This is an insane surprise! I love your style of explaining everything so these types of challenge runs feel like the perfect new type of content for the main channel!
Machop Sacrifice: It must be an awful feeling knowing you're scripted for death but I did this for the greater good Pineco Sacrifice : Everything went just as planned
I really like how you used every little obscure thing to your advantage in this, i didnt even know you could get choice specs without the battle tower in this game. Btw the text at the beginning felt a bit overwhelming but the whole video is great
It switched out because you hit it with a move that a different pokemon was immune to - I’m not sure all of the ways gen 4 switch ai works but if you surf on something and they have a water absorb mon in the back, they can switch to it. Immunities and resistances like this enable the AI switches - some gens the switching-in mon also needs to have a super effective move on the pokemon you have out. Great video! Really clever strats
"I pick Slugma because I think a ligma joke *could* be funny at some point..." I love how this is read totally seriously as if it were a strategic move
That text in the beginning honestly hurt my eyes, and I almost didn't watch the rest. But I'm really glad I did! You had me gut-laugh twice before even the 2nd gym. Can't wait to see more content like this.
@@pikminman13 The point of the text is that people who mouse over the thumbnail in stead of clicking (which plays the video preview without sound), can get an idea about the gist of the video, which increases the likelihood that they'll click it. It's standard youtuber stuff.
@@coolnecromancer195% of people that watch pokemon videos know what a nuzlocke is. you don't need to explain it. people that don't can spend the 3 seconds looking it up. you can already get the gist of the video from the title alone.
@@coolnecromancer1 But yt usually has automatic subtitles enabled anyways while hovering over a video so you dont need the incoming text. And I agree, it was really irritating. But the vid was great
Ooh, this is an interesting nuzlocke challenge. I can only imagine how difficult this challenge is with single stage pokemon. As others may have mentioned, the rapid text on screen for each word you said is a bit painful to look at. In particular, I have Epilepsy, so I had to quickly look away from the screen. As such, may I ask if you could reconsider perhaps toning down the editing at the beginning of these videos if you wish to make more of these challenge videos? Keep on with the great work!
19:03 I feel weird and sad every time I see one Nuzlocker running away from the legendaries instead of catching them, and not using them in the challenge if they manage to catch them. But I appreciate the effort. It reminds me of Hernán Cortés and his strategy of "burning their ships" to compromise with his troops to conquer or die in the attempt. 19:28 Noooooo, you monster :'( NOW I'm sad, Totodile is my favorite starter of all time...well, rest easy, soldier... I just finished the video, congratulations on beating the remake of the first generation of Pokémon that I played during my life. It seems pretty risky to sacrifice a lot of Pokémon in the final battle but at least I'm glad you made it.
Oh hey, I’m a Misdreavus! That’s my favorite Ghost-type line, lucky me! Thanks for the video Freezai, love the new content! Excited to see what you do next!
Fear Rattata, Swords dance gligar, dude they didnt realize they were coming in for a Slaughter. For real though, this is the most efficient and incredibly well thought out Nuzlocke I have ever seen. Every single battle looks to be strategized, you didnt wing anything. I love that.
Yo buddy I saw you changed title and thumbnail. Guess you were worried because the video initially underperformed. But don't worry, it is NOT the title or thumbnail. Actually, the first ones were better than the current one IMO. It is just that this kind of content is much different than the type of content that got you most of your subscribers. This new format will naturally need some time before it can get traction. You are fine, don't worry:)
This was really cool! I wouldn't give up competition analysis content for this (I think that's what really makes your channel shine), but some of this, well explained and thought out challenge run overviews, are really cool too.
Really nice change of pace form the usual videos. Really excited for future videos like this and I can’t wait for your Emerald Hardcore Nuzlocke as well!!!
I realy like your take on Nuzlockes with the strategie in how to get specific Pokemon. I would also like to ask if you did the videos on Heart Gold Nuzlockes before during or after you made the video.
Bruh you made a great run but damn that hit to my man Maganium… I love that line even if it’s bad it just needs a fairy type desperately and you know it 😭😭😭😭😂
I enjoyed the change of content, if this is what you want to do I am all for it and look forward to the next video! I like most of your content anyways, so keep it up!
Love your videos; your explanations of battle mechanics/choices are always incredibly thorough, easy to follow, but very efficient (As in, you don't meander with your words or add too much fluff). It's the perfect balance and it's the perfect thing to watch while I'm drawing. Thanks for making such awesome content!
poor ho-oh, never gonna recover from being ignored in favor of baby pokemon lmao. great video, not something i expected out of you but a welcome surprise!
Great video. Your competitive history videos are super interesting but they can get a bit repetitive, I think this kind of nuzlocke runs are an awesome addition to the cannel.
Great video! After all these years and playing hg ss multiple times i never knew about the eggs in violet city! Maybe you can continue this run trough kanto and vs red, i realy enjoyed the vid!
I loved this video! I’d love to see more like it in the future, your way of explaining things really makes this a great nuzlocke video. I once swept Whitney using only Geodude by Rock Polishing and Defense Curling on Clefairy and then Rolling Out for the win. I understand yours is probably more consistent though because Clefaury could have Metronomed Water Pulse or something
Nice video and glad to see you branching out with content. The intro was a bit too jumpy imo. I think your deadpan style of humor works great for this style of video
I was doing a nuzlocke of hgss and I got a geodude specifically to blow up on Whitney’s miltank and it stomp flinched me all the way down to I didn’t get to explode💀
You take that back, Meganium is amazing (in game). Give it a defensive or So defensive nature; teach it Synthesis, Poison Powder/Toxic, Reflect, and Magical Leaf. Beat Whitney no problem and served as a Tank to heal the rest of my team during some rough battles. Meganium is amazing.
Tank to heal team is only good if you play with potions. That being said Meganium can be useful as a screens setter or even a swords dance sweeper with recovery in synthesis. The AI can’t use it at all though, making it the easiest to deal with
hey i absolutely love your content especially how you're really diversifying these days. But maybe the layout could be a bit better? Like the attempts and death counter.
I can’t believe people still don’t realize that Johto gym trainers featured that old pokemon can learn new moves- mud slap, fury cutter, shadow ball, dynamic punch… I got it right away when I was a kid.
Liked the video! Although some of the text at the start was illegible one word at a time and had a very distracting transition. Okay when it was small, but awkward to read when it was large. You may also want to consider dot points for rules (getting a lot of info across quickly - like that chart you use for tier explanations).
"if I catch Rattata before route 26" which apparently scared RUclips so bad. It turned into 144p for literally no reason and made the encounter rates unreadable 😂. For real though, the research that he has done already blows my mind
The poliwrath probably switched in because ai saw that you used a water type move the previous turn, and then saw that there was a pokemon in the back that had an immunity ability for water, that being poliwrath's water absorb. It's an interesting ai mechanic that is present in every pokemon game since at least gen 3, and I even designed a portion of a boss fight around it in the rom hack I'm making.
Sees the rainbow pheonix turkey
"It doesnt look like its worth my time"
Absolute legend
I love how in the intro it shows the iconic “WHAT DID I SAY” Alpharad play at 0:21
It's spreading. Soon, Brayden will become all Nuzlocke content. I welcome this day.
"...but I thought sturdy would activate"

Freezai becoming one of the Pokémon community 🐐s and I'm here for it!

A highly edited nuzlocke video from Freezai? Unexpected, but really well done! Loved the video… but those text transitions in the beginning. Hot damn.

Imagine being Lance and having your team annihilated by a Staryu. I'd probably quit training Pokémon.
I really like the new editing style, and the nuzlocke, though the text at the beginning was a little jarring, so a little less movement would be nice
yeah maybe full sentences with that transition would be easier on the eyes. I like the idea though
I've never seen Pokemon runs be played competitively until now😂😂😂💯
