    Great video, just found your channel. I have a '77 Whaler Newport 17. Just finished up some woodwork and can't wait to retire and move to Bonita Springs. Looking forward to to the adventures in Florida with my Whaler. Thanks again.

    Just found your videos, love them. I have a '77 Montauk and I am convinced the classic Montauk may be the most versatile boat ever made. I have a 75 Etec on mine and it uses basically no fuel. I have the 24 gallon Moeller fuel tank and my range is insane. If I cruise at around 3500 rpm, about 22-23 mph, I get around 6 mpg. WOT still gets about 5 mpg.
    You are absolutely correct in that you don't need a big boat to have a nice day on the water. Keep up the videos.

      Thanks! Everything you said is spot-on. The Etec is the perfect engine for the Classic Montauk. Too bad they stopped making them.

    I'd really like to see a proper set up where these Montauks could safely do 60 MPH.

    was there yesterday evening. i liked it.
    edited to say: some of the younger people were rude. no common boat courtesy with the younger crowd.

      @@LazyLocations making it there was the easy part, I go out early anywhere I go. It was trying to swim while anchored and then getting back home LOL. Any other good spots around here for a mother and daughter to explore?

    How much range do you have on that boat?

    • @LazyLocations
      @LazyLocations  3 года назад +1

      About 75 miles (est) with the two 6 gallon tanks I have in it currently. I’m going to replace them with one big, 26 gallon tank though. That will give me tons of range.

    The closest ramp to Ponce inlet is not near the airport. Ponce Inlet has its own ramp.

      Thanks for the heads-up. I was thinking that was the closest on the mainland.
