Great kick! Didn't lose his form! He leaned a little bit forward at the start of his kick in the straight like a sprinter. Nice move
Good to see Drew get a win and a PR! That must feel good for him
Chance of a sub 4??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I feel like I’m back in the 80s when watching this race😂
Why?
@@GamingSpiral You are too young to understand
I feel that vibe aswell
I feel that vibe aswell
Why are they even talking about sub 4? It’s a pro mens race, they should all be going sub 4
you make it sound so easy😂
@@benseiler603 I’m not saying it’s easy by any means but drew broke 4 in highschool, commentators did seem to understand the caliber of runners in the race
They’re commentators, it’s to make the race more interesting I suppose. It’s always been like this for the mile..
Yay so happy for him! He’s been through hell the last few years and the fact they he’s crushing it like this right now is awesome. Rooting for you big time bud.
What has he been through? I remember him years ago crushing everyone in HS..... then he went pro and I havent heard his name since
@@lotty4006 I hear you. He’s been through injuries, depression, and disappointment due to underperforming. To be fair he’s had some stellar races in the last 5-6 years, but there was a lot of physical and emotional tumult along the way caused by injuries and difficulty healing properly, and not being able to express his full potential as a runner. I believe this led some in the running fandom world to dismiss him and stuff. I learned some of this from a blog post he wrote and posted within the last year or so. You can probably find it by Google searching Andrew Hunter blog about injuries or something.
Joey Berriatua. Only achieved a 5min mile JR of HS.
Dude is in 3:52 shape. Glad to see him back
Watching Hunter felt a bit like watching Steve Prefontaine run……gutsy runner with a lot of talent.
Crazy how Ingebritsen is just SOOOO much better than all of these guys
I lived in the town next to Drew’s father Marc in high school and ran dual meet mile runs with him. A few years later he was the top American at NCAA XC Championships. You never know how far someone can go with hard work. Hope that Drew keeps getting better and stays healthy.
So good to see Drew run well...anyone deserves it he does.
You love to see it ⚒️
1-2 for the best friends, this makes me happy 💪🏾
That’s the smoothest Hunter has looked - body motion looks inline and comfortable. Congrats Drew! Great race.
It was the moustache, made him more aerodynamic
Mad how he’s been a pro for years but likely wouldn’t win a title in the NCAA..
Anyone know why drew was under team adidas and not tinman?
I guess it's bc he was signed directly by Adidas, that is who he has a contract with. Tinman elite athletes are signed to Tinman, which sponsors the team (a team formed by Drew Hunter). If Drew dissolves TME today,he's still under contract to Adidas. If a Tinman athlete leaves Tinman,no more Adidas
I feel like most ppl who sign a pro contract out of high school become mid tear athletes because he’s only shaved 3 seconds off in 6 years of professional running, something about running year round and competing for a 7-8 months out of the year must just give ppl the strength or speed that professional running doesn’t give you. The same thing seems to be happening to Hobbs Kestler, he’s hardly running within 10 seconds of his times last year
Truly amazing how quick this is. Most people are lucky to run an 8 minute mile.
Back? Who is he?
Thank you very much for this great video...I was a good runner 40 years ago..
His form is exactly the same, he never looks relaxed.
I’m not extremely familiar with Drew’s form, but I though he was limping, especially right at 800m.
@@toddpollock9234 I saw some of his high school races he has a bob/bounce to his run that looks odd to me.
you really notice it in his 2015 foot locker nationals race senior year on RUclips, i guess if it ain’t broken don’t fix it?
@@combatbeatdown just because it's not broke doesn't mean you can't fine tune it.
@@joeevett9007 oh well
That’s crazy, he would have to consistently run every 100 meters in 14.625 seconds.
And he’s not even close to the world record of 3:43
WTG Drew!
Great race by Hunter and others, as well. Wonderful to see him tough it out and win this race.
Congrats Drew!! It was a long time coming. #TME ⚒💜
Good for him and Sam Parsoni
Excellent race!
YES! It’s about time
Horizon boys KILLED IT 🔥 S/O to everyone who is sleeping on them
is his Mom still coaching the entire team?
Seriously this is amateur.
That Drew is DA BOMB!!!!
I would of definitely passed out after lap 1 if I kept up with them
that gait is Lionel Sanders-esque
What happened to the guy in red?
6 break 4:00... Yes!
So glad!
Awesome Job Sam!!
Can't wait to see him more often now
Just here to comment and receive some backlash….
Should’ve ran like this at the trials. Run fast when it doesn’t matter. Races for pride… props to them though!
Let's go
What is the world record?
3:43
Good job!
Dude Drew is kicking ass
So much so he didn’t make it to the final at USAs
Crazy! Good for him
Y did the dude in the red stop
He was a pacer. His only job is to lead the pack to a specific time through a couple laps.
Horizons track comin up👀👀
Horizon 2 the moon baby
Haha Tinman elite wins!
Against a bunch of no names…
@@baumsquad222 nah he beat two people that are going to worlds so I wouldn’t say they are no names
@@landyncb8751 you mean like Sam Parsons who only represents Germany because he knows he’d never make a US team? Born in America, raised in America…makes sense.
@@baumsquad222 why the hate man?
@@joemathewson4198 so truth is hate?
Back? The dude ran 3:57 in HS 6 years ago. Yes, a PR is nice but he probably should have done this 5 years ago.
HORIZON VS TINMAN ELITE TEAM DEATHMATCH WAS REAL.
If you look on Strava, there are thousands of people who can run under 4:00 m/mile during like a 20-mile run! 😂
amazing! I ran a 431 mile which I thought was good but I guess I'm a turtle compared to these guys. congratulations🎊
I just knew that guy who went out in front was a rabbit..
1:06 could you tell from the way they said it at the beginning of the race lol
(and he did a great job too, he ran exactly what they asked for until he saw no one was following)
They also say it at 1:22, 2:02, 2:13
