@@user-xe3qh3zj5y I think the comment was accurate. Volvo has a program where you pay, I believe around 500 a month, and that amount covers everything for 2 years and then you get a different volvo and continue the 500 a month. It's the ultimate in wasteful consumerism. It sounds like that's what they did for him.

No down payment, no long-term commitment, no hidden costs. Just one clear monthly payment that includes the usage of the car, maintenance, and insurance coverage. In addition, Care by Volvo includes other common services related to car ownership, including protection for excess wear, road hazard protection for tires and wheels, as well as roadside assistance.

Congrats... I’m a Volvo man since the late 80’s. My favorite models are mostly way back in the 90’s like 850 of 1993, 960 of 1995 and S80 of 1997. After a long wait of nineteen years from 1998 to 2017, finally the all new designed flagship S90 was rolled out and it Volvo became my dream car again.
But it disappoints me in the price point since after all the years the Volvo flagship has no intention to catch up with BMW 5 series, Audi S6, Mercedes E and it’s even cheaper than Genesis, this makes Volvo can’t move up to a real luxury car as it is supposed to be.

I remember an article in a car magazine in the 1980s. A woman in the UK commuting from Birmingham to Newbury every day in a VW Golf GTI, did well over 300,000 miles on the original engine and gearbox. Not as many miles as this Volvo but an achievement in the UK. Its a small country and not many people would do a 200 mile round trip to work in a car. Also, in those days a lot of cars went to the scrapyard once they hit 100,000 miles.

At least one of them did have to have the timing components replaced along the way, but it was well worth it. I have two Mercury Grand Marquis (same car as the Crown Vic) the '06 has 381,000 miles on it, no engine or transmission work, and it still runs like new. The other one I just bought recently. It is essentially just like renting but you are a little more responsible with the cars. Taxes could not be included but for a decent number a month you get a new car and only pay one place. This is also the first time in history it has been the same price or cheaper to get a new car vs a 2 or less year old car. Which will disappear just as quick as it came.
