- Take a one-mile trip down memory lane and watch 2019 New Balance 5th Avenue Mile women's champion Jenny Simpson relive her thrilling victory - her seventh consecutive and eighth overall!
A win over Purrier so no small feat. She's fast and tenacious. Great job!
I get so emotional watching this. They are both GREAT Runners
If you freeze the video at any point in the last 100m of the race their strides and foot placement are identical. Even at the finish. Almost down to arm position. Jenny is great but this most likely will be the last time she beats Elle as she has now claimed the American records for the 1 and 2 mile since this race. She's lighter, stronger and more fit than she was here. I hope they run it this year.
New Balance has really cornered the female market with Jenny, Elle, Emma and Sydney.
New Balance is STACKED with talented women!!
Great video! To have a runner break down the race is very cool. Thanks.
Jenny is awesome................True toughness.............
I love Jenny ❤ 😍
Roller
New Balance is has great ladies to represent them!
Talent, Beauty AND Grace!
8 times! That must have been thrilling to go neck and neck right down to the line. I've always liked the shorter distance races. Everyone wants the marathon but the mile is exciting!
Great sportsmanship from both ladies after such a close finish!
So Fantastic. Yah Jenny ( and Elle) !
I think Elle will be taking over the torch from Jenny for the next decade. Love Jenny and her smart race tactics!!!
And let me add that you do a great commentary. You should do a podcast featuring vid of races of your own and others.
Purrier went out hard and it appears you simply opted to stay shoulder to shoulder with her rather than attempt any form of catch-up. Interesting and informative commentary...right down to the shoes (never knew there were running shoes specifically for one mile).
Purrier looks exhausted upon crossing the finish line...you look fresh as a daisy and ready for more.
Congrats.
What the heck, no side views at the final stretch?
great job Jenny
Its admirable how dedicated you are to fair competition and to track. Please remember to be kind too.
Jenny escaped with the win on this one. I think Purrier may have been a bit intimidated.
Great race for both of you. What does a running shoe have that makes it good for one mile more than a 5k??
How good was that?!
