I just notice how young this cast actually feels. Hermes acts more like the youngest brother. And Persephone and Hades feels more like a caothic couple than a old/heartbroken one. This is what I love about musical, none is the same and is always surprise me.
True, but the musical story doesn't work if Hades and Persephone haven't fallen out of love. So even though they're chaotic, they're still heartbroken and dysfunctional
I saw this cast performing in Orange County back in August and they were spectacular. I really like Levi Kreis's portrayal of Hermes. Fun fact: When Persephone said, "Brother, I'll be bored to death!" Hermes really is Persephone's half-brother as they share the same father (Zeus) in Greek mythology.
I saw the touring cast in Orange County as well and I thought their Orpheus (not the actor in this clip) had a gorgeous voice, just like a flute. He really made you believe Orpheus' singing could stir the rocks and trees to emotion.
@@amynguyen527 There's something I liked about Levi's portrayal in clips, and I think that's exactly it. Almost like Anais wrote Hermes as a mentor figure, but Levi chose to instead embrace that Trickster God aspect of Hermes in the mythology.
First time I see this Hermes... WOOOOOOOOOW!!!! So much energy!!! That voice and the full performance... Just... WOW!!! I would die for listening this live. WOW. I can't recover from this.
I hope Levi reprises the role of Hermes on Broadway once Lilias White finishes her run. He did a fantastic job making this his own and would kill it at the Walter Kerr Theatre
I caught it in Austin and I was so worried that I was going to be late, fortunately I got there just in time and I’m so thankful because the first song was the best, and it’s all because of Levi’s vocals!
I saw this group in LA and it was great. I was apprehensive about how this Hermes would be after being so used to the original broadway version, but he was great.
Friends and I saw you as Hermes in December and you were phenomenal! The rest of the cast was breathtaking as well! Amazing show, can't wait to see it again when the train comes rolling around my way again.
I am not one who usually watches/sees something more than once... saw Hadestown three times this year and could go see it again and again - @LeviKreis is absolutely amazing, and has a gift that draws you in and won't let go - can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!
Saw this incredible cast, led by @LeviKreis, twice at the Ahmanson in May! Also saw the show with this cast for their Opening Night Previews at the Peace Center in Greenville, S.C. last October 2021. They are otherworldly, beautifully talented. Everlasting gratitude to @LeviKreis and the entire Hadestown company for this absolute GIFT of a show! ❤🙏🎭🎶🎭🙏❤
My friend the late Dan Eriksen committed suicide a few years ago and I got to see the song run through of this before it ever got close to coming to the stage - it was in its very early stages of planning Dan was a Lighting and Sound guy by profession - the name of his business was On location Productions - the funny thing is they told me Leonard Nimoy was sitting behind me at the run through and I didn't even realize it and never even saw him at all but I remember saying to myself at the performance I don't even like musicals or plays and all these songs are great and sure enough it's enjoying great success - if anybody was at that dry run through performance leave me a message or if you knew Dan Eriksen

True! Almost giving me Hadesgame vibes 😄

Hades and persephone are literally supposed to be the older jaded couple that the main couple are foreshadowed to become.
Damn, I had no idea how much wiggle room there was in this score until Levi's performance. I love it.
Lillias White in the current Broadway run shows this off too. I love the way Hermes’ performances differ so much
You should hear the original off-Broadway cast Hermes is like a blues singer with a rough raspy voice
@tray2022 I have. Honestly preferred that to De Sheilds voice but I understand the change.

He gives off the cheeky Hermes vibe which is accurate to the myths :D

This actress does the best rendition of Persephone's dance
She was the understudy for Persephone on Broadway too!

Levi Kreis is sensational! What a talented, truly captivating cast!
I am so glad that I saw this cast live. They were absolutely incredible!

My fav Hermes e makes my Louisiana heart sing with joy when listening to him sing Hadestown. So glad i got to see this cast in dallas!!
Having seen this touring cast live, I was completely enthralled. Mammoth performances I still think about 2 years on.

I need to hear the whole album with these singers omg

i was so happy to see this when i went to chicago Levi's hermes was so fun and the entire cast was amazing
I’m realizing I saw most of this cast in Chicago! They were fantastic. We had a different Eurydice the day I went
Saw Levi preform in Austin and I FELL in love with his performance!!! Now I can't stop thinking of his version of Hermes when I think of Hadestown.
Saw them live and they were all amazing!!
Just caught the show in San Antonio, TX. Loved it! 💗 Thank you!
I looooooove this cast. I saw them live last year and they're phenomenal
Levi is so insanely talented!

I’ve seen clips of the tour cast. This cast is insanely good!
Saw you guys in Chicago. Wonderful show.
I saw these guys and absolutely loved them!
Saw this cast in Durham, and I cannot recommend it enough. Nicholas is a perfect Orpheus!
I would have loved to see this cast!
i love persephone looking at the camera lol
Amazing!!!! Loved it 😍
Saw y'all in New Orleans back in February. Such a fantastic show, the entire cast and crew was incredible!!
saw this cast in denver (with the exception of chibueze as orpheus) and it's crazy how much this video accurately encapsulates their voices!!
I’m sure the new cast is great, but I’m very sad I won’t get to see this cast for my performance 😭
LOVE THIS!
Love it!!!
I just saw the touring show in Nashville and I feel robbed that I didn’t get this cast 🙃
Wait-I just realized Levi is the guy playing Hermes!! Ahhhh!! You’re such an amazing Hermes!! ❤
That’s how ya do it ❤️
I want to see this cast!
This is my rl drama teacher she showed us this at school

The “I gotchu” at 1:29
Can it just transfer to the UK already please 🙏 😫
"Somebody help, I spilled some Maroon 5 in my Hadestown."
My god it’s Julian Blossom
Wheres eva noblezadA?
i think this is the tour cast not the broadway one
Yeah this is the US tour cast not Broadway, Eva and Reeve are both still in the New York cast.
Lmao the trombone player was my grade 7 music teacher, didn’t expect her to be on here💀💀
am I the only one that dont really like this Hermes?
Hermes is doing too much
Kinda goes with the character, tbh. Honestly it’s apropos that Hermes gets to be extra
Nah, I saw him live and he absolutely stole the show as Hermes, comfortably the best rendition of the character
Not a fan of this take on Hermes, glad the tour cast changed!
