Thank you for watching!
Timpano did it again: best drum head comparison on the Internet!
RSP-2 for me ,the clear one ,I just got one a minute ago from Amazon ,$ 48.05 CND .free shipping .Great deal.Take care and be good.
No one is better than timpano
Aquarian should be paying them for this, why can head companies produce videos like this for their products? They also never answer email or facebook messages, useless!!
Absolutely!
if only they didn't berry bury the beater
Man... I never even gave Aquarian a second look, but that Super Kick II is incredible!
i;ve been using Super kick 2's for several years now. never gave me a headache abt how my kick drum sounds, easy to tune and sounds great from the get go
And they're cheaper than Evans
Super kick II has been my bass drum head for 10yrs
I've been using 24" SuperKick IIs for a long time, and recently switched to SuperKick 10s with Danmar wood beater red and it's just an unbelievable great balance between punch and click. Aquarians are the best. Great video!
I use the same combo too and it is great! If you want even more attack I would recommend adding the metal kick plate that danmar makes.
True. I've ended up switching back to Super Kick 2s and I have removed the disk from stock danmar pads, installed those disks on the heads and covered them with the Aquarian kick pad - the microphones love it with the plastic beater side, I did this on my latest DT cover.
I put a Force 1 coated on both sides of my 20" BD. Sounds 👌
This was the best and most informative video on the internet for showing the differences between heads thank you so much!!! I just broke my superkick 1 and wasn’t sure what to replace it with. Now I know thanks to you.
Holy hell the Force is so nice 👌
And I use Super Kick 2
Legend
Ben waiting for this for a long time!
Thank you so much! Been waiting a while for this one!
Modern Vintage Super Kick I wins by a mile. It has punchy attack and a nice controlled sub frequency tail. That kick is recording ready.
Thnx
Excellent! I've been using the Super Kick II's for about 20 years. Always wanted to hear the rest of the line. I've never heard a better sounding kick drum head than what Aquarian makes.
Force 1 clear was the one i liked the most
i like your ear .... same here. ;)
Good ear! It's like Remo Powerstroke 3's or Evans EQ4's sibling.
Me tooo!
1. SuperKick ll Clear
2. SuperKick 10 Clear
3. Impact ll Clear
These are my top 3 choice.
Same here 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I actually prefer the wide open sounds of the Classic Clear, Texture Coated, Modern Vintage Medium, and the Response Two heads. I always approach my drum sound from this simple premise. I can always make a live drum more dead..but I can't make a dead drum more lively. I am old school and still use good old felt strips and the heads I mentioned would work perfectly with that method.
I was also a big fan of the Force I Coated head.
Yea force 1
Agree 100% with you on everything
I vary my head choice based on the environment. When recording metal in a nicely dampened room, the Super Kick 2 or 10 are great under close mics with wood beaters. Recording blues in the choir room? Throw a Modern Vintage or Jack D head on there and tune it up so it sings! But most of the time I stick with the clear Super Kick 1- it's more versatile than one might think. You can still tune it up and get more tone out of it. Not as much as an unmuffled head, obviously, but a lot more than a Super Kick 2 tuned just above wrinkle. I also use the sandbag trick on all of my kicks- one of the many great hacks they have on Sounds Like A Drum!
I think I'll be going from a Superkick II to a Force 1 clear! Great video!
2:25 my favorite one 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Awesome! You know I'm a big fan of these comparisons because you do them correctly! Keep it up
To quote my post from the Remo bass drum vid... "Outstanding job on the comparo vid... no frills, no BS, just the important stuff!"
Thanks for putting up these videos that obviously require a significant effort - you should be knighted or canonized or treated to a tall beer!!!

Superkicks arnt call super for nothing!!
Now it's time for Tom Heads comparsion
PLEASE do a Tom head comparison! (All brands!)
loads of others on youtube ruclips.net/video/LB9CKQnD40E/видео.html&start_radio=1&ab_channel=GiulioCarmassi
@@krusher74 he said tom not snare
edited it.
Fantastic comparison. Been using Superkick II Clear on all my bass drums for over 12 years and they sound GREAT!! Very durable too. Great video. Thanks. Subscribed.
force 1 clear... i liked.
1) aquarian super kick
2) remo powerstroke 3
3) aquarian deep vintage
Thank you so much! Been waiting for this one to compare aquarian vs evans vs remo.
Just today, my batter head broke, this came out at the right time. I wanted the Remo PS3 but its too expensive, so i went for the Aquarian Force 1 clear, i hope i made a good decision!
Modern vintage:

Can't decide between the super kick l, ll or impact I..
Wasn’t a fan of the Jack dejohnettr snare but man I love the kick
Man those Jack dejohbette heads have some special magic going on
@ctfalci have one on my snare ;)
@ctfalci I will check them out, thanks!
Grazie mille, for this demo, it's amazing how huge the difference of sound is, between the same brand of skin.
that super kick 10 is UNDERRATED.
i just went straight through one and am considering switching to the sk2
I felt that super kick II clear in my soul.
Super kick II user for 20 years but i like that Super kick III with the power dot!
I currently have a full set of Aquarian Hi-Frequency single 7 mil ply heads on my 6 piece tama Starclassic Maple kit, even on the kick, and they really bring out the shell sounds without much effort, and all my ghost strikes are clearly audible all the time. I use an Aquarian heavy kick pad on the kickdrum head. I'm gonna tryout the Superkick series soon and reflectors for the toms. Awesome video!
Force 1 coated has been my favorite for years.
Force 1 coated 👌🏼
Im impressed how the sound went from BOOMy to controlled. How to you tune the kick to get the boomy sound? I only achieved it without the resoannt head. Also i didnt know that an impacthead exists :)
nonetheless another top notch comparison video from the legendary Timpano
Single/double-ply heads with no muffling, tuned up enough to get a tone. Pretty easy to do. Be careful with single ply heads on a kick drum a they'll break really easily unless you generally play very soft, will want to use a reinforcement patch where the beater hits.
I have always used Aquarian impact 11 They sound amazing, live and recorded
I have been waiting for this video for so long. Thank you guys for making my day yet again!
You just saved 10s of thousands of dollars. And 834 months of waiting on shipping times to test all these lol...very noice
Super Kick II for days!
This is just what I was looking for. Thank you!
Hands Down...
Super Kick 10
Impact II
Clear versions of both.
Nice job!! Thank you !!
Always love super kick 2 and 3 😍😍😍😍 gonna want to get some more since its been like roughly 8 years
I like the performance clear 2ply 7mil.light weight muffle ring more of a open tones
Not my flavor, but I’ve used SKI/IIs and liked them alright. SK I is my favorite, but I always go back to the EMAD of some type.
Almost sounds like the Powerstroke 3 series with the Super Kick 2 and beyond.
Would the Superkick 2s work on shorter bass drums? Would it sound the same?
does the Studio-X have less muffling than the Super Kick series?
Just bought myself a Force 1 Clear Batter and Regulator Resonant (No Port Hole) for my 22" x 16" Starclassic Walnut/Birch bass drum. I'm so excited! Excellent video!!
Update: The Force I Clear 22" Batter head seems to make a buzzing noise.
very very good job...best sound for me superkick 2 clear
Thank you for this video. Bless You
Damn, great comparo, best! Cheers
how was the tuning? Reso and batter.. so great!!!
Thank you!
Excellent review!!!
Good Morning! What was the tuning note you used for the batter drumheads? more specifically Force 1 Coated! thanks
Hi Johne, we actually used a DrumDial to get the tension equal on each lug (instead of a specific note)!
my favorite drum heads
So many tones!!! This is so interesting!
Thank goodness
Yes!!!
wow.. the first 6 or 7 sounded like stretched plastic.. gross
It seems like Aquarian and Evans heads don't have the punch that e.g. the Powerstroke III has. Super Kick, EMAD, etc. are muddy and "soft". Not that that's an inherently a bad thing, just that Remo are the only ones who seem to be able to make a kick head that has a cutting punch without excessive resonance for styles like rock and metal.
I don't play any of those pre-muffled heads(remo emperor clear with large feather pillow inside), but when i see someone playing emad, it always has very focused sound with a lot of attack and punch. It doesn't always nice, because it doesn't fit with another drums
Yeah it definitely seems like if you’re gonna use felt, the strips are the way to go. The rings don’t really work the same way. You need the bearing edge to kind of act as a hinge for the self gating to work
Modern vintage super kick 1 seems to have as much punch as you want. Keep in mind the beater is felt in the demo.
Excellent vid .Me personally not crazy about these heads ..Thumpy and boxy sounding ..one Evans Emad or Gmad sound way better then all of them ..My opinion .Stay Healthy
I'm digging the grove.
