Slash went to Guns 'N Roses and CC went to Poison. My favourite songs are "Every Rose Has Its Thorn (1988) & I Won't Forget You (1986)

      @subifyouareagainstantifaan3928 There are good artists out there still. RUclips and other social media platforms have given this young generation a platform, independent of the greed from recording companies. They manage themselves, produce and distribute their music, physically [CDs] and digitally. I am a product of the greatest period of music - the mid 60's to the mid 70's. I am 66, my first concert was 12 days before my 13th birthday in March of 1970, Humble Pie opened for Grand Funk Railroad. Before the year was over. I'd seen Deep Purple, Jefferson Airplane, Mountain, The Grateful Dead, Ten Years After, Black Sabbath, and 10cc. To date I have 193 live shows under my belt. The last 3 being, young talented artist that have honed their craft. I only found them via RUclips and reactions like this. Blackberry Smoke, Larkin Poe, and Home Free. There are others out their than need our attention, that are just as good and deserving. I call them the "underknown". Groups like The Rainbow Girls, Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Brother Dege, Marcus King, Billy Strings, Avi Kaplan, Ali Handal {a cancer survivor like myself that befriended my while I was going through my treatments with numerous emails of encouragement}, Mean Mary, and Chip Taylor & The New Ukrainians {while older, spent most of his life writing hits for others such as "Wild Thing", and dozens of others like "Angel of the Morning"}, just to name a few off the top of my head. My point is, while it's fun to hear blast from the past and see reactions from people that never heard some of these rock, blues, country and folk classics. Someone needs to be the voice for the new and upcoming artists that are still creating great music. One more new recording and touring artist I discovered a few years ago, and you might know his name from his "other job" is Kiefer Sutherland. Yes, that Kiefer, writes nearly all his own stuff too. If anyone wants more of these underknown artist I have found, just holler, be more than happy to share.

    OMG I remember the 80s and how much fun music was. I graduated High School in 87 and when this song came out I was a big metal head. I had been playing guitar for a few years (classical and jazz) and had started studying music theory in college.
    I was a bit ashamed at how much I liked this song. LOL It was such a simple basic song compared to other stuff I was listening to but you can't deny how catchy and fun the song is. I soon got over being ashamed of liking simple catchy pop/rock music. It doesn't have to be complex to be enjoyable.

    This channel is a breath of fresh air!!! I have been waiting for someone to share and explain to the younger generation the life that we lived during the late 70’s and all of the 80’s. It was all controlled reckless abandon and unharnessed fun. Van Halen and Rush were my introduction to guitar rock, then the 80’s blew up with bands like this. I saw Poison live with Warrant as the opening act. Pure entertainment! Keep up the good work.

    • @JesusManera
      @JesusManera Год назад

      Warrant were one of the most underrated bands. I feel sorry for them that the Cherry Pie single defined them, because even the rest of that album (well most of it anyway) is just excellent melodic hard rock. Jani Lane was a fantastic songwriter and vocalist. My wife and I used 'Mr Rainmaker' as the entrance song to our wedding reception.

  • @MrSmithOriginal
    @MrSmithOriginal Год назад +7

    The first concert I went to was Poison and Warrant in 1991, thanks to my big sister for taking me. I was 13 years old and it was awesome.
    Poison has too many great songs to mention but Cry tough has an almost magical quality to the guitar sound and the Flesh and Blood album really needs to be heard in it's original entirety to truly be appreciated in my humble opinion.
    Back in the 80's many people were first exposed to the music via radio, at least where I come from, and we didn't care what the people looked like as long as the music was good.
    Thanks for the reaction! :)

Before '86 sound quality was quite different from artist to artist, and most videos still had that '70s bad sci fi budget'. 1987 was a 'massive' year in music and video quality..... and most amazing songs and videos that I remember from that era typically were around that year.

    EDIT: On the speaking to the 'working stiff' comment, I always thought Poison were like the Glam Metal version of Blackfoot as they had the similar 'vibe' tho' they couldn't be more different in culture :D I can listen to this song and move straight on to, say, Dry County, without pause.

    Nice Reaction, Poison has only been to my town once I think. 1989 for Open up and Say Ahh! Began listening to them when they first started getting played on MTV. So many good bands then.

    My band played this just last week at my school reunion. Did a whole night of 80’s. Poison, Motley Crüe, Duran Duran, Loverboy, Alice Cooper, Starship, Cher, Guns n arises, Bon Jovi, Warrant, Def Leppard. Was such a fun night. Great songs.

    I just saw them in July and they sound the same! Hair isn’t poofed up as much now. The hair and make up at the time of this video is courtesy of the drummer. He was a hairdresser and cosmetologist. They still make the Aqua Net! 😂 I still use it. You can walk out in a wind storm and it don’t move. Lol!!! I saw them, Joan Jett, Def Leppard, and Mötley Crüe all in one day!!! It was so awesome!!! Def Leppard and Mötley are touring together right now.

    The first time, as a kid, that I saw the 'Look What The Cat Dragged In' album cover in a CD store, I thought to myself "Oh I thought Poison were male, I didn't realise they were a girl band"!
    Funnily enough, about 10 years later I was playing 'Bobby Dall' in a Poison tribute band for a couple of years!!

    Saw them many times since they started touring. Sex, drugs and Rock N Roll.....it was truly "Nothin' But A Good Time". I still live the debauchery of the 80s. And nothing offered today can match the holding power of Aqua Net...in the pink can. And it's still available! Good times....great memories.

    Just running into your channel. I love that she’s so receptive to this stuff. I had a poster of all these bands back in the day. Def Leppard always had 2. Keep up the good work, react to some Leppard please lol

    🤘😎🤘 This was a very cool reaction! This song came out a few days before my 16th birthday. The song and video are still a lot of fun to listen to and watch. Flesh & Blood and Ride The Wind are my favorite Poison songs, but this one is definitely top 5!!!

    Poison's music is timeless. It's also in your face. It's upfront about there messaging. There's no misinterpreting a song from Poison. Which is usually about a three letter word.
