Lemmy and Phil were great friends, there's actually a video of Lemmy saying he missed Phil the most out of the musicians he knew who'd passed away. RIP to both legends.
😂😂😂. Lemmy said on an interview decades ago, he never fit in well... "Special guest artiste", may have taken it a little far, but I get it... Robo was good material, just not Motorhead material... Another Perfect Day was a heck of an album, tho'.
Enjoyed the cover. Strange that the Lizzy original sounds harder than this, wasn't expecting that when I click clicked. The rock basis of this protometal tune are brought out.
All the comments...like who gives a fk....its lemmy doing a cover of his mates song... Phils songs need to be heard and why not it be motorhead to do it...fits in my eyes .liked it...now we got nothing and that sucks Evan more
@stefmathaxl One time, Motorhead played The Czech Republic, and Mikkey D got wasted on cheap Czech vodka. He went to his hotel room and passed out naked on the floor. He woke up to the sound of a woman screaming in horror! He then realized, "This is not my room! "And took off running! STILL NAKED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently, Phil Lynott and Lemmy were good buddies way back... Lemmy had always said he identified way more with Thin Lizzy and the resulting early punk-rock scene than with Sabbath/Priest, etc. ... like a different world to him... I saw Motorhead several times in NYC, and he would cover Thin Lizzy songs well after the 2000's. Cowboy song at Roseland was especially un-slaughtered. His style was different than Thin Lizzy, obviously, but it's hard to compare apples and oranges, just had a different style.
Philo nd lem were great buddies.,fun story my uncle is a die hard lizzy fan brought to me to me 1st gig in 2003 lizzy in Dublin scot Gorham and John sykes were playing. He was telling me that night as I loved drums and Brian downeys playing that he would bring me to see motorhead to see mikkey dee play drums. Long story short downy was mikkeys favourite drummer growing up so were all outside the apollo in Manchester after a motorhead gig in April 2014 mikkey lem and Phil come out lem was very ill at the time just said hello and signed our stuff from his bus. Mikkey was getting photos and I couldn't get near him. Some guy shouts mikkey your the best drummer in the world and I said he is after Brian Downey 😂 no bulkshit he turned and goes are u irish I said yep he says come here u big irish cunt give me a hug. What a moment a memory I fondly treasure and the pic is right over my fireplace 😂
As a fan of Motorhead and of course Lemmy , I have to say that the thought was nice , but Lem doesn't get anywhere near doing Phil's vocal & lyric justice. I can see them in the Great Backstage Bar in The Sky , with Phil going "bring yer drink over here Lemmy...now , what the FECK were you doin' to my song?"
Oh Dear they rarely dropped the ball, but this is an embarrassment. Tell u something Fast Eddie and Phil would have refused to play it, and that my friends is the fucking difference.
I have to agree with you. Im a Motorhead fan for 4 decades but they made an absolutely pigs ear of that classic. I have said it time and time again the one band that does covers better than the O.G is Metallica.
@@kimlarsson7259 Absolutely Phils voice was velvet, Lemmy was ruff and tuff..........It just did not work and I agreed with you it was a cringe Motorhead moment .........
Motorhead were a great band, but they were the worst cover band ever. Their original material is amazing, but they always sound bored and uninspired when they did cover songs....so why did they bother?
Lemmy and Phil were great friends, there's actually a video of Lemmy saying he missed Phil the most out of the musicians he knew who'd passed away.
RIP to both legends.
Both were also Bass players
The best appreciate and respect each others.
Lemmy and Phil will forever remains in Rock'n'roll history
When I watched them cover Rosalie, Lemmy said
"This is for my friend, Phil Lynott, and he was YOUR friend too, don't forget that!"
Pretty sure Lemmy was at Phil’s wedding- have seen pics somewhere online. They were definitely good mates
God bless Brian Roberstson? One of the best albums Motorhead ever made and a guitar player millions of people rightly idolise.
When Lemmy plays your song it is an unbelievable honor.
I liked it..
I'm a great Motör/Lizzy fan here
Lemmy remembered Phil..that's all it matters
Recommend you watch Motörhead playing The song Motörhead in 85 Robbo and Phil are on stage both playing with the rest of the former Motörhead members
Great that the god himself honors Lizzy.
A god honours a god it’s beautiful and let’s not forget that Brian Robertson played in both of these bands
Brian Robertson was IN Motörhead for a while and Lemmy called him Brian Robinson.
Probably on purpose!!!😂😂
I think Lemmy said that Robo didn't fit the part at the time he was wearing flip-plops !
😂😂😂. Lemmy said on an interview decades ago, he never fit in well... "Special guest artiste", may have taken it a little far, but I get it... Robo was good material, just not Motorhead material...

😂👍
Lem always thought Robbo was a bit of a poofter so I`m surprised he didn`t call him TOM Robinson 😆

hommage merci lemmy!!!!

I love it~ wonder how many more Thin Lizzy songs Motorhead covered...
They played Rosalie live from time to time
@@elflakeador09 By Bob Seger. 👍
@@tonibergqvist872 But made better by Lizzy
What are u hearing that I am not?. I am a life long Motorhead fan but this is fucking shit.
@@tonibergqvist872it’s the lizzy version of that Seager song
От Души!!!
Yep LIZZY tune got motorised 🤘🤘
It was fucking terrible cover worst I have heard.
They should’ve recorded a studio version of this, if they didn’t.
Having left The Muppets, Animal was alive and well and playing with my favourite band bar none...
You mean Philty ?! Cause Dee was just a basic metal drummer so not an animal at all…

Lemmy was right though ,Robertson on occasion dressed like a ballet dancer ,great player in his day ,no doubts there for sure .
Ballet dancer? I never thought of him like that, but you're right. That's exactly what he looked like! 😂
Yeah! In fact "Too Late Too Late", sounds pretty similar to this one
"...and even God help him Brian RobINson" 😁😆😅
That was pretty damn funny lol
Henery Rollins also does a good version of this song
That sounds interesting I'll look it up.
When I saw them they did a cover of Rosalie 🎸🎸
@Keith Alfred Anthony Donovan Seger
Fuck yeah Lemmy!
They Murdered This Song 🙄 Philo and Lizzy Do It Best
Dummy

It's an awful recording.
As a massive Lizzy fan i think this pretty good. Vocals are a bit low but hey, its Motorhead.

love motorhead forever but lemmy should've got robbo in

Ha yeah, just about!
Motorhead were not ready on this occasion it seems haha
it seems that Phil is using a wig
It’s not pronounced Phil Linnot, it is Lie-not. How would a “friend” not know that?
I like Motorhead but compared to Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham Phil Campbell is a horribly clumsy and expressionless guitarist.
Not bad, but certainly not great!
With a good drummer the track could be very good !!
Lizzy was a GREAT band Motorhead not so much! They were loud
Oh Dear they rarely dropped the ball, but this is an embarrassment. Tell u something Fast Eddie and Phil would have refused to play it, and that my friends is the fucking difference.
Philthy LOVED Thin Lizzy!
good but not lizzy
poor Lizzie these guys are murdering this song
Kick ass cover... Lemmie can rip the bass.. But he can't handle the lyrics Phil Lynot wrote and sang. RIP to both.
Fuck you...Great version, Motorhead and Thin Lizzy are similar savages r'n'r bands
Ohhh noooo!!!! Stop. Horrible.
What a joke! 🙄
That was pretty horrendous.

@@scotty193 Lynnot is a tricky one. His vocals are much more complicated than they seen. Lemmy didn't have that sense of rythm and swagger.
