Perhaps you should rename the third segment of the show to “the messy” or something along those lines. I understand wanting to use the catchy title, but if you’re having to explain every week that “ugly” means ambiguous instead of bad, it might be better to bite the bullet and go with a less iconic but more clear title. Loving the show, this is my main source of NPB news.
Hello me yakyu, I saw this documentary over the summer regarding high school pitching and pitch counts. It heavily featured the kyoshin tournament around the early 2010s, I’m pretty sure the pitcher it featured was tomohiro anraku, I’m not sure about this. If u know this documentary can u let me know the name of it? I found it very intriguing and provocative but can’t seem to find it for the life of me
The best team in all of the NPB only has an OPS of .701. Please juice the baseballs already!!! A 701 would be tied for 24th out of the 30 MLB teams last year...
I think that while imanaga is having a great start, MLB hitters will eventually figure him out throught the season. His fastball does have high ivb which kinda makes the 92mph play up, but still not quite good enough to play for a full season imo. Once hitters start being able to make a little more contact, he'll be giving up a lot of HRs.
Imanaga is definitely proof that you can still succeed in MLB without high velo if you have good shape/IVB on the fastball. He’s due for regression but he has excellent command and he’s showing his ceiling right now. Miyagi has gotten great results at the international level and so far in NPB this season he’s top 5 in Whiff% and Chase% and he’s #1 among qualifiers in K%. His velo is ticking up like I mentioned in the video and I’ve always thought of him as a guy with some of the best breaking balls in the league. So perhaps I think Miyagi would succeed in MLB, especially if he can show an ability to stay 93-95 consistently.

Honestly I don't mind what we're seeing. I don't know much about baseball on a more technical level, but this baseball isn't boring me or anything
Question: With the success Imanaga is having in MLB, do you think if Miyagi go there he can be as successful as Imanaga?

Why is the box score blurred out in the bottom Right screen during the game clips?
