Yes me too! I was looking for roasted garlic to and I have shared this video now with several of my friends saying “this guy is awesome!” Thanks for making it so funny and keeping it real. I can’t wait to see more 🙏❤️
I’m a 16 year old girl and was so entertained by this video the entire time, the way this guy talks, I think you would be an amazing high school teacher hahah you’d always have my attention
Such an informative and FUN video that POPPED UP on 2023 THANKSGIVING DAY. I am definitely going to go all out with roasted garlic throughout the winter holidays. Special thanks from Chicago, Illinois USA
Dear Sir, I just subscribed to your channel after watching this. Few things I love in life..,wine, revolvers, poems and poetry, baking and cooking with Garlic and people like you. Please live long and share your passion. Cheers
I don't know why, but this comment made me tear up. I guess it's because you're old school and there's not many people like you left in the world. Thank you for that. Blessings ❤
I have a small, flexible, rubber tube that I put cloves in and roll on counter. Peels them right off. It's a two piece set for peeling and chopping garlic. I think I ordered it from Amazon. I don't use the chopper but I love the peeler. Love your video.
Great method, I too roast mine this way because I too don't like wasting the parts that are cut off; I used to include them in the foil wrap but you're right, trying to squeeze out the garlic still leaves a bunch in the skins. Tip for peeling that works for me and you were on the right track when you put them in the jar. Jar method is one, 2 stainless mixing bowls is the other (preferred); either method requires use of both hands .... gotta use both hands to shake vigorously. For the stainless bowl method, place the broken up cloves into one bowl, put the other bowl on top, hold them tightly together and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Most of them will be peeled, just pick out the cloves. Discard the skins and shake the cloves that still have skins. This works!! Good vid, good method for roasting garlic with no waste!
It's SO EASY. Use two mixing bowls of the same size. Put the garlic in one bowl, use the other bowl as a lid, and shake it like you're enjoying it! Skins come right off, solid!
You are a genius! Getting the audience involved by pretending to be incompetent and ask them if they know why it's not working for you. *Chef kiss* Brilliant! Also huge props to you not wasting all that precious garlic.
Great, easy to listen to and understand voice. Easy recipe for delicious roasted garlic. I roasted elephant garlic which is actually a type of onion. Yummy!
I don't know if you're still out there, I accidentally just came across youI love your video it's so funny just a great great presentation.hopefully I can get some more videos of yours if you're still out there
that's amazing that you got it to come back together. It looks like a whole garlic now. I've tried that also but with a very large lightweight pot with a color and it works. But. It takes so long that you shake your brains loose making it work
I had 5lb of already peeled garlic gave some to neighbor, used some and said what the heck am I going to do with the rest. And there you were showing how to do it not in bulbs form. I'm blessed today. Thanks for the tip
Wish I had seen this before cutting the wrong end off, having the cloves go flying… thank you 😊 I bought a 2 lb bag of garlic cloves because I hate the ‘pre-minced” - knowing that I couldn’t use it all. This solves that problem!
I didn’t realize that it was that easy to take the skin off the individual garlic cloves. I have just been cutting the end and hand peeling each one with my fingers. That took awhile. Thank you!
You need to put more cloves in that jar. But if you put them in a stainless steal bowl and put another bowl as the lid, you can shake vigorously and the skins WILL come off! Believe me, I did it and it works! But you can't just put a few cloves. It needs to be more. As far as the foil, you should really wrap the cloves in parchment paper and then wrap in foil. You don't want the foil to directly touch the garlic.
I use an old pot my mother in law had. It was thin and light weight. It is so easy. I don’t even brake up the bulbs. Just shake it good and hard and remove the peals occasionally. Only takes a few minutes to do two or three bulbs..
I MAKE THIS WEEKLY FOR FAMILY! I peel about 5 to 6 large bulbs of garlic. I peel each clove to remove the skin. I throw it in a Pyrex covering the garlic to about half the height of itself with oil sprinkling some salt and pepper. Close it with aluminum foil and toss it in a preheated oven on 400F for 40-55 min. I let them get just a touch of golden brown. You end up with this amazing, soft, flavor packed, spreadable, heavenly, garlic. Plus you end up with tons of garlic flavored oil that goes amazingly with warm bread.
Slam it onto the cutting board breaks all the bulbs apart, and you can also roast them inside of the husks and it will not only make it quicker it will be more garlicy and allow flavors to steam into them and have a more subtle taste
this video was super helpful. I have like 20 Carli cloves I peeled and realized I had no idea what to do with them. also I learned cutting the very bottom off the garlic will half peel them too. I think I like the bopping method though
Thanks for the video and the multiple outburst of laughter, I roasted garlic how the others do and I thought wow I’m wasting some garlic here so thanks for this
The best way to peel garlic cloves is that you pour boiling water over them and strain it immediately. Skin softens and there is no more stickiness when you peel them.😉
Hey for removing garlic skins, I use a rubber tube, just place one clove at a time in the tube rub it together in your hands and you can feel when the skin has releases from the clove.. just Google garlic pealer.. I’ve tried the jar method it’s never worked for me either. Lol but that little rubber tube thing works great and an added benefit is your hands don’t smell like raw garlic all day lol.
I use two small metal bowls, the same size, and shake it violently and constantly for 20 or 30 seconds. Really lean into it. One thing you could do to help, is to trim off that tiny little dry end (bulb end) and that will help release the paper covering. But I haven't found that to be necessary. Good luck!
I use a silicone tube purpose-made for the job, Put a couple of cloves in, roll on a "rough" surface, like a wooden chopping board, and they emerge clean, with scarcely any effort required to remove the skins. It also doesn't damage the cloves. .
I use a small cocktail shaker to do the garlic trick. It does work, gotta use those one handed skillz you grinded all that xp for and shake vigorously. Easy peasy lemon squeezy lol
Never heard about the jar shaking thing. Nor about this way of roasting garlics. There's a Spanish comedian, Luis Piedrahita, who talks about the little, inivisible things in life, like how a suitcase can feel after its check in when it's put on a belt, abandoned to its fate. Mr Chapman, you're gifted.
Chef Buck, you are a stitch. Love your video. But as far as shaking the garlic to help peel it? I have done it with the cloves already broken off the knob. I think it works better that way. So don't give up on that method. For me , it worked almost as well as whacking with the knife, which I do if I only need one or two cloves. I am subscribing to your channel. Can't wait to see more of your skill.
I put 4-5 cloves in the palm of my hand and then i rub my hands together, that works. I think it is because the hands have a tighter grip of them, and textures a glass jar never can provide so it is like the cloves in the hand is rubbed of and not shaken off so to say.
Smack it with the side of the knife or buy them already peeled in containers at Asian markets. Also there is a study that we should not use aluminum foil in cooking, because it puts harmful metal particulates in the food. Use a glass casarol dish with lid. I've also been using those discs of Mexican white cheese that you might like.
Fast and best way to peel garlic is have someone do it for you, that simple!
I came here to watch how to roast garlic and I found comedy gold! I’m a subscriber now, thanks for making me smile today !! (:

I love this guy's subtle sense of humor!
I ended up with an over abundance of garlic. Found this video and it's awesome. Thank you!
This is how I roast garlic. It’s so much easier than cutting the top off. When done I can’t help myself and eat some. So good!👍

His commentary has me cracking up!!
Great presentation - funny and informative! I too didn't like wasting the tops! And I too had trouble with the jar shaking thing. Thanks
Great recipe. Don't like wasting so peeling them off and then roasting is brilliant idea. 👍

Chef Buck, You are adorable! I agree about not wasting the tops of the heads of garlic by cutting.
Thank you for giving all the information including the time and temperature.
I love garlic! I eat it raw by the clove all the time! But after using your recipe it's so delicious!!
"It doesn't look like swan.." Actually it looked like a head of garlic! Perfect! Thanks for sharing.
It's SO EASY. Use two mixing bowls of the same size. Put the garlic in one bowl, use the other bowl as a lid, and shake it like you're enjoying it! Skins come right off, solid!
*sees the garlic spread on the toast* “nice”

Chef Buck you sure a fresh air for a chef, HILARIOUS! 😂😂😂
Additional points for not wasting any part of the garlic!
OMG feta, capers and olives on roasted garlic bread. I am so doing this.

Yea. Excellent recipe. Made this last night, worked great. Tasted great. Easy, Peazy. Thank You. 👍

HAHAHAHAHAHAH HOW DID IT COME BACK TOGETHER IN THE JAR
+Champagne Mami It doesnt. He emptied that container off the separate garlic and put inside on of the non-peeled ones to fool us.
I'm dying!

@@ChefBuckRecipes Good funny video!I just run some tap H20 in a bowl rather it's the cold or hot.It work's for me with ease.
@@ChefBuckRecipes I can't believe I've been doing the hard way all this time. Never knew about the wack on the head. It sure works.
You have to shake them very very hard in the jar. It really works for me. Loosens skin to peel easily
This is the right way to roast garlic. So much easier in the long run removing the cloves rather than roasting the whole garlic.

Lool at the jar trick and it coming back together lol yah right!!
It does work for me

Lovely presentation ❤️
I use two bowls and put them together with the cloves inside and shake the bowls and the skins come off pretty easy
Fantastic video, nice jar trick! 🖒
Thx for this. What is yours recommendation form storing the roasted garlic cloves & how ling do they keep?
Ok... I've too have been doing it all wrong. When I hit my nephew on top of the head, it's never been with a "light" touch! Thanks for the tip!🤣🤣🤣

Scaramangger tthat's how it feels to me when I try shaking the peels off
Exactly what I was looking for I too take the skin the same way you do no other way works for me either lol thank you 👍✨
Great recipe. To do the shake method to remove the skin lightly crush the garlic to release the skin a bit, then put it in the jar and shake it.
Hahahahaha
I love this video.
Very clever.

@@JannyMaha - You can buy a nice bag of peeled garlic at Costco for $14.99. Yesterday I put them back and got the unpeeled garlic for $6.99.
I love to watch your channel, your methods kind like mine and you are funny too . Love the channel ❤️
Magic garlic hahaha. I would use saran or parchment and take a rolling pin to slightly crush it to peel if I'm peeling lots of garlic 😉
Love this method
I love love love love your editing
