Learning four notes at a time makes a complicated lick very doable. Can't wait to start this one. Thank you.
Hi Adrian,
I've played for over 30 yrs and must say I'm very happy you choose to share these lessons with us. Concise, clear and authentic - I'm learning some great stuff and trying new things - many many thanks.
Your explanations of picking/right hand technique is superb !
The country lick/lessons are my favorite of all your videos lessons
Wow.... As a 30-year pro guitarist-vocalist, bassist, drummer, and wanna be keyboardist I couldn't subscribe and hit a thumbs up fast enough.... this guy's totally awesome....
My buddy and I started a country/blues rock trio with his wife and we play at local restaurants and golf courses actually lol. I had to learn cliche country riffs to pull off the lead guitar role of the band and these videos have helped me tremendously. Thank you for creating them. They have made me a better player. Cheers
Great stuff as always Adrian. I very much appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise with others. You convey your lessons in such a way as to make them, for me at least, easy to understand and learn. I'd say you're a natural teacher and a grand player with it!
This is so cool, I could listen to it again and again and it's fun to play... thanks Adrian!
Brilliant Adrian! Thanks so much for all the detail on the left-hand fingering and the right hand picking!
Adrian your courses are fine and easy , i'm always learning something new . Hope you'll keep on doing the good work with your cool attitude and talent , thanks a lot !
I appreciate your lessons, and this country lick is mighty fine. . I always look forward to your lessons and style of teaching. Keep up the good work
I can't thank you enough for these blessings please keep uploading. you're a legend
As always, a fine lesson! Love your style, humor and approach. Thanks for sharing!
A great lick....always loved hybrid picking. You do it so well.
Superb tutorial - this guy has a straight forward uncomplicated technique - well worth following if this is your bag.
Excellent lesson! You're doing a great job...keep it up!
Very nice Adrian. I appreciate your lessons. They are extremely concise and well put together. Nice job.
Wow! And thank you for these great lessons.
Adrian, you have great taste in guitar selections. Also, the atmosphere of your room is so relaxing, and your lessons are super helpful. Super fun! Thanks again! Makes me want to pick up my guitar!
Great lesson as always, Adrian. Thank you.
I just subscribed, Adrian. You got me with this one buddy, great job!
Just stumbled upon your channel. Got a gig with a working country band. Never really played country music before and trying to find some licks I can actually use on stage. Great videos man. Keep up the good work.
Another great lesson by Adrian!
Thank you for the lesson Adrian well taught and very clear many thanks
I use a lick almost like this as an ending to my song also as an ending to my solo in that song.
I'm metal lead guitarist but I Love this style of music as well. Super fun to play.
Adrian, your stuff is brilliant, you make it easier for us mere mortals.
I really enjoyed this lesson too, thanks Adrian!
Great, great, nuanced lesson. Thanks much for this one. Really appreciate the detail on fingering and technique. Really came alive for me when I changed my fretting as you suggested at the end. I,m helping a freind choose a guitar next week, andcan’t wait to casually “unleash” at the shop at the end of Mystery Train (another great lesson of yours).
As always a great lick lesson. Thanks a million
Brilliant lick and brilliant video
Great stuff Adrian, keep up the good work!
Simple and essential! Great lick, thank you
Adrien, I was in Nashville last week and visited Gruhn guitars and this American Original 50's telecaster, ash body, butterscotch blond nitro finish with pure 52 single coil pickup just called my name so I obliged and this guitar is absolutely wonderful. It looks just like yours.
One thing that I find very hard to do is hybrid pick. I have been travis picking for many years and it is completely natural for me but if I put a pick in between my thumb and index finger and try to pick with the middle ring and little guy I find it hard to do. I guess I need to just practice and this lesson look like it will help. You're good at it. I appreciate your lessons, many thanks from Texas.
Thanks for another great lick .. I like to play the final E chord on the on
12th fret , open low E ringing 0-X-11-11-12-12 then whine the bigsby. ;-)
Thank you so very much for taking the time to reply, the question was prompted by watching video of George Harrison playing with John Lennon and noted he played different chords from John when not riffing or soloing, as you say giving slightly differing
voicing s to the rhythm. Absolutely love your channel!
Dang, that sounds good, Adrian. I'll be working on this. Keep it coming.
very nice lick, and excelent lesson, thank you!
Great lesson! Thank you very much!
I get So Giddy when you give lessons and instructions on what looks to be (initially) Too complicated, because, once you start to break it down (after the initial open) you show that "anyone can play guitar"! :) Even though this was done in 2017, I thank you for having these videos here for us to reach back on. :)
You always have useful licks. You are a good teacher. Thanks. I'm sub'd.
Yes, can you show us how to play the first part as well please?
Another killer lesson - thanks!!!!
Great lick mate. Had fun with this one
Looking forward to doing my first guitar show. Thanks Adrian
Great lick! Just want to say I subscribed a little while ago and I LOVE your lessons and ideas. I love that you can go from James Burton to Joy Division (two of my big musical inspirations as well)!
REALLY enjoyed this!
Your teaching pace was PERFECT,... i needed that extra info!
Thanks, that was a good vid!
Muito bom meu amigo, lindo demais esse solo !!
loved this, thanks mate :-)
Adrian just discovered your channel, very cool playing, clean and precise, anyone may be able to play, but not like you. I think its funny that kinda grin when you play, I'm going through and learning lots of your licks, seems most UK guitarist are shredding and teaching fusion stuff, Graham, Govan, Quale. From Kentucky, [so the country, bluegrass stuff is great] but in Sunny Florida now, in Country Band. Thanks Mate, Cheers!
Super. merci et bravo pour la pédagogie 👍
Great lick!
REALY LIKE HOW YOU PLAY JUST GREAT .

"...the kind of thing that will wow people when you unleash it in the middle of a guitar shop" LOL
Hey Adrian!!! Another classic smooth lick that’ll blow most people away! Keep them coming buddy. Is that a Super Champ you’re using?

Good Hybrid Picking!!
Great🎸🎸🎸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
hello Adrian! thanks for your another great video. could you please be so kind to tell what brand(s) of strings you prefer to use on electric guitars. thank you !
you always have a great tone, what amp and fx's do you use?
Hi Adrian. Please tell me to stop hopping from one great lesson to the next and stick with one 'til i've got it. I think I've got Guitar Lick Attention Deficit Disorder (GLADD?).!!
Nice. Subbed.
Thank from Thailand
will be sure to sample this on my next grime mixtape
Do it, that will make my career if I'm sampled on a grime record!
hahaha best comment ever
can you get a reee-wind?
How do you do that little rythm bit at the start, same as the chap below . I'm going to try and get it by using the slowdown function on RUclips
This lick alone is worth having subscribed to your channel. Great. What Tele is it you're playing?
The look on your face when u play an Awsome lick... Sweet
Thanks, man. What is a key to choose which open strings do you hit while playing?
Beautiful lick and what model Tele is that your playing
You're a fucking great guitar player man...
Awesome lick!!! Could you do lesson on the first bit you played?
yes please.
I was also waiting for that
If possible can you do the pulloffs in the B7 down to the A7 chord in the beginning ,,, thanks for this workout !!!
Awesome a lesson on the intro would be fun to learn
Heck yeah, Larry. Let's get the intro hybrid picking as well, sounds great.
@anyonecanplayguitar thanks for the great videos. I'm new to your page, just out of curiosity do you have a video that covers the chords you used to start this lick. I'd love to learn how to pick the bar chords like you do. Thanks for your time
Thanks Daniel. Maybe take a look at a video I did on rockabilly/country rhythm which is very similar to the kind thing I do at the start of this video: ruclips.net/video/W2OVsPQYJfM/видео.html
Show!!!
What amp are you using? Nice.
Beautiful
Like deployed 👍
😎🎙🎸✅
That is really a cool nifty little lick, thanks Adrian :) Do you write that?
Danny Gatton surely! He must be an influence :)
Combine this with "A Speedy Country Lick To Revolutionize Your Soloing" and you've got some bad ass soloing going on.
Now that’s twang my friend
I was waiting for James Burton, he is still the king of chicken pickers. But Chet Atkins tried to copy Merle Travis and later on , as friends he named his daughter, Merle. Funny story back in the sixties, I watched , he came on an awards show and I heard him play a song I could play..I was around 16.. I was telling him.. no Chet don't play that one, that's easy. I didn't know that Chet was known to almost every one. Years later I found he was president of RCA records. Enjoyed this rockabilly tune... I like open string licks. It gives the sound texture.
How can I get the tabs to the lessons
I'm seeing that typical country soloists are not shy with their sharps and flats....:)
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
How does a lead guitarist decide which chords to add to what the rhythm guitarist is playing and how best to in crease volume quickly to cut through the rhythm during solos?
That's a big question, with lots of possible answers. Basically you need to be listening carefully, and then try and fit in with what the rhythm guitar is doing. Lots of options. Maybe finding some different ways of voicing the same chords, or playing in a different register/part of the guitar. For solo, either step on a boost pedal. Or set your amp at solo volume and back off the volume using the volume knob on your guitar at other times.
Wow. I just saw on your website that you have been playing for over 30 years. I thought you were like 25 years old.
at the end !
Ahhsomeola 🤠🎸
Never attempted hybrid picking before, this a good video to start learning or would you recommend something easier ?
How about the first part please
