@@elonmust7470 when did I say that being active and eating well isn't a part of it ? What a simplistic viewpoint though. Plenty of people are active ( or try) and eat well, and don't have the clarity of thought, the lucidity; and look how limber the guy is. Full head of hair; he jumps up onto his boat, he squats down with no problem to land a fish, etc....genetics are without a doubt the huge part, not the fact that he eats his spinach.
you cant watch this dude and not laugh , period . he can make your day . such an awesome guy . giving knowledge and comedy , complete beast hope to be more like you . well done
It's a blessing to have you as an asset to our sport. You continue to teach us techniques that are simple & really brings us together through genuine fun. I caught my 2nd biggest bass which was over 6lbs on a bobber with nightcrawlers. Nothing fancy, just bank fishing like alot of us but having a great time!!!
Roland you’re always coming up with something new and great as long as you’ve been Fishing you always figure out something else new keep up the great work you’re the best no doubt
A buddy of mine once caught a 6 lb bass on cut shad while we were catfishing. I also know a guy who caught a 5 pounder on chicken liver. Bass definitely can smell. Love all the videos Roland. 👍
There was a guy at our local 10 acre pond that got a 8lb bass on hotdogs. Took it home to show his brother and he is a p.o.s for that and I let him know
By revolutionary he means the way our forefathers did it a couple hundred years ago. And that we lost along the way. Thanks for bringing it back Mr Martin.
👍 Like shark fishing with hot rocks. Islanders heat up cobble stones, chum the water to gather the sharks into a frenzy and then toss in the hot rocks and the sharks swallow the rocks and it kills them then they just snag the sharks and drag'em in.
Your a funny and amazing fisherman. I liked those dead shinners, can we use them in BFL tournaments. I’m co angler next year in music city region in Tn lol
Mr Roland head waters looks great as always, how about the other lakes around Florida are you guy's experiencing any drought conditions? Also how should one fish lakes in drought conditions?
Saw a couple of fellas catch a few decent bass at Farm 13 while using finger mullet chunks for catfish. An elderly gentleman in my neighborhood told me, for food, they would use cut.bait at Florida river’s flood locks and would catch everything that swims.
CMA festival every year there is a fishing tournament in Hendersonville...it's usually all the greats that are still here. Met Roland Martin and jimmy Houston there one year...
A few years back i got a 5lb bass on a chunk of mackerel when catfishing with my daughter. I think I was more excited on how I caught it then the actual bass😅
My daughter caught a bass on chicken liver. I asked a more knowledgeable angler then myself if he had ever heard of such a thing. He responded with she most have brought the bait thru a school of bass when she was checking her bait. He then said that if a school gets fired up you can catch them on a hook with just a piece of your shirt tail. I don’t know how much of the shirt tail deal will work, but do know when they’re fired up they’ll hit pretty much anything.
Here in South Africa one day i put the guts of a catfish on a bass rod to fool around hoping to catch a big catfish just to see what will happen and i caught a 3.4kg bass...They bite on anything if they are fired up as you say, Roland. They always surprise us.
Absolutely amazing fishing style!
82 years old, and still killing it. This guy is a genetic marvel.
Don't act like being active & eating well isn't a huge part of it.
What??? no way

Absolutely, all 3 legends are still killing it.
I would add in really enjoying what you do in life and for a living.

Hugh Crumpler shiner technique from back in the Stick Marsh glory days. Dead shiner free lined. Keep on em Roland.
Awesome video! Learning so much from you. I apply your info when fishing for bass at Leech Lake.
Love that you give us new ways to fish, even children can do it. And we need to get them more into fishing.
Much respect and joy watching your channel Roland!
Exactly!
You ARE and have always been the revolutionary angler! Congratulations on the new technique discovered in Florida!#RippinLipsInc

@@dankjankings7339 maybe he ate it. Bass is a type of perch i think and some people eat it.
@@johnwesley6929 The largemouth bass is a member of the sunfish family.
Thank you for such an informative demonstration today. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Roland YOU are revolutionary. Truth is you could catch ‘em with a pop can.
Awesome job!
A pop can top . remember those and put a swivel and a small treble
In south Ms. I use a small live blue gill or other pan fish about 4' under a big bobber . My PB is 7 lbs 11 oz ...
great job roland

Excellent segment!

Your a funny and amazing fisherman. I liked those dead shinners, can we use them in BFL tournaments. I’m co angler next year in music city region in Tn lol
Mr. Martin. Get to Lake Mille Lacs in Minnesota for MONSTER smallies!!
Your the man !! Love it. They will eat dead shiner’s
Pretty awesome, new way to catch'em :)
Priceless. Roland. Will they still hit other bait or are these fish that won’t hit something else?
I've caught a few good size bass on dead bluegill while fishing for catfish. I've also caught one on chicken liver and three on carp dough bait.
Mr Roland head waters looks great as always, how about the other lakes around Florida are you guy's experiencing any drought conditions? Also how should one fish lakes in drought conditions?
Great information, thank you sir. A true great American fisherman
Roland was more excited than the fish 😁😁😁
Some years ago a fishing magazine published in the northwest wrote about using a perch skin with a bit of meat left to catch bass
Saw a couple of fellas catch a few decent bass at Farm 13 while using finger mullet chunks for catfish. An elderly gentleman in my neighborhood told me, for food, they would use cut.bait at Florida river’s flood locks and would catch everything that swims.
Excellent!
Sup roland. We love you man! Oh and first by the way. 4:58 crow was wtf was that? Yall see that shhhhh.
Now imagine a derby between the classics, martin,Nixon, dance oh man all my favorites still doing it till this day...that would be amazing
CMA festival every year there is a fishing tournament in Hendersonville...it's usually all the greats that are still here. Met Roland Martin and jimmy Houston there one year...
I LOVE IT !!!! ❤
Fantastic way to save money on the water! Who is filming today?
Incredible on dead shiner
"Something about bass I didn't realize" BIG coming from Roland.
A few years back i got a 5lb bass on a chunk of mackerel when catfishing with my daughter. I think I was more excited on how I caught it then the actual bass😅
What style/size hook are you using here?
Nice! I've never used live bait for bass fishing...might have to give it a try.
youre kidding....not even shiners?
It's too easy, makes for boring fishing.
That was awesome. Who would of thunk it?
Nice

Sorry Roland Martin
I got some nice size bass on some frozen shad

Those birds are more Hungary then the bass are. They love shiners too 🤣

I tried small live bluegill on a dropshot and have had some ridiculous luck.
So can we " Chum" the water for bass then?
the. freakin. goat.
Gaurantee Ol Roland xan figger it out f anyone can!!😊👍
My dad and I used to catch pickerel by lip hooking a shiner and fishing it like a crankbait.
None of y’all gonna talk about how that bird just took the opportunity to steal old man’s bait while he was busy reeling in a bass?
I didn't see how he got the bass fired up
Roland also fired up the birds.
Roland quit trolling us man. We get it.
Captain America!
When Roland teaches you just listen
You're chumming the water basically
Second!
60 years ago, start running low on bait? cut the minnows in half!
Your my hero bro stay young
Just squeeze the pour thing Roland lol
