Wow...you look amazing...have always loved your makeup videos... Get well soon dear..I could hear it in your voice...and yes was nice to see you after very long... Take care 💕💕💕💕
Pretty look & it answered my question about the warmer makeup with the silver gray hair. My skin tone is cool/neutral, so I can wear the warmer colors, yay! Glad you're back. I hope you enjoyed going home to the UK, my favorite trip was to London and the Lake District.
Glad you liked this, Jackie! If you're cool/neutral, you could start by using a neutral, earthy shad in contour, and using a little gold on the lid - great for the holidays! Yes, the Lake District is so beautiful!
Kerry-Lou, I am so happy you are back! You have been missed! You look absolutely RADIANT! Those green eyes of yours just POP with these autumn colors. ❤🤗
Kerry-lou, we missed you too x. Wonderful video and lovely look. Jealous much of your trip to the UK (international borders still closed in the land of Aus)
It's so nice to see you, Kerry-Lou, and you look just beautiful as always! Thank you for working with some warmer colors, as even though I'm fair, I wear the warm tones. Can't wait to see more!!!
This was such a fun video. When you first applied the foundation I was unsure how you could possibly make the end result look so natural. To say I am WOWed is an understatement. The colors were beautiful. And boy oh boy did your eyes look striking. They stood out in such a gorgeous way. I've never watched a video where someone purposely picked a foundation that didn't match their skin tone. Fascinating...Now, I think I'll go bake an apple pie. Though I'm not sure why. 😉❤
Great, I'll be right over - I'll bring coffee! I'm so glad you liked this Virginia - you definitely have to work much harder when the foundation isn't such a good match! Also, you have to apply it all over, whereas with my normal foundation, I concentrate on the areas that I need it most. It was a fun experiment though, and I think I will wear some eyeshadows on the warmer side, like the gold on the lid. It's fun to play!
At first I didn’t think I’d like the warm pallet. But it is lovely! I am neutral and tend to prefer cool tones with my greying hair. You give me courage to shake things up a bit! Love the cinnamon and gold shadows and the natural brow. Love the idea of building my own shadow pallet. Long ago learned to not waste my $ on large pallets. Looking forward to your future videos. Welcome back!
Glad you liked this! since you're neutral, you can dabble on the warm side too. Perhaps use neutral brown, but then some gold on the lid? Nice for the holidays! All the best x
Kerry-Lou! I've watched all your videos, finally figured out how to sign in. I'm also having a warm tones appreciation moment. Hey sista, go sista, soul sista, go sista. Hope to see you soon!
Thank you so much, yes, I had so many people saying "what about us warm toned ladies?" so that's why I did the video like this. It does show why one should find their correct color palette though, as you say, it looks pretty, but not as good as when I use the cool colors.
Yes Jen, so many people are vaccinated around where we live. I have been taking make up jobs again, everybody’s very careful though, they have to be tested before a photo shoot and they must be vaccinated, so pretty safe. I hope Australia will be opening up soon, and you are doing well!
Hello again, friend! Thank you for not waiting to have the optimal circumstances for doing your video because I can assure you, this one turned out perfectly. Thank you for inspiring me to get more creative with colors. The one product I know well is the Mac lip pencil in Spice. It’s been my friend for at least a decade and they had better not discontinue! I’m waiting to be your guinea pig anytime we’re in the same area. Great to see you looking as beautiful as always. 🤗
Hi Wren, I would love to use you a my model! Regarding the pencils - It looks as though they HAVE discontinued the regular wood EYE pencils - I hope they don't discontinue the regular lip pencils also! they have had these pencils since the company started! All the best to you! xx
I liked so much your make up today...How do you know what combination of eyes shadows you will use? So bright and clear make up...i have dark circles and i dont know what colour to use..may be you can show us in the future..thank you for this "happy"and encouranging video
Thanks for your question Lena, many of my color choices are instinctive. I have always loved to paint, and it's a similar skill set. You could get a "color wheel" if you area interested in learning about color relationships, they don't cost much, and they are fun - maybe I'll do a video on that :-D Some people find that concealer with a peachy, or orange tone helps with brownish circles, maybe it's best to visit a Sephora beauty counter when you think it's safe - be aware, they WILL give samples of concealers if you ask! Good luck!
Its so nice to see you again as its been a while. Sorry you were sick but you look fabulous now and hope you are feeling good too. Love this look. xoCathy
Buen día Kerry, me encanta como explicas para pintar el párpado, yo los tengo un poco caídos, te ves hermosa, fresca, bella, que tengas linda tarde, desde Buenos Aires, Argentina, te saludo, que estés bién! 🌹🌹
Beautifully done. Outer corner is my problem. Primer, Clinique, followed by powder, loose Clinique. Many brands of eyeshadow palettes. When I get to the outer corner the skin has a fold. Which does go across the whole eye. The darkest shade gets stuck and can’t blend it out. Should I tilled my head back? Or lift with my fingers to apply the darkest shade at the outer corner? I am new to your channel. ♥ You’re so pretty. I am so sorry to see your mom passed away 🙏🏼 Hope you can help. Judy
Thanks very much Judi, I should do a video to address this "outer corner" issue. I do have ideas, but too much for this comment section, but basically, don't do too much at the outer corner, instead, try focusing a darker shade above your iris area! it sounds like you are doing a technique that used to work, but doesn't any longer. Stay tuned😉
I've never used brow gel. I've just used a blonde pencil and smudged it in. Should I try gel? I used to have beautiful eyebrows but since I've aged, they've become the same color as my skin. I just want them natural but darker.
Thanks for watching, I like the gel because you can feather your eyebrows upwards with it, I kind a like that look. Sometimes I will use both a little pencil first and then the eyebrow gel.
Kerry-Lou did a great video on coloring eyebrows with commercial hair coloring (actually men's beard color). I love following her method to color my thinning more-salt-than-pepper brows! It only lasts a week or so, but in the mean time you will always see your brows! It also makes my brows look more natural when I use pencil or gel to just fill in the gaps & tame the hairs into shape.
Thank you again for a brilliant video, I always learn something new. Do you have any tips on how to stop eyeliner on the waterline from slipping, I really struggle with that and often don't bother using on my lower lashes as it just slides off. Sorry to hear you had the awful cold that apparently has it's own hashtag here in the UK #theworstcoldever!!! It seems as though everyone has succumbed to it. Keep well x
Thanks Helen, glad you liked this! Waterline can be a tricky place for eyeliner, as this area's function is to keep the eye clean. I don't often do this look for myself, but when I do, I dry the waterline first, and holding it away from the eyeball, quickly use a water-proof pencil. I wouldn't really recommend doing this everyday though, as I'm not sure what the long term effect on the eyes would be. I will try to touch on this in a video though, thanks!
Great video! Even though I’m a cool palette ((“Winter”), as I get older I find myself gravitating towards the warmer palettes. It just livens up my face. I look forward to models and the end to our Covid “house arrest”. Stay well and safe😊❤️
Hi Karen, so good to see you here, I hope you’ve been well. Sometimes our palettes do change for sure. Modifying our look can be a good thing, I’m glad I tried this blush in this video I ended up quite liking it. 🌸😘
I love your tutorials and I love that you are using more thrifty priced make-up, however, I would love to see more cruelty free makeup. Maybelline (sp?), Revlon, Benefit, MAC all do animal testing. You are a beautiful woman. Thank you for sharing.
This may seem weird, but at 66 years old, I've never been comfortable using lipstick. I've bought it plus lip liner pencils several times, but applying it ... I don't feel like it looks right. The naturally pink part of my bottom lip is thin compared to the fuller shape size, if that makes sense. I think it's"normal" to color in that flesh-tone section, but does that mean I have to do multiple layering steps to get stable even coverage? I know I need to use lip liner to keep lipstick from smearing out like... I've smeared pink goo way beyond an edge. But I don't know where to put the line so I don't look like I'm wearing theater stage makeup. I just feel like all attempts so far look like an embarrassing mess. Thank goodness for wearing masks inside public buildings, but I want to be more colorful (instead of tight thin lipped) on zoom gatherings, and I want to be brave enough to wear lipstick at real-life family gatherings without my nephews & in-laws making weird faces (sigh). I see people just quickly apply lipstick in a few swipes and look fine. When I try practicing that at home (thank goodness, in this instance, that I live alone), I just feel silly. Help!
@@kerrylou3 you are welcome. I am very cool with white/silver hair, blue eyes that turn green. I don’t wear warm/spicy colors. The tip you about a darker concealer under the eyes I totally get. I have bags that look like I’ve been hit in the eyes.
Those warmer eyeshadows really pop your green eyes! I think I may be bold and try some warmer shades with my green hazel eyes even though I am very cool pale! Thank you Kerry! Great tutorial and so glad you feel better!
Thank you for your well wishes Jennifer! You absolutely should try it....don't change the color of the base like I did though. That was mostly for demo purposes. The blush and the bronzer can be on the warm side like I used, I was surprised how nice this blush was.

Yes, lavender and purples are great to bring out green - the warm colors worked here because these eyeshadows with kind of orangish undertones bring out blue, so they brought out the blue in my green eyes, making them more blue/green than brown/green - hope that makes sense lol! xx
Love your hair…. It looks a bit shorter again. What type of cut did you get? My hair is just like your’s but your’s looks far better. Any help appreciated!!,
Thanks Barbara, yes I've had about three cuts this year! I like to try various NYC curl specialists. About a month ago I went to Ouidad NYC, and love the cut. Anila cut more layers in the top, which stopped it looking so flat, especially around the back. I think it's time for another hair update video!
