WOW...I'd been using Software Center every day, but the packages were created by Corporate. "NOW" I know what goes into building them, so "NOW" I know how to fix them when they don't work properly. Nice Job!

How can the computer at 8:55 min be offline , have no client installed, and yet show Active I wonder?
Great question. The Client 2 does have client software installed but is offline. Sorry about the confusion. Also, there is around 15min delay in status report for clients, sometimes even longer.
At 14:00 manually installing the client software of configuration manager is not scalable. You have to configure the device firewall to be able to receive inbound requests from the configuration manager server.

Interesting stuff. We use SCCM at our work but as IT techs we don't work on the behind the scenes. Its insane how all this stuff works, or should work in theory.
I'm glad you like it. It really makes a big difference once someone has a basic understanding of how things work. This can lead to increased interest in other IT things- which can only lead to success in IT.
Cobuman flexing he has a I9 computer, me sitting here with I5. Hyper-V pissed at me for not having enough disk space and computer sounds like a jet engine.

Thanks for another brilliant tutorial. You started with the sccm system already installed, do you know how I could install it on win server 2019 from scratch, I'm also a total beginner so a step by step instructions would be perfect.
I checked few videos, but unfortunately they're quite long (atleast an hour) and I get lost in the middle of it.

Hey man, really useful course for people like me starting up to learn about SCCM. Thanks a lot and please continue to post more videos and BTW, I will recommend this video to all my ICT colleagues who work on SCCM for End Point Deployments but not a lot of us know how the backend works and how to trouble shoot issues.
Also wanted to ask if you have done a video on installing and setting up VM's just as you have done in this tutorial on Hyper-V.
My pleasure. I have a video somewhere about setting up VMs using different software, but when it comes down to it, VM setup is kinda the same as on Hyper-V. A lot of the same setup caries over.

when looking at their system to install the client software, are we remoting in to the clients devices? or are we Installing it physically?
So, all of the software should install automatically when assigned to the computer name in Active Directory. For example, if you find the computer name in AD, go to member of, and then add the name of the group for that specific software.
After above is done, you can then use client center to remotely install or repair any software that belongs to that remote computer.
All of this depends if it is configured as such, otherwise you can also install the software while remoted in or physically at the computer.

Hi Sir, Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I have a small question we have deployed one application to 8 devices and application has been successfully deployed to 5 out 8 devices other 3 having issues when we checked the software center i can see downloading stuck at 0 please note all 8 devices are located in the same room, any idea about this issue sir
Are they all on the same network. That might be the cause.
@@Cobuman yes, only 3 desktops getting this is issue download stuck at 0 other desktops are fine, application has been successfully deployed to those desktops, any advice on this?
This is great!! Do the machines being managed have to be visible on the network and on that network when doing these functions? All my machines are on Azure AD so basically a virtual network and you see none of them when simply looking at the network.
Thanks! Yeah, you just need to be able to ping them on the network. So, they need to be reachable in that sense.

Not really. But, having basic knowledge will help you understand application troubleshooting.

Been using SCCM for a few weeks and it's literally slow moving software. I recommend PDQ deploy over it any day of the week.

Great Video. Thanks a lot. I have a little Problem, perhaps you can help me: I can't connect with the Client Center for ConfigMGR. I installed it on Client1 and cant connect to any PC in the VM. It just shows Error: unable to connect. I started it in admin mode. Everything else works fine.
It could be DNS related. Try to ping other computers on the VM network. If not working, you can point your network adapter to DNS server. Also, make sure that DNS server is running.

Is there any option to push software installation from SCCM but from the user names and not from client devices??
SCCM is mainly used to push installs to devices and not users.
You can use Group Policy to deploy software to user accounts. This method relies on the user's login rather than the device, but it's a separate technology from SCCM.

Hi Cobuman, Thanks for your video. Software center, when I wanted to install the software I deployed, it said fails. Under more information, it displayed "The software could not be found on any servers at this time." I have tried all I could, but I still can't fix it. Thanks
It could be configuration issue or network connection. Hard to say without hands on access.
You dont say where you set up the Corp DP's? Using manage engine I would create that file on the same server and put all my apps in it. The server was a VM with bi weekly snap shots. Please advise and Thanks

@@Cobuman I'm new to HyperV so not sure if I'm doing something wrong here. I have run the lab setup, but the "computers" don't have internet. They are not able to to access each other to copy files, and under Devices in Configuration Manager, there aren't any green checkmarks on the icon. My computer has internet and working fine.
Update: so I was able to get everything going by restarting everything and turning on GW1, just found out that it is the default gateway for those other servers/PCs. 1 thing I can't do is using \\client1\c$ to get into CLIENT1 folders from CM1 server. The password field keeps popping up, but won't let me in even after I entered in P@ssw0rd as the password. I can sign into CLIENT1 VM fine, just not not able to get into its files from CM1 server. Anyone knows what password I can find the password to get into CLIENT1 from CM1 server, I'd appreciate it.
update 2: It just started working somehow! not sure what I did or didn't do 😂 😂
