- At 84 years old, Waynnie is a man who has spent decades amassing an extensive collection of various items. Whether it's classic cars, vintage tractors, or unique farm artifacts, he cherishes the world he has meticulously built around himself. After the first video that I uploaded reached 1 million views in just 20 days, I realized I had to continue documenting his simple but fascinating life. People love his soft-spoken, easy-going lifestyle, living the Simple Life in North Carolina. He has been flat-foot dancing for 60 years and says he is still trying to learn how. He has lived on the same farm for 83 years and has owned the same 1955 Chevy Bel-Air that his dad bought new since 1957. 68 years later, he still takes the Bel-Air out for a drive a few times a year. Waynnie is one of a kind, and I look forward to documenting his journey and adventures for many years to come.

The yellowing will come right up with the right cleaner but please never a brush one little stone in that brush u just destroyed the paint to now having to buff buff buff get power buffer and a power washer
“I could have used a pressure washer, which is the fastest way to clean, but I chose to wash the car by hand to avoid damaging it. The car has been sitting for 35 years, and I wanted to be more careful and avoid blowing out the old rubber seals or damaging the paint.”I guess you didn't watch the video where I talk about owning a used car lot and cleaning thousands of cars. The brushes were washed and the car was rinsed completely with only water, then wiped off by hand while checking for grit. Thanks for the comment.
Wayne looks like he's enjoying getting the car out! He's working like he's 30! It's sad that the car can be restored and give service & make smiles for another 50 year. My first Car was a 1970 Chevy Impala. It was a good car. I paid $500.00 for it in 1977. I upgraded to a Brand New 1979 Z-28 Camaro . I still have the Camaro .
Mine was a 66 SS Impala, 66 fastback mustang and now I have a 69 stingray vette. Can't beat the oldies!
I paid $900 for my first car, a 1971 chevele green with a black top
I bought a 1970 impala for 120 dollars. I had to cut the inner race of the driver side. Emory cloth with the spindle, new bearings, a new seal, junkyard rotor, new brakes and I was rolling
Mine was a 1964 Impala OG 283 with a Power Glide. When I was 15 I had saved up $857 dollars and a friend told me he saw a Red 64 Impala in the ally of three hundred block of 17th Ave in Longview Washington. My grandpa and I went to go look at it. We couldn't find it where my friend said so we kept searching up and down every ally from the two hundred block all the way to the 500 block. Found a Blue 64 guy didn't really want to sell it but I would take no for an answer or he saw how Bad I Really wanted it so he says well the lowest I would let it go for is a Grand... Like I said earlier I had $857.00 that I had saved up... He said sorry man. I can't go lower than a Grand!!! I was Super Bummed! Seeing this my Beloved Ol Paw Said I'll pay the difference if you can take a check! The Deal was Done and This Story goes along with Sooo Many Wonderful Memories of My Amazing Perfect Amazing Grandfather!!! I Miss You Sooo Much Paw! Thank You For Making My Dreams Come True. Mine was a 67 Bel Air 4dr sedan. I replaced with a 70 Impala Custom Coupe. Loved these cars!! Very dependable cars.
I love this kind of content. It is very satisfying to watch an old car being brought into the sunlight for the first time in decades, watching it being cleaned and maintained so it can live another 50 years!

I have been in the auto body and paint business for 30 yrs, unless you are gonna completely restore that car, wash it with simple green and leave it alone.
Simple green is good stuff
Does that green dye in Simple Green stay on the vehicle or is it pretty much negligible.

Guys that’s a very cool old convertible impala just simply use some comet and a soft sponge that old paint will clean up like new
It's a good thing your doing for Wayne giving him some projects to do getting him going that does alot for his health and spirt and yours too. You need to get Derek Bieri of Vice Grip Garage to come up there and you and him help ole Wayne get all that stuff going he can also tell you exactly what is need for the paint and it would help your channel grow too. He would protect the wearabouts of Wayne place also

Use Ajax or soft scrub to whiten the paint without scratching it. Just be careful not to get it on the black top.

After the dirt is well washed off . I would get some liquid turtle wax . Then I would get some armor all and soak the top down real good and let it soak in real good. Good luck to you guys. What your attempting to do is a Major undertaking.

I like Mr. Waynnie's Farmall Cubs. In the 1950s, Grandpa and all his neighbors in the Rosebud community near Walnut Cove had one that they raised tobacco with. That old Impala would look great restored.
Have you thought about using a low pressure pressure washer it would help a whole lot but you don't need a lot of pressure but better than that water hose just a thought

Gary, you’re right. I would have spent a few dollars and hired someone with a pressure washer trailer to come out. Using old brush may have done more harm than good.
I’m curious if they opened the top of the tank to allow higher flow out the hose maybe?

Wash the car with Comet, that will bring the color back. The paint appears too thin to wetsand and not go to bare metal. A company called Sweet Patina has some great products to then protect the paint. Good luck, nice car.

Just a little suggestion, never use dish washing detergent on auto paint. Good auto washing liquid will remove the dirt. to remove the discoloration, rubbing and polishing compound will reserve the paint's integrity.
then finish off with a good sealer and wax. reserve the paint the most you can short of painting.
Dish soap will degrade the paint more than letting it go.
just a little I have learned through the years from auto painting.
Dont dishwashing liquid is the mildest detergent you can find they wash all of animals with it. I’ve been using it for about 50 years never seen it deteriorate paint.
Yeah, my aunt my aunt let them Ellicott city Maryland off route 99 he in a lot of Atlanta there her husband had John Deere tractors to the biggest one you can possibly probably get passed on 55 Chevrolet cars trucks all kinds of cars imaginable down in the woods, she was soft $500 apiece. I told her she got a lot more money than $500 apiecein the garage she was selling for $500. It looked brand new guy with son cars for her got over on her. That was crazy man.
I love your cars, Waynie. I use citric acid to get a deep clean. Also, you need a good power washer with hot water.

I would use a fine compound to clean paint finish. We don’t know what paint was used. It may be acrylic lacquer.
I would not recommend sandpaper not even ultrafine make love to it with fine rubbing compound and glaze/wax Dupont number seven and kit paste wax was always my go to

My husband and his cousin would always use Tide in the pump sprayer just like the one you use. Also we recently purchased an older camper and I washed it w Awesome degrease that I purchased from the Dollar General or Dollar Tree.

Scotch bright pads are too harsh

I am a professional painter and I would NOT sand on that paint. It’s best to try and bleach it and if that doesn’t work I’d leave it. It’s not worth removing the protection the paints creating. Look great guys!!

Use some cleanser like Comet (or Ajax comparable )to it straight with a soft brush to get that white paint clean.

Use Mothers Light Cut Rubbing Compound and Buff The sucker out with some good Mother's Wax Bro ...She will shine like new done it several times. I'm redoing a 1987 Happy Time Chevrolet conversion van right not in the process of painting it done when thru the engine new timing chain, new gasket's from the heads up new water pump ect. ...

As a kid I owned a 1967 Impala SS, yellow with black vinyl top and black vinyl interior. It had a 327 probably 275 or 300 hp, prior owner had installed a Turbo 400 trans. I hated the sloped back and taillights. Ugliest car I've ever owned. Spun out and wrapped it around a telephone pole, a slotted mag wheel had broken out. My next car was a 1966 Chevelle SS with the 396, previously painted a Beetle Bug burnt orange color..
I suggest a buffing compound instead of wet sanding.
Turtle Wax Max Cleaner / wash good, follow the directions on the jug and I think it will help you a lot!😊
Use a clay bar on car

1500 wet/dry sandpaper would help out the paint a lot 😮😢😂🎉
They make a clay bar that you can use with a degreaser to clean the trash out of the paint.
Clay bar might get the yellow off

Spray Nine is the best cleaner. Way better than Purple Power or Simple Green. Home Depot has it.
