Yeah I coded it into my mk6 Jetta😂 it’s nice for the summer time or when I forget to close my sunroof I can use my key to do it rather than going outside and doing it
@@lukasshort3618How do you do that? Does it require a vag-com or something? I’ve got a Mk6 and am tired of having to put my key in the door lock to roll all the windows down from the outside.
Although there's pros, there's also cons for this feature. My key fob fell into water, although I tried to dry it. The next morning I found my vw car windows rolled down and sun roof tilted open.🤔
Or if you live in Pacific North West and parks your car outside. It rains here a lot and while I was trying to tie my shoes and my keyfob in my pocket got jammed inside and accidentally started opening my windows and moon (sun) roof. Good thing it was just very light sprinkles so I quickly went to my car after seeing everything open up. I turned it off in my car setting after that. I have a 24 honda civic sport touring😂
my honda accord did this too and im pretty sure my 1st car (toyota 4runner) had this feature as well which was a big deal just having power windows ...1998 🥴 i will say i didnt know i had that feature for a good while back then though
Not every car has this feature. Some Kia's don't have it at all whilst the Kia Optima had it up and down, Hyundai don't have it, Alot of Japanese cars don't have this feature. Also some Peugeot, Citroen and Renault cars you can only wind them up but not down. The Peugeot 508 you can do up and down.
Mate all German cars have that technology since the late 80’s and early 90’s. S class Merk since the 70’s and you’re talking about it in 2024? German engineering
I had an Audi that did that and one day I came down after a night away with it parked on the street to find all the windows open. Clearly a butt press. But a stupid pointless feature.
Our old accord had this feature. The key was in my wife’s purse one day when we were at a store and it was raining. We came out to our car with all windows and sunroof open and the interior was completely soaked. Apparently something in her purse had pressed on the unlock button long enough for it to trigger the feature. Bad luck lol
2010 seat leon Cupra R (basically a poor mans golf R) does this, kinda mind blowing when i foud that out, and kinda cool they keeping some traditions 😎
Yes, for NA models (in Canada is same) they deactivated the closing from remote, but you can close by touching the lock sensor on the door handle. The sunroof also is not activated from remote. With OBDeleven or something similar you can turn everything on, though. Unfortunately, there isn't much else to activate besides this, so I'm not sure I'd recommend spending the money, better find a shop that can just turn that function on, for less money.
If pushing the lock button on the key fob doesn't work to roll the windows back up, push on the button on the door handles (the locking button on the door handle) and that will roll them back up!
And if yoy turn on comfort remote control using VCDS or obdeleven do you dont have to press and hold all the way upon locking/closing just hold it until you see windows rolling up and release it the windows and sunroof will keep closing
My new Mazda3 hatch does this and i cross shopped and looked at the GTI but the audio and climate "sliders" put me off. I also prefer the Mazda key because your can get painted key shells or leather or carbon fiber, and it feels really premium.

And then 2 weeks later you're putting a new battery in your fob.... VAG keys have such shitty batteries these days, ive had to replace like 4 batteries in the space of a year and a half
Because of this feature the windows opened as i accidentally sat on the keys and while it was pouring monsoon outside. The amount of water getting inside ruined the car as it never got rid of the humidity
That's a feature from as far back as the Golf Mk3. 1994. Mine still works.
Some jetta has it too !!
Comes in a pinch when your door handle breaks😒😒
Passat has it too
Mmmmmm i love it
90s accords do it too, with the key
Every German car got this or at least can be coded in😂

@@moffatk7948 don't do that
My golf from 1764 did this
My golf 4 from 24 years ago could do this.
Tip. Never do this by accident when the car is frozen. It broke my sunroof before.
It won't break it, the sunroof has a safety cut out though.
it won’t break the sunroof won’t open if it’s obstructed
I did this and now I can’t use the key method to open or close anything
Or never do it by the ocean at night when you roll over onto your keys. Woke up to a wet wet interior.

All VW’s have been able to do this since the late 1990’s
my 2004 gti already had this feature
Now if they can only make a decent water pump seal🤔
Gti and the water pump is always a thing. 😢
I think you're asking them for too much😅😂
I had a car in 1922 that did this
It first came out in the 1918 model though
Pardon me there, you mean you had a 1922 model or you had one in the year?
back in the ice age me and my boys used to do this all the time
I would love this Gti.. My family woupd really enjoy it.
One of the best features. I use it all the time.
I really wish I knew about that on my 2007 GTI.
Yes. My 2015 Ford Kuga has the same feature.
So annoyed that the back windows STILL do not roll down all the way!
They do that for a very good reason, the back seats of cars are primarily the habitat of Children
@@user-gm4bn7ql6u nope, its because the wheel arch is in the way. most cars have this problem.
I have the Cupra Leon and my sunroofe opens until the end when I do this

My 2002 lexus does that, as well as my 2008 and 2014 lexus 😊
which model? My Parents have 2 Lexus, an IS350 and an RX350 and they both don't do this.
If you have keyless entry, you can also press and hold your finger against the handle and it will do the same,
i'll have to try this!
my gti has that feature (2008)
Works on my 2008 Passat R36 😀
My 1997 e39 has this feature
My 2012 Golf did that you could recode the central electronics control module(J519) and unlock the feature.
This feature is available in my polo 2013 😂😂😂
Every car has this feature. My Renault Megane RS, My Alfa Giulia, Alfa Giulietta, Mini Cooper and even a 2007 Mercedes CLK

2015 honda has this feature including sunroof useful to close windows without sitting inside on Auxiliary mode
My ibiza does the lock thing with one short press
I have a 23 GTI base model and although it lowers the windows when pressing and holding unlock button they dont go up when holding the lock button 😢
I have the same car and found the same issue
Press and hold the lock button on the door handle to see if that works?
Same here for my 2024 Golf R , is that a problem need to fix?
In Europe, it's activated by default. In America, you need a programmer plugged it to enable the feature because it's off by default.
My 2009 vw Passat had this feature
Still annoys me that the windows go up at different rates/speeds, instead of in sync 😂
mine doesn’t go back up. only down. is there a setting i have to enable for it to do both on the fob?
I had this on my 1999 VW Bora VR5 4Motion Highline
Small gimmick but I Love it 😍
I had to code this on my 2012 GTI, it was a one owner vehicle. Bone stock and in perfect condition 👌🏼
More features added with the OBDELEVEN
This is common across a lot of cars. Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Ford, GM, VW, BMW, and others all have this feature on their models.

100% agree
When it sits in the sun for hours, wouldn't it be nice for the interior to be cool and vented when you get in it ? Yes, totally pointless.
My 2024 S4 can indeed do this too. VWs been doing it for decades.
Yes still has full closure 😎🤙🏽
I have the mark 7.5 and I don’t know if my car does this but I will check but not now my gsd will freak out if I open the door pass 9pm 🙄
It does not. You have to enable it through OBD11. At least I had to on my mk7.5
Yeah my car can do that is called Star Chery, it can even switch the car engine on
I will try this tomorrow on my ‘21 thanks.
The new Beetle does it, so does my MK7 refresh
WOW THATS AMAZING !!!
This works on all vag cars no matter what type my seat Leon FR does this also
Do they still have timing chain issues?
Does this work on 2013 Jetta tdi?
does the mk7.5 do this? I never knew. however, I never open my windows. I don't like streaks. :)
1995 Mercedes W202: Yes.
My 380 S doesn't roll the windows up. Are there versions that don't have this feature?
S550 Mustang had the global open, it was fun. But it wouldn’t go back up - I was stuck with it open lol

I tried this on my mk8 when I had, only the windows went down. I could never get them to go back up, does the “us models” not go back up?
I think so
Mine doesn't go up either... you have to press the door handle for up.
Same here they go down but not up. I think its a way for germans to make fun of americans 😂

My 1989 bmw 5 series had this and almost every car I’ve had since 🤷🏼♂️
There are multiple ‘gti’ models, up, polo, golf
In 1985 I had a Citroën that did that.
Did you know, with a VCDS cable you can program tons of VW/Audis to do this
my skoda octavia 2015 does this - so what's the fuss?
It used the slide the sunroof right back, but for some reason, it doesn't now.
yes i have golf 7.5 2018 and its the same
Wow congratulations to u for finding this out
I am happy with my 3 door, 2017 GTI. 2 windows up and down
First time? Yeah right! My W140 S-Class have that feature since 1996
Since 2005! Young man...
😂 my bloody Astra does that ffs 🤦♂️

My 2020’s Polo do the same thing! 😂😂😂

15 Year old Skoda Octavia vrs does that . And if you leave windows open and it starts to rain, it closes them.

Doi that's one of the most basic VW features! Any VW that doesn't do this just needs it turned on with a VAGCOM
Or obdeleven. Best bang for buck for $50/€45
I'd love to know how you just "turn it on with VAGCOM". Do you have VCDS??
Amazing this car can accomplish old tech
the world's hottest compact car........what a beauty........only seconded by Mazda
All cars should have this
It works in my Volkswagen Polo! 🙂
My 2005 Infiniti G 35 & 2011 Nissan Altima does the same thing
I drive a VW Polo TSi 2017 model and does the same thing, maybe people who drive VW are not aware of the function.
I thought all cars could do this, it's like a basic function in every car since the 2000's
