I agree wholeheartedly with you, on every point. And I appreciate how you don’t bash either game. They’re both phenomenal. I’ve spent about 2k hours in each of them and beaten them both many times. Most of my time in BotW was in Master Mode, but since TotK, I’ve had less reason for that. I don’t enjoy the monsters healing mechanic-especially the bokos and lizals. But I still play BotW. I usually just alternate between them. At first, it was frustrating going back to BotW because of the useless item drops and lack of caves, but eventually I got used to the differences.
    Thanks for another great video!!

No. TotK is a more fun world to explore but BotW had plenty to itself.
Truth be told though I've never started either over again.

I strongly prefer the Champion's powers from BotW to the Sages in TotK, the latter are too easy to activate at the wrong time if you have the avatars out. The number of times I've blown collectibles off cliffs because Tulin got in the way just as I was pressing the button to pick them up!
Plus losing Mipha's Grace makes things (quite literally) twice as hard.

I'm on my 2nd playthrough of Breath of the Wild now.
I do think Tears of the Kingdom is superior, but they are different enough that you can still enjoy BOTW.
It was still awesome getting off the plateau for the first time (again), filling in the map. Soon I'll take on the divine beasts.

For me BOTW is kinda irrelevant now and I have no real desire to ever play it again. I found so many more interesting things to do in TOTK that going back just feels a bit hollow now. I hold TOTK in such high regard because it surprised and delighted me so much, when I had real reservations of playing through the same world again but it managed to feel so fresh and I just prefer the way the world feels more alive than in BOTW, without totally losing the quieter moments. But someone else can feel totally different so it’s just my perspective

Game advances, creation advances, tech advances, mechanics advances, but stereotype never. The future gen will appreciate how great TOTK is. TOTK is the best game ever for those who are willing to be creative and curious. Although I actually had the most fun modern gaming hours in both of the games and absolutely love both these best masterpieces. I literally couldn’t enjoy any other game and quit gaming after played BOTW and TOTK.

😂 that’s crazy to say you quit gaming after them but I get what you mean. I enjoy a variety of gaming experiences so no one game, however amazing I think it is, could make me not want to play anything else but they are incredible games that both blew me away. I prefer TOTK and it’s made BOTW kinda irrelevant for me because it takes everything that was great about it and expands in really interesting and creative ways and it actually blew me away more than BOTW did which is some achievement

forgot the MASSIVE increase of copy-paste in TOTK. It's bad in both, but it's unbearable in TOTK.

It’s worse in BOTW because there’s much less activities to do, so that “copy paste” is just the same 3 things. Shrine, Korok, side quest. TOTK may have repeating objectives but there’s a much larger variety of them to do in the first place. In that regard, it’s much better than BOTW. BOTW is just smaller, but that’s an illusion of “less copy paste”. It’s more since it has a lot less variety even within that smaller world.

*To further BotW's sheer superiority, I will say this:*
TotK's story is bad, Fs with pre-established key lore aspects, absolutely shatters all the Master Sword's reputation, unga bunga buff Dorf with little to no ambition other than "me strongest there is" uninteresting, nearly everyone forgot who you were despite this game taking place a mere 4-6 years after Wild, Rauru existing is an insult, no Fi, no breaking of the Demise curse despite it being falsely hinted being the case what with all the Skyward Sword PR this game got (I distinctly remember Skyward Sword being advertised as heavily linked to TotK somehow which, again, is misleading as on Nintendo's part), no dog petting, no hookshot spiderman swinging with the physics being suuuuch a driving factor in these newer Zelda games, no underwater exploration instead a damp dark smelly overgrown cave can't see jack, COLLOSAL missed opportunity to hitch the princess with her handsome knight in shining armor, no stakes since Zelda's sacrifice was reversed giving the story little to no agency or consequence, Link as a protagonist felt nonexistent feels like everyone else was the star of the show not the guy who's saving all their 🫏s, no Link backstory before any of this went down aka no Arryl 2 or Granny 2 aka NOT WIND WAKER, didn't make me cry like Twilight Princess, dungeons are STILL NOT dungeons (pulling a couple levers to open a door and then be treated with literally the same copy-paste cutscene at the very end with each champion? Yeah naw), sky islands hardly anything worth noting although they are pretty asf to look at, I was expecting a totally NEW revamped endgame super Saiyan master sword golden tier 4 legendary new hilt new everything but naw same design with a booboo scar and hilariously less powerful... hoverbike autobuild pales in comparison to THE Master Cycle
As a game, sure, it's leagues above BotW but BotW will never be topped as a one-in-a-lifetime *experience*
TotK was an overblown $70 DLC and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Mid.

I always thought BotW was better. I thought there was way too much new mechanics and places that made me drift away from TotK. The simple world of BotW combined with no Zonai stuff whatsoever that made TotK feel so overwhelming made for the better Zelda game, in my opinion.

    I have heard that, yes.
Which, as someone who had more fun with BotW than TotK is... (I like TotK - There are individual aspects of TotK I prefer, even (The Rito questline in TotK is better than any questline in BotW, for example) - but overall I prefer BotW)
...It's decidedly not something I agree with.
