Thank You Roland! You've always been the "Man"! Ever since I was a kid. I AM 54 now. You're still the "Man"! Thank You Brother! Love & Peace to You, & All of Yours! Now let's get to 🎣! 💪💜✌
I’ve been watching you from when I was a kid you make watching fishing so much fun it’s almost like being there with you. You still look so young and living proof just because you have to grow up doesn’t mean you have to grow old. Keep reelin in the big ones son! God Bless
Me and dad have watched you since I was a kid. Dad's 76 and his best was a 7.13 large mouth and a 6.5 smallmouth would love to bring him down and fish with you
Roland I am one year older than U. If not for Vertigo I would book U. But started guide business when I was 67;did it for 5 years in Lafitte Louisiana. If U ever come to Lafitte U got a free trip bed and food. Only charge U need to tell me and my family about your fishing trips. U are the best need to write a book my fishing experiences.they are so Entertaining
They make us use circle hooks for stripers here in Maine. I lost so many fish trying to get used to using them because of the muscle memory formed from years of jerking the rod to set the hook. Now that I have learned to use circle hooks they are not so bad.
Mr. Martin, I will see you in October. Unfortunately, I doubt we will beat my personal best of 10.8 lbs, but I did catch it with live bait on a circle hook. Can’t wait to meet and fish with you this coming fall.
Hey Roland great video as usual. How about a tutorial on catching the wild shiners. We ahve golden shiners where I fish, but I haven't been able to catch any.
In this video, Roland is using the “Favorite” brand of reels, as he was selected to be a spokesman for the brand. Favorite fishing USA was founded by Winston Tucker back in 2015. They use products sourced from outdoor manufacturers around the world, namely Daewon of S.Korea who manufactures many of the worlds fishing brands now. ABU, Johnny Morris, Penn, Lews, Zebco and many others are now manufactured by Daewon.
I have a question about catching live shiners. I’m guessing that you catch them the same day . My question is how long does it normally take you to catch enough before you start fishing?
@@jamesstewart9163 thank you, I guess what is confusing is that on the bait caster setup he is using straight braid, so was just wondering why not on the spinning reel setup? I can tie a leader if I have too just not confident in my knot. Was wanting to try the set up with my spinning reel because I have 20lb braid already on it, was just trying not to have to tie a leader.
@@wesleybigham1 I use a similar setup on my spinning reels when I hit Lake Champlain of the 1000 Islands only I run 10 pound braid to 8 pound leader. I also don't understand why no leader on the baitcaster, I use a 20lb fluorocarbon leader on my baitcasters if I'm throwing in clear water only, other than that it's straight line and no leader.
@@jamesstewart9163 thanks man, yeah I just didn’t understand why no leader on the bait caster and a leader on the spinning reel setup. I guess I’m just gonna tie a leader to the spinning reel setup and give it a try. Thanks for your help
Hope all is well Roland, watched you for decades. I have a lot of respect for you, but you have to agree the laws are becoming a money grab for companies. It's a joke now.
I woukdnt ve saying tgat Too Loud. Once they find out how much money your saving their going to pass a law that you either have to have a permit to catch them amd its going to cost a few humdred $ a year or make it illegal to catch or use shiners.lmfao. Thats what i i would gues.lolol so dont say that to loud and how avkut just keep that kind of info to yourself .
I'm the guy that didn't get his PB, and I confer it was my best fishing day ever, 40 quality bass!! Thank you Roland!

What do you do to keep your shiners alive in your livewell?
Circle hooks for live bait ?
Or do you need to eliminate treble hooks from lures?
What is the name brand on the reel you have on this rig? How is it spelled

I see the knife 🔪 is fixed from the crazy glue. That couldn’t happen in a 20 years lol 👩🚒great videos SIR

Pandemonium, ice fishing with live bait 5-6 lines can be mind blowing action with shiners.
Will this work in Texas?
The ice in Illinois really needs to melt. I'm trying to rip some lips!
I don’t understand the reason for the leader on the spinning rod setup. Can you do that setup on the spinning rod without the leader?
You could go with straight flouro but the braid allows more line on the reel and is more sensitive and the flouro is harder for the fish to see.

Hay son you think you can do about 15 to 20 videos on night crawler fishing next
Can you use a mosquito hook too? Or khale?
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Let’s see how to find the shiners you net
You have to fish like a little girl with circle hooks. Not the old school way as we were tought. Now it'save the fish.
What's the price tag on going on a fishing trip with a legend for a guide
Starts at 800.00 I believe.
24$ a dozen? Holy smokes.
He seen them on live scope before he casted lol

I thought he was gonna cut that 65lb braid with his teeth and tell another story bout his dentist being so wrong
Roland is telling whoppers in his life in his late age that's a 3 pound fish
they still making rules after roland lol just kidding
