I just bought one at a thrift store for $5 & it works just fine! Put a little water & or ice 4 a chiller effect. It saves on $, so I don't have 2 turn central air on! There's always some new upgrade but, I still like 2 try new stuff!
I leave in texas and bought this as a extra way to just cool a small space and let me tell it does as advertised as long as you wet and frezzee the filter and add ice cold water with ice cubes omg it's a portable ac and it cool my space.
Mine actually works… lol i did add ice maybe thats why but i have it oscillating and can feel the cool breeze in my room and it was 80 degrees today. Not saying its like the best thing I’ve ever seen for cool air but for its size it does the job for what i need it for 🤷♂️
It actually makes a lot of sense to have to pour the water over the filter. I've found myself constantly having to remove/soak/replace the filter on the pure chill (which is annoying).
I think the reason for the results of the Arctic Air Chill Zone XL is because the misters are located outside of the filter instead of behind the filter like the Pure Chill XL.
I just bought one a few days ago, went to check it out last night put water in plugged it in and pushed the button then Nothing happened. So decided maybe it has to charge so left it plugged in for 6 hours and tried again and Nothing. I need a recommendation for my car. I have Stage 4 Lung cancer and I drive for a Courier service. My cars AC doesn't work. Mechanic said $1500 to replace the lines.
Maybe find a good reasonable rechargeable fan that can be placed in your vehicle. Also definitely stay hydrated so you don't have a heat stroke driving in your car. I wish I could help you
You should see the trailer they made for this device they showed these copper pipes freezing in seconds like that's what the device has when all it has is a container to fill with water to pul in the freezer
I brought a DeWalt portable fan, no water and rechargeable batteries,I take it with me to my outdoor craft show, the next year just about everyone there just one. I have never seen anyone with this,it look like to much work I put a fully charged battery in and I have a cool breeze for almost 20 Hours.
Not gonna lie im not kinda regretting on ordering this unit if it does not work. They did also release the regular Arctic Air ChillZone that is a little bit smaller. who knows if that one is any good.
You can stick a thermometer in front of any fan, and the temperature will drop a few degrees. I made the mistake of purchasing one at Walmart for 68.00, including tax, and it doesn't do anything at all to cool, not to mention how noisy it is. A 12-inch regular fan will cool you off better than this thing for just 19.00 at Walmart. No returns once used and a real-time waste of money. Don't listen to all of these crazy comments, it'does not work at all. This company should be charged with fraud seriously.
orig name "swamp coolers" these are toy versions if you look up swamp coolers youll see the pro models that sell for 80 to 160 the way they work is exactly the same the bigger one i own cools a bit bigger area..but thats all and YES these will raise ambient room humidity they have never been recommended for humid areas bc this is def going to raise ambient humidity levels by as much as 20% more. hence it CAN raise ambient room temp as well...these are made to sat in fron tof to make you feel cooler it will never ever cool down ANY room save for MAYBE a tiny tiny closet..its for your desk or bet table nothing more the peopel waiting for room temp to drop are just stupid and havent read anything about these things and are expecting it to be a REAL air conditioner it it was an ac unit it would have freon a compressor ets ets and it would be closer to the 300 buck price point..
@@Jeffreviews4u the air feels like standing of the coast of Florida or Puerto Rico and feeling the breeze from the ocean. Not anywhere near where the Arctic is
they should have kept the paper filter. I bought the pure chill 2.0 last year and it was good but the original was better. the paper obsorbing the water is what made it cold. we still have the original one. I'm gonna buy the pure chill xl.
Agreed, the original one was actually the most effective at creating cool air, it's just it was inconvenient because if you didn't use all the water and just let the filter sit in it mold would start to grow. All the versions after had filters that were too shallow, unlike the original one. The air needs time to cool as if passes along the pleats of the filter. The original arctic air filter was much deeper so the air passing through it had enough time to actually cool down.
This thing doesn't work for long as in the cooling pads are small and don't last long at all and good luck cooling down a small space let alone a room. You need multiple pads that you can freeze and reuse.
@@Jeffreviews4u I actually like the Arctic Air chill zone XL, at nights, I run this instead of the AC and I can still feel comfortable and I live in Florida. I guess you can say that this puts out more like a tropical breeze rather than arctic air like when I go to the beach here in Panama City, Florida. In summer, being out on the beach is actually more cooler than being more inland.
As an owner of a Chill Zone XL, I think you're kind of measuring the cooling effect wrong. Because the mister is right below the fan, you need to move the temperature gauge to maybe two inches in _front_ of the Pure Chill XL, and in that case the cooling effect you can feel is quite pronounced.
Don't waste your money on any of these arctic air products. They aren't worth it and they don't cool down anything. For them to work, u have to be in front of them to do any good. I bought a few to see if they work and they don't cool anything.
ICE CUBES, FREEZING FILTER AND ADDING WATER??? I THOUGHT YOU ONLY HAD TO PUSH A BUTTON!
Lol. Oh no. There's a bit of set up to get the cooling feature..pretty annoying. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍

@Jeremy-dy5zv yeah buddy it did for me now maybe if you have a large sauce it won't.
@@alexander2685 lol I was kidding budd.👍
Great video I actually watched an old Arctic air review from you years ago ive been subscribed ever since
Very cool! Thanks for the support. Hopefully, the videos have gotten better since then, lol. 👍
I have the new one but how do you clean the TANK.. so frustrating

It's a swamp cooler so of course it works in low humidity.
How do you drain the tank?
I just bought one and was putting it all together through your video 😂
So far it's ok but I'll let you know later for sure...
How big is the reservoir

How can you drain the water in the tank?
I bought this and the plug gets hot if it's plugged in too long. I don't think it cools as much as it should.
I have noticed plugs getting hot on these units as well. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍
Not liking this. Too much water spraying and running out of the bottom. Can the spray be controlled
I got one some other brand same idea you add water and ice cubes it dont work well unless you are sitting right beside it.
never got a cord with my unit ...lol
Does it work without charger

great ivdeo this helped me out because i dont have to shower
Very sad that the upgrade version is a bust. At first I had thought you got a dud version. Great video anyway
Noticed that the humidity jumped up fast. No good for Florida .

I was pretty disappointed with the upgraded. I'll keep checking to see if I can find the chill zone locally.
@@Jeffreviews4u once mine arrives I’ll see if it’s any good. If not that I’ll stay with the good old reliable
I have a regular chill zone. It's just like the XL only half the size. The XL is better, though, I say.

I do not like the power cord. It needs to run with out the power cord. This one is a bust.

I bough the chill zone for $45 on clearance. It does feel like a glorified fan. Absolutly no way is worth $80. Tbh. Feels like a $20-30 product
