This is a great artistic overview of local anesthetics and a great tool for us visual learners. I especially appreciated how the local anesthetic being ionized was illustrated due to the acidity of the inside of the cell membrane. This is an important first step (that I didn't understand in the reading of my textbook) in stopping pain by blocking the sodium channels (preventing sodium entry into the neurons), and stopping the action potential from propagating down the neuron.
God!! You just simplified 2-3hrs in 13 mins!!! Highly appreciated. Great job. Can't thank you enough. Keep making more such videos. More power to you. 😁
i'm an ambitious 8th grader working on an honors chemistry presentation. my dad being a nurse anesthetist, i thought i would chose HOW AND WHY LIDOCAINE WORKS. this video really helped. thank you!
oh man , you are such a great human being. the information I gained from watching your 10 minutes of video exceeded two hours reading my textbook. I am doing my master intensive care course, your video helped me a lot, thank you so much. love your you and you video xxx
this man doing this videos is just AMAZING! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHAT U DO AND MAKING THINGS UNDERSTANDABLE AND ENJOYABLE!! YOU HAVE SO MUCH INFORMATION TO SHARE AND I APPRECIATE YOU!
I'm revising Clinical Pharmacy at the moment for exam and these videos are absolutely brilliant! Its as if they're taken straight from the Rang and Dale text book! :)
I have been on RUclips ALL NIGHT looking for a good video to help break down AND give me an example of voltage gated ion channels for pharmacology class and dammit when I say you broke it down!! YOU BROKE IT DOWN DOWN...From science to lay terms. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! You explained the scientific part to the medication part and made it make sense
Amazing visualisation/drawing and explanation. I've visited other channels to know more about anesthetics for our tests but I only understood our lesson after watching this.
I had pain in my thumb and put topical lidocaine, watched this and it’s incredible how the pain is gone and knowing why my brain is not feeling pain..so cool!!
i really came back here to thank u i gave my presentation today and it went so well so i can't explain how much your video helped i wish to see more in sha Allah ❤😊
I really enjoyed the drawings! They really helped me gain a better understanding of how local anesthesia works in our bodies. The illustrations about cocaine and puffer fish was very interesting. It was also interesting to learn about the two different types of local anesthesia, lidocaine and procaine. I didn't realize that procaine is used mainly during surgeries. I guess you learn something new everyday! Thanks!
And it's often given with epinephrine to make the effect longer and reduces the toxicity! Sorry to make 3 comments I didn't mean to it just sent it by itself :))
I've had a dose of local anesthetic at the dentist that was strong enough to paralyze a good portion of the lower part of my face. I actually posted a video of it on my channel, lol. I found it pretty amusing. Either way, this was a very informative video and gave me exactly the information I was looking for. Well done.
I am very grateful for this instructive video. I wish you would a little mentioned how it's metabolism in body. Thanks again. Please carry on making such a great videos.
Thank u so much sir, was very useful.. but at least at the end of each video just show us the final picture of your drawing or of the picture so we can take screenshot for it and keep it with us for the future for rapid and easy revision.. thank you again 👍🏻
This video was really wonderful with helping understand the overall picture of local anesthesia. The pictures were super helpful being a visual learner as well. I thought an interesting fact was that cocaine was used as the first local anesthesia. I would have never guessed that!
I got a question about lidocaine if anyone can help me out! It is very hit and miss on me! If it does work theres a very slow uptake like 30 minutes to an hour if it works. Could this be an ion channel disorder? Or anything to do with sodium ect?
May God Grant you Success and all good things in life...THANK YOU FOR HELPING US AND MAKING OUR LIVES EASIER:) All the best You are really talented. Keep going
