouring down but just enough to make one miserable and everythig slippery. Nice rear tires! That backhoe really has paid dividends on the time, effort and money you spent on it getting it running well.
Hay Mike! Don't look now, but it's coming together! Love'n the Build Series! Lee
There's always another part you want...
If you get the most important parts from that and sell the rest for a good price it's winning.
Mike, thanks for taking an older man back to his youth, backyard mechanical projects and many laughs.
....moving right along Cap'n...."noice" 😉
That lateral load wrachet strap worked wonderful.
So many funny statements as always. The funny action of wiggling your feet when mashing a hand. Who knew steel was so hard? You're still making it happen. Can't wait for the heater for the outdoor shop to work better.
I do have to give you an A+ not only do effort but mostly for working in the weather conditions ie, cold, damp & wet. NOT ME!
3 is charm nobody said it was going to be easy great video thanks Mike
Making it. Looking forward to seeing you put it all together!😊
“Lateral Load Ratchet Strap” is now definitely an official thing😂. Keep up the good work, enjoying this series very much.😀👋🇬🇧
Looking forward to seeing this running up and down the road.
That's a decent tow truck body. You probably already know it's a Vulcan. There a very nice tow unit. Should bring a decent dollar amount. Great work and great videos as usual.
I really want to put a mix tape together of all your "sayings", like this one at 9:28 "4 inches might not sound like a lot but it can really get in the way sometimes". Thanks for another great video, keep them coming.
Great video there Mike.just keep doing your thing, truck coming along nicely.be safe.😎😎😎👍👍👍
Haha, gravity and a bunch of spring tension, “That’s terrifying”
Set Trans on taboggan or plastic sled. Slide it on right out
Nice job 👍
Appreciate the work going into this. Pretty darn sweet
I like your use of the boogey board, I use the back of an old office chair as a garden kneeling pad. It’s all good recycling and repurposing. Yep, not a good idea to put your finger there! Keep up the good work.
That’s gonna be a healthy truck when done, it’s looking great Mike👍👍😎😎🍮❤️
Hi Mike. Seemed kind of surprising how easy that read end came out. Would have thought it would put up more of a fight after all the years it's been attached. Those wheels should look pretty jazzy under the truck!
Nice they rust proofed the frame and axle for you 😊 ⚓️🚢🔧
"And a fresh owi" on the face when something did not quite go as hoped.... that musta hurt. You've done very well and clean up is killing your time to assemble it... just keep the chin "Out of the way" Mike and keep hammering... excellent job so far
I gotta ask does your wife and kids think your funny
I think you are hilarious 🤣 funny and a pleasure to watch you in these projects you take on. Nothing fazes you, you take each obstacle or hiccup and just work through it and no project seems to big for you I look forward to each day you post a new video your knowledgeable and what you don’t know you figure out by searching internet or utube videos or asking someone. I’m not sure what state you are in but if your close I’d come out and give you a hand anytime. Thank you for making my days a little brighter 😇
Gotta say Mike,
You are definitely upping your game.👌
Too bad there was so much rust on the tow truck frame, but looks like a lot of good usable parts, extra glass, brake lines, and maybe even a few hydraulic lines to at least get things start. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.🤙
Your 15mm Socket has to be the same place where my multiple 10mm's are.!!
Captain Kleeman at the pace your going , the truck will be running . And Ford motor Company will calling you to give motivational speachs at their plants .🎉🎉🎉😂😅😅😊
Three into one does go !!!
Maybe you should name the tipper the 353 ?? 🤔
You have come a long way through the build, mid March is achievable, unless you get another distress call from the Admiral 😵🤣
Fancy leaving the sprinklers on in your shop...... 🙄😂
Great job Capt
You can always shelf the interior pieces that you're not going to use for later repairs.( If needed) and I would get the heater core , maybe the steering box dash controls and the knobs , stuff ' em in a box, you may not be able to find them in the future because they may become obsolete
Come on 100,000
Slow but sure!
Cheering along with you! 82.1k today (April 11, 2024).
You’re doing a great job. Can't wait for the day when you’re doing this King of work in thr warnth of you "Headquarters" in the near future. 🙂👍🇮🇪
👍💪🏻AWESOME, making good progress, still enjoying the series on the truck build, appreciate your work, thanks for the video.
Captain I love your determination and drive, no doubt you’ll end up with a running dump truck in the end! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Excellent as always, thank you Mike 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
You need to get a bit tarpaulin to attach to the side of the shop to work under when its raining bud🙃😉
You are a hard working man I enjoy watching your videos.
Great video Captain Kleeman
Never a dull moment…thanks, Captain!
It’s coming along Mike, peace brother
Great progress Capt 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
The weather in your garage really changes a lot. Glad to see it doesn't hold up progress. Wish I had the energy you do. Of course I'm probably twice your age. I may be driving down your way early April.
That rain 18:16/22:12, makes me feel home sick. even though I am at home right now in London England UK. 👈👺👀🚬😒👍
good progress today Mike, great video 👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Another interesting and entertaining video. Looking forward to seeing this job completed and the truck in use at its intended job. Wishing you and your family the best.
Good morning Captain Kleeman
Good morning sunshine! Your reaction to things are priceless! You have the attitude we all need! Great video! Much love from Henderson Ga USA
Good morning my friend….lets go !
Definitely worth the wait. Keep it rolling 👍
hello Mike & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Mike & Friends Randy
A good build
You have mad come-along skillz.
The interior parts, the axel, and various other parts should cover the cost of what you paid for the truck. Selling the transmission and the tow body will hopefully make you a little money, but those bootleg Kevin Costner movies will make bank. You’re gonna need a dump truck to haul all that cash. 🐶
You made a lot of progress in this video! I can definitely see the goal of your project now!! As always Mike thank you for bringing us along on your adventures!!!
When you are one man moving you need an assistant on the steering, best assistant is a little ratchet strap to hold steering wheel almost straight. Liking the progress.
Steering column is locked out with out a key. I could undo the hoses and do it that way. Not worth the time though. Appreciate ya watching!
460 starter has the top starter bolt from behind. Only the lower goes in from the front.
Thank you for this video very enjoyable, and we’ll see you on the next one
Good job Captain.
Only the Captain would wear a WHITE sweater when working on a truck!!! LOL
Me and the other arm chair mechanics are just loving the work you are getting done. But as I SIT and enjoy it my project is in my shop. I have no excuse I have cement floors and a roof. I'm lacking in the motivation. Ugh!
“I know it, when I said it, but it’s what I’m doing right now.” 😂
A fellow could find himself sleeping on the couch if he doesn’t get home in time to hide the Easter stuff.
Heck, no need to let the spare windshield go to waste. Might as well make a sunroof. lol
Nice job cool yard. Good show 😄👍👍👍👏👏
We’re getting some pretty good weather here north of Toronto that was nice enough to barbecue last night. Hopefully you’re also getting the nice weather there helping you out in the “shop”.
I love the videos! you should look into junkyard digs video on how they made the old truck have better better sound deadening. It was pretty cheap
I too enjoy some tools fresh from the Harbor, they have a distinct smell. Now, about that 555, sure seems heavy in the front with all that stuff you welded on there. 😂
nice tire's too on that parts truck ;)
Another great video Captain!!!! Keep it up!
I hope sun comes out for your next video 👍😎
Good progress Mike!
Would you plase mind at some point doing a breakdown of what parts you're using from which truck to make frakendump? And also possibly your plans on what to do with the parts you won't be using? I get you're probably waiting till the end because you don't know what exactly you're going to need I might be jumping the gun a little bit LOL
Impressive progress.
Nice work my friend.
Enjoyed the video thanks for sharing 👍🏻
The Name of the dump track is Captain Kleeman's Ikea dump truck.
